@@peabody1313 honestly it doesn't make a whole lot of sense in any scenarios, for obvious reasons it doesn't make sense if they only check the protagonists unless there's specific reason to specifically check them, if there is at least a reason they are not checking them properly enough, if they are checking people in general how much time do you think those few aliens will be there checking one by one all those people in that area? That would mean these protagonists would have to play human statuea for at least a dozen minutes and try to consciously stay still without blinking or breathing too hard
Honestly I think if the aliens looked straight in the eyes of these people, it would have probably been enough as people's eye will reflexively react, especially the dude who didn't understand what was happening, if not even just shining a light or a gentle breeze would make people flinch
