Hi Nick like your whip...smart to push drivers further away from you,, I only have a Reflective 1'x1' neon orange and neon green flag.. i mounted a chain tube to the back of my recumbent trike seat horizontally with a slight curve to grip the flag pole. I inserted this 2.5' flag pole/flag to my left side.. I noticed that cars (who use to buzz me so close i could feel them) they give me a very wide berth.. I'm sure this set up saved my skin by making me look bigger/wider...
That's a great idea as well. For night time rides, the cars do give me extra passing distance. It's really noticeable on the climbs when I'm going 5 mph and the cars are doing 30+.
@@pedalpowercycling day or night riding, lighting is the key.. in motorcycle safety classes, they told us that drivers look right thru us (even though they are looking right at us) they said blinking lights/motion is important.. to look wider (that is where i got the idea) weave side to side and have your thumb on the horn.. Most important, Watch their front wheel as they are sitting at a stop (while you are going thru the intersection). if their wheel starts to roll, that is a great indication they looked right thru you.. Lay on the horn and hit the brakes.. It also helps lessen not being seen in the bike lane next to their vehicle.. I knock on their car or blast my horn to make sure they know i'm next to them.. and avoid the right hook. stay safe my friend.. Great videos.. I know how much work goes into filming/editing and uploading to youtube can be.. Great Job.
