I love this train! Locomotives 40 and 97 are by far my favorite! But actually I do love #3025 seeing how I found it was a Chinese type Mikado. I do love Chinese type Mikados too.
97 has been operating at the Valley since 1973. It was their main engine from 73 up till 2010 when it went down for a 15 year rebuild. She was very worn out by 2010. They fixed her boiler. She still needs a lot of work. They have her on a multi year rebuild program. Currently she operates during the fall and Christmas seasons. All three engines will operate every night during the Christmas season. Once all the work is done on 97 she will return to the regular rotation with the other steamers.
Great video awesome to see 97 in service
Good to see this place still in action, I have been there and operated the steamer, Thanks again to the crew @rmvM
Great video! Nice to see 97 back in service’
Excellent! It was fortuitous that you were there the day that they did the engine swap.
I was there too. At 19:07 you can see my dad on his bike. I'm on the other side of the crossing, it was an awesome day too.
Awesome video Jason Schaedler :)
Awesome video! Good to see 97 out
THAT INTRO WAS AMAZING
Well done.
I remember riding this train they also had a river boat but I don’t think that was steam
0:00 I need a new pair of pants

I was the fireman you filmed at the beginning of the video
But one small thing... The Connecticut Valley Railroad went out of business about 140 years ago. This operation is the Valley Railroad Company.
Nerd
What if 97, 40 and 3025 triple headed
Now that’s something I wanna see happen there
@@SolluxTheGamerquadruple head with that former B&HS 2-8-2. Now THAT would be an absolute sight
Why does only 97 seem to run up to Goodspeed? Are there axle load limitations on that part of the line for the other locos?
That's not the case, there are no restrictions.
Great video. What camera do you use if you don't mind me asking and do you grade your footage?
At fifteen yrs old now
What 3 chime is #40 wearing?
Why wasn’t 40,97 and 3025 not pulling dinner trains and why just diesel pulling dinner trains
Dinner Trains have always been pulled by diesels. Nowadays engines 0901 or 0902 are used for this service
0475 Joe oh I see
0475 Joe Speaking of the diesels, what’s going on with 0900, it’s been sitting off to the side for a while
@@benc.5863 Last year one of the motors failed and it hasn't been fixed since.
@0475 Joe That’s too bad, hope they get around to it. I actually kind of miss it when I think about it
Hold up. When did they get 97? I knew 3025 and 40 worked the line but is 97 a new addition?
They've had 97 for a long time, but it definitely doesn't run often
@@JasonSchaedlerVideos 97 has been running on property the longest, it was out of service starting in 2010 and reentered service about a year ago.

Are these all Chinese locomotives?
No, just 3025.
40 was made by ALCO, 97 by ALCO-Cooke.
