    Thank you for the video. Nice job with the engine build. Still lots of 289 Ford fans around!

    180’ headers, curious what jetting was final for the day, and spark advance curve?

    • @jyrkisulka9583
      @jyrkisulka9583 5 лет назад +1

      We tried few different venturi sizes and emulsion tube types. Jets naturally ruled by them. Needed advance was more than usually because dome type pistons (to get CR over 12). Sorry, no public details. This was first smoke and drive-in session. Setting will continue after little more head and intake flowing & grinding.

    cool vid with good hp numbers. very interested in the reversion. can you disclose the lobe separation angle of the cam and/or the amount of overlap at .050" lifter rise, just to get an indication of how much reversion the cam specs produce? i'm interested in putting an independent runner intake on a vintage Boss 302 engine. i want to run a solid flat tappet cam with 106 degrees lobe separation angle, 242 degrees intake duration at .050" and 30 degrees of overlap at .050". i'm afraid the reversion may be too severe and i am just trying to get an idea of what to expect. your comments greatly appreciated.

      the lobe separation angle 107, duration 1 mm / 1 mm 272 int and 276 ext, cam lift 8,97 mm int and 8,98 mm ext. 1.6:1 rockers.

    The good ole triangle 180 degree ford firing order. Im more 4.6/5.4/5.0 mod guy but love the old 289/302/351 windsor. Rev high make great power

      I've seen a guy build a 4.6 mod motor with a distributor... Figure that 1 out lol

      @@shawnlibby675 You weld a collar on the front of a valve cover, that clamps a cut down distributor with a socket welded onto the distributor shaft, that slips over the cam gear bolt. I've done several. Got to have Aluminum valve covers though.

      Same firing order as used on a Chevy or Mopar V8.

    Is what heads you using on the 289.. If they're Is stock cast... There is a head builder and designer that points out that the GT40 and GT40P Explorer heads... From the Ford Explorer from 96 to 2001 from Mercury mountaineer 5.0 v8.. We're very similar heads to the 93 Cobra 5.0 heads But they We'll outflow a worked 289 head

      I hear explorer heads lower your compression ratio.

    Neat build but I'll spend my $12K+ on a 1200hp something else, lol. and yes, I do realize this is a purpose built engine.
