Michael Singer The Surrender Experiment Live Interview

  • This is what happened to me when I read "The Surrender Experiment." In the first chapter, he says that one day he came home and found strangers building a house on his land. What did he do? Nothing! He surrendered. I would have called the cops, but not him.
    I kept reading and at the end of each chapter, I said: "Wait. What!" - "Oh, C’mon! Seriously!?" - "He surrendered to THAT?" - And so on and so on.
    I felt lucky to be invited to his home in Gainsville and interview him in person. After reading and listening to his book, I felt that I wanted what he had.
    For the past 40 years, his life has had extremely difficult circumstances. For example, he was raided by the FBI, cheated out of money, and, yes, people built a house on his property more than once.
    And he just surrendered. Who does that?

    First, I feel a deep kinship with Dr Singer. I’m contemplating how he says we didn’t create the situations and life unfolds, be wholehearted in what’s before you. Dr Dispenza and Dr Hawkins seem to say we do create our situations and we are creating our futures. I’m looking at how to hold both. Certainly letting go affects the situation and the future. Either way I’m letting go. 💕

    WOW!!!! I was introduced to "Unthered Soul" by a young girl, traveling across the south by car and train, following her bliss. I happened to be a Uber driver that gave her a ride to the Amtrak station.....talk about sychronicities!!!! We just happened to have a like minded conversation and she suggested the book. I loved the book and then discovered "The Surrender Experiment". I can't put it down.... I feel as tho this book was written just for me!!! I am in amazement as I read the events that unfold, I have experienced a minute taste of this surrender concept and I committed to living my experience in allowance. Thank you Michael!!! for sharing your experiment....you are a inspiration!!

    I love Michael Singer. I discovered him years ago when his books came out. I read them and understood them but I didn't practice the tools. Well, some I did in a marginal way. Then I rediscovered Michael on RUclips. I took out the books and reread them and began listening to him over and over again. I now understand the principles. They are simple but hard to implement. This has now become my spiritual practice. I accept and surrender to the flow of the universe. Thank you Michael.

    I heard the audio of untethered soul and I love it! I do have problems with letting go.. I have control issues and I'm very sentimental and I'm trying my best to surrender; thinking of surrendering is easy but the letting go of emotional pain is quite hard. I mean, the pain reminds me that I'm not okay so everytime I feel the pain I get scared.

    Great interview, both his books are amazing journeys on the spiritual path to freedom!
    I don't get why he said before Oprah he never would do interviews. Wouldn't any interview presenting itself to him be a thing to surrender to as this is life's next step ? Or did he stop the experiment after the book was written ? Saying no seems like a personal preference if someone asked for an interview on Television etc. and he turns it down. Just curious as he talked about this towards the end when discussing about Oprah's call when he finally did his first interview and he used to say no all the time.
    Peace + Blessings!

    • @elischrag8436
      @elischrag8436 4 года назад

      GoodxJ I think surrendering has less to do with the decisions he makes in life and more to do with how he lets life affect his internal state. He is not going to resist nor cling to anything life throws at him, whether it be pleasant or unpleasant. Hes going to fully experience it either way. Its not that saying “yes” to the interview is surrendering, and saying “no” is not. Its that he is going to make the decision that he feels will be best (just like how you and me make decisions), except he can make the decision with more clarity because hes not trying to get anything out of the situation. Hes not trying to satisfy a desire (perhaps for fame) or resist a fear (being judged by millions of people). Hes just trying to bring peace, balance, and love to his life.

    I did make the moment in front of me! Does this one size fit's all guru have any kids? what you put into something IS what you get out of it! Surrender is also true, but only one side of the pendulum swing that climbs us ever higher. The greatest people, art, cultures, SUFFERED, STRUGGLED, WERE CHALLENGED! rotting on your mountaintop in masturbatory bliss is real but just one tool, one lesson. This life has so much more to offer past this hurdle. Thanks for offering it to folks , but please don't let them atrophy there:)

    • @ClaudiaAzula
      @ClaudiaAzula  6 лет назад +2

      Maybe you did not read the book... He DID struggle, he started a company that sold for millions, the FBI came into his business and took everything because someone betrayed him, he went to court for that, he has kids, he has a lot of people in his property, he works hard. And yet, he surrenders to everything.
      I think you need to read the book to really get the full picture Ryan

      It might be a good idea to read his book'The Surrender Experiment' prior to your expressed assumptions and judgement. You will learn that "hiding in the woods" is NOT at all his answer, just part of his personal path at one point in his life. ...and yes, he has a son and been fathering him. He also has run several extremely successful companies dealing with all the regular issues that come along while doing so.

      I think Surrendering has less to do with the decisions one makes in life and more to do with how one lets events effect their internal state. Surrendering means not resisting or clinging to anything life throws at you. It doesnt mean you say yes to anything someone asks of you. Its not that saying “yes” to an interview is surrendering and saying “no” is not. Its that whichever decision he makes, it doesnt matter all that much because either way he’s not going to resist what happens following the decision. Hes just going to experience it, or handle it if its uncomfortable. Thats my understanding anyway
