I just bought the 512 GB Pro Plus for my Nintendo Switch. Based on your results I’m very happy with my purchase and should have plenty of headroom if the NG Switch has an improved memory bus.
Hey Michael, Absolutely ,youl have more than enough. When playing on the switch the reading speed is also important and the samsung pro plus is good at both reading and writing.thanks for your comment and enjoy gaming👍
The difference is because the controller cache is different based on the capacity of the cards. an equal test would be the 256GB versions of each against each other. I do dislike WD's/Sandisk's obfuscated marketing of "Up to" and it's usually the read speed because that's the fastest, and you have to really dig either the box, instructions, or even just have to look up the data sheet to find the write speeds. Which for the record, the 128GB Sandisk Extreme Pro write speed is 90MB/s on the data sheet.
i just bought 1TB extreme pro MicroSD card, read speed with crystalmark is only at 90mb...is my card original? Im using 2 different reader, same result.
I cannot get the read speed promised by Samsung. Some people say it is only possible with the Samsung SD Card reader. Same with the write speed. The specification caps the speed at 100 MBps. I doubt that the speed it obtainable when plugged into a camera or other devices.
UHS-I spec max out at 104MB/s. Most camera mfg strictly adhere to that specification. Realistic speed would be 60-80MB/s. To get faster speeds up to 200MB/s mfg like Sandisk or Samsung use proprietary out of spec read/write techniques. Often you have to use a specific card reader for each brand. They aren't always cross compatible. A Samsung reader that read 180MB/s might only read the Sandisk at 150MB/s and vice versa. However, there are a few rare card readers that read/write fast with both Samsung/Sandisk. One I use is Kingston Mobilelite Plus.
The results will surprise you. Its important to check the sd cards first before you buy them👍
Thanks for the video!

Good video. BTW, would you have any links for the Samsung Pro cards? I’m interested in picking one up.

There are alot of replicas in the market. I will stick with actually franchise chains that sell them or verified authorized dealers on Amazon
its real, apparently you need proprietary readers to get more than 90MB
thank you for such a great comparison ❤❤
what reader did you use for the sandisk?
Thanks for the review it has given me more insight on the SD card to get for my GoPro 11
You are welcome😁
