I think a lot of people get confused as to why chinese is always the one that sounds rly different... but it’s not a hard concept AT ALL. If you guys notice, nearly every word in these vids are used by korean or Japanese as a loan word, meaning there isn’t technically the same word in that language (Japanese/korean)... they just use the eng word and change the pronunciation (think: “cupcake” “tiktok” etc). In chinese though, there are almost zero loan words from english. Chinese almost always has their own word for any English word. For example cupcake is not “cupcake” with a Chinese accented pronunciation, but it is 杯子 bei zi = cup 蛋糕 dan gao= cake (so: “bēi zi dàn gao”, instead of smthng that sounds similar to “cupcake”).
The other 3 languages (japanese kinda has an alphabet, not really) have alphabets. Transcription is easy. Me transscribing cupcake in Chinese: 卡普- impossible
I think the more interesting thing is that China does a literal translation but Japan and Korea don't. Both languages have words for cup and cake (bread) and could have one.
clmbheat.322 I’m not sure how the gaining of new words works in China, but where I’m from the analyse the word, the meaning and the usage and then decide whether adding it to the vocabulary or not. Whoever decides these things in China they obviously make sure that the language is kept and not influenced by English or other languages.
Literal transliteration will result in weird and unnatural words in Chinese, unless the translation is 2-3 characters. So there are still some loan words from English into Chinese vocabulary, e.g. 沙发/sofa, 咖啡/coffee, micphone/麦克风. But longer than that, it will sound weird and no longer making sense in communication and will be replaced by meaningful translation instead.
yeap, the mean of BaoBei is my precious, but Chinese boyfriend who born in the Chinese north, they, called thier girlfriend BaoBeier, which means baby-just like my sweetie, not little child.
I really appreciate how much he explains why the words in Chinese differ so much from the other languages. Very refreshing to know the reasons why rather than laugh because it’s different
Omg he’s such a good in explaining than my Chinese teacher at university. I guess I have more motivation for continue study Japanese and Chinese, and I think I would learn Korean as soon as possible. Your subtitles so helpful. I would love to see u guys in new video explaining ur differences of everything. Also I came from love Korea and can’t wait for gurls interview and if collab
I love how clear and knowledgeable Jin Ming is with the meaning behind the Chinese words. It’s really interesting!! I think it’s so cool that so many words, although they sound different are like direct translations from other languages. Maybe it’s because of the writing system? Idk it’s cool either way:))
This is because Chinese is an ideographic language. Chinese people need to know the meaning of a word to understand it. So in China there is always sense-for-sense translation instead of transliteration, because the meaning of words in Chinese people’s mind is easier to understand than their pronunciation. We don’t know what that thing is if we only know the pronunciation but not the meaning.
Exactly! And usually some words are translated differently in Mainland/Hong Kong/Macao/taiwan, like “PoketMonster”, besides “神奇宝贝”, it’s also called “口袋妖怪”(literally means poketmonster) or “宝可梦”(pronounced like poketmonster).
Love Jinming but hate CCP and Tiktok. CCP supports North Korea, they should get out of SK or NK. They need to pick a side and stop trying to own both Koreas. They are buying Jeju while NK people starve and women are sold to North Chinese farmers as “wives”
Jin Ming is great!! His pronunciation is so clear and he explains so well (love the bit about the apple store and bao bei)! Hope to see him in more of the videos~

This was interesting and just from their outfits Jaein is giving off sexy teacher vibes, Myung cool guy vibes, Erina chic girl vibes and Dave skater vibes haha
When Jin Ming says: iQIYI I was like: omg i know that app
너무 재밌게 봤어요! 소주랑 팝콘 틀린 에리나님 너무 귀여울 뿐ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ 찐밍님도 완전 잘 어울리세요👍
We miss you Vai! Hello Jin Ming!!!
Ну если он сделает русские субтитры,то его смотреть можно по идее
уже есть, можете пересмотреть с русскими сабами)
The "Korean Soju is Jinro" in Japan kinda reminds me how Indonesian calls every Indonesian Instant Noodles is Indomie (even though there are many other brands). And it's not just Indomie for Instant Noodles but other things like Odol for Toothpaste, and many more! :D
In spanish we have 'gárgaras' It's the same as 'gargle' and here in Colombia we also have 'buches' Jin Ming is funny and cute❤️ We miss Vai too, fighting😖😖
스페인어로는 어떻게 발음을 하는지 궁금했는데 감사합니다. Gracias!
Una versión de todos los hispanohablantes par fa var v: xD siempre ha sido curioso como tenemos tantas versiones de decir lo mismo de forma distinta... todo en español incluso hasta dentro de nuestros propios paises tenemos esas diferencias ^^
OMG! 'Gharghare' has the same meaning in Persian!!
ahahaha I love how Dave cringes every time Erina has to pronounce "F" in Japanese xD it's true! "F" sound and "H" sound comes from totally different parts of your mouth.
"F" sound is generated with your teeth-lips and "H" comes from your throat.
Hey! yeah i just do it and it makes sense. Lol since i never know from what part does the alphabet comes out XD
English: T-shirt
Korean: TiSheoCheu
Japanese: TiShaZue
Chinese: T Xu
Portuguese: Blusa/ camisa
티셔츠
Portuguese and spanish use the same words!
Em Portugal a gente usa t-shirt tambem 😁 quase ninguem diz 'camisa de manga curta'
I miss Vai so much! I can't wait 'till he comes back! :]
I loved that Jin Ming explained why the Chinese pronunciations are so different than the other three languages, and he speaks Mandarin really well without any accents.
Кто от Ольги и ждёт интервью с Софией? 🙂
Хэлло от "love korea"
Очень крутое видео!
i like the new guy! he explains every word thoroughly!
데이브 영상 편집 너무 귀여워..💜💜
와 재인 ㅠㅠㅠ존예 더 예뻐졌어
Holy cow, Jaein looks like a super-hot teacher with those glasses and her hair in a bun. I'm glad I never took her courses-I'd never learn anything, because I'd just be staring at her all day 😅
아름다운 선생님 재인씨 고마워요!
But what about Dave? 데이브 선생님! 😅
@@commoncommenter1396 데이브 先生님
When Jin Ming talked for a second my brain heard Jackson Wang voice 😂
Oooh imagine Jackson on here too ! 🥰
발음차이 왜이렇게 오랜만인거 같죠ㅠㅠㅠ 이거 처음 본게 중학생 때였는데 다시 봐도 신기하고 재밌네요ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
재인임 왜케 귀여워졌어...ㅠㅠ💕언니 나죽어
