In my opinion, the floral note in this perfume is violet! It reminds me of the dry down of Insolence but with more vanilla + white chocolate. I'm not usually a vanilla/chocolate lover, but this is amazing and I have plans to layer it with insolence in the winter.
Great review, Arlene. Thank you so much! This is such an amazing fragrance. I found that I loved it even more as time went on (possibly due to my nose getting more accustomed to the notes or maybe it just gets better with age!) Either way, this one was a win for me and I'm glad to have it in my collection.
I'm not a vanilla fan in perfumery but still love this one, light and woody on my skin. I don't mind that it doesn't project much... Still its longevity is terrible on me, 1hour1/2 max... Another light easy vanilla I would compare to this one is "vanilla planifolia" from Chloe's l'atelier des fleurs: this one, more floral, is also a skin scent, but seems to last longer. From VCAA I plan to get "Bois d'amande" though 🙂
I really like OV. I think it's worth it compared to others I have tried. I haven't had the chance to try SDV yet. For the price point and longevity it beats out Tihota for me. The Tihota didn't last on my skin more than a couple hours and was a skin scent. I also own the Serge Lutens which reminds me of toasted marshmallows and caramelized sugar. I think the liquorish note does that. I have the Goutal Nuit et Confidences, which is surprisingly nice in the dry down and lasts longer than some of the more expensive vanillas out there.
Absolutely love your review of Orchidee Vanille! I was actually just wearing this yesterday, and decided to wear it again today after I saw this. :) I have a small decant, and very likely will purchase the bottle (LOVE the bottle - very classy and simple). An easygoing vanilla is the perfect description for this. I have and love Comptoir Sud Pacifique's Vanille Abricot, and it's a more intensely sweet vanilla than Orchidee Vanille, but they're both very well done. Thank you, Arlene!! :)
One of my all time favorites though I don't really reach for it enough...😍But you REALLY need to try Bois D'ore from their line, it's vanilla HEAVEN with some added smoky mix 🤩great for layering too. I really love VCAA house and that line, too bad most of their fragrances turn into skin scent...
@@modi5136 This is a very woody Vanilla perfume, it leans towards masculine, it's unique and close to the skin. It is absolutely intoxicating when layered with Bois Dore. But it totally transformed into a feminine scent when layered with L'occitane almond oil. Overall I would not wear it alone because of the strong wood, but love layering, so to me, it is a keeper. Not a safe blind buy if you are looking for a sweet chocolaty vanilla perfume. This is too chic to be "that sweet girl".
I wanted to get this but I already use coco vanille by house of mancera and I think they have similar notes. I think purchasing this would kinda be a waste since I already have coco vanille
I doubt anybody would dislike this perfume, as you said I also find it a classy, exquisite and versatile fragrance One of my favourites definitely❤

My best van cleef and arpels fragrance ever. Loooove it so much. It is pretty, comforting and relaxing🥰😇
I love it and it was FB worth it to me. I have SDV but I reach for Orchidee Vanille more. It's just so pretty and wearable.

💞I love your reviews! Thank you for your thoughtful content, I always learn a lot
Aww thank you so much! I appreciate very much 🤗

Nice, brief review! I have been wanting to try this one what seems like forever as it gets a lot of love on YT. I love vanilla fragrances… 🌷

Unfortunately on my skin this doesn’t last more than 10 minutes 😞 I love the smell though. But can’t buy FB for just a few minutes of smell.

I have 6 Van Cleef & Arpels fragrances. I love the house and Orchidee Vanille is in the top 10 in my collection.
May you please rate your 6 VC&A perfumes from 1-10? cause I plan to buy some perfumes from this house🥰

I love this one! I got it in a scent sub and really enjoy it, I just wish I could find it for a good discount, it's not quite a $100+ fragrance to me.
Glad you like it! Its my favorite vanilla and very linear on me. I never tried sdv tho
I just blind bought this after researching much, hope it is as good as I expected 🙂
How did it turn out?

@@vf6068so glad I read your comment! Currently looking for my holy grail vanilla ❤
How much do you smell the musk?
One of my favorites!
What was the name of the vanilla you’re currently reaching for ? I couldn’t understand what you were saying thank you
Spiritueuse double vanille by guerlain. She called it sdv.
Beautiful soft true vanilla..
Finally got my nose on SDV while I understand the hype how am I going to afford a FB and get Tonka Imperiale to boot
I love OV, it last forever on my skin. The only problem is that it has no sillage at all. It's a skin scent on me.
I wanted to get this but I already use coco vanille by house of mancera and I think they have similar notes. I think purchasing this would kinda be a waste since I already have coco vanille
Where did you buy it?
This scent is so pretty, but it disappears on my skin in about an hour, so I can't justify a full bottle.
Same i though i was going crazy
Shame that it doesn't have any sillage... it's a beautiful fragrance without power
I have this...so worth it! Compliment getter!
I love OV so much!
I wore this to work and I was in the break room and someone walked in and said they smelled cookies 😊
Has anyone layered this one? I feel it would layer well.
Could you do Rose Rouge by Van Cleef and Arpels?
I'll try to find a sample of it 😊
Unisex or femme?
This smells like Guerlain SDV, which I do not like. :(
Paper nose trick is ridiculous
How do you mean?
