Did you open the front and rear diffs? If so did they have the red loctite too? I broke the pin holding the sun gear and damn I had to torch and use a stripped screw remover to drive them out then the center brace forget it I just broke the head off drilled it and used the screw remover they went crazy with thread locker for sure the chassis depends on that brace I tried to drive with the screw loose and the center drive shaft spit out lol
Yes I did. No the front and rears were easy, they have plastic housings so no loctite. No issues with those from what I remember. Ya that metal rod is what keeps this thing semi rigid 😂

I preordered this after I watched your first video and they emailed me yesterday that I will be getting a revised version 1. So V1.5 I guess? Including tighter shell to prevent clipless body from popping off, adjusted diff screw glue, reinforced chassis, and fine tuning the parts that wiggle with excessive play. Should be available in July. Then V2 will be available in October. They gave me the option to accept V1.5 or wait for V2.
Oh cool that’s awesome!! I’m inclined to say wait for the v2 but as far as I know we don’t know what that version will consist of. Hopefully many more things that we’ve all mentioned in the videos.

I just noticed you have ivermectin 18,000 subscribers! Very well deserved…. Do you know about the Ho Bao Hyper tt? It’s an old platform that was the king of 12 scale Truggy’s until the Tekno came out and took over that race class. Regardless it’s an amazing RC and the RC gods heard my prayers and there is a new 2.O VERSION 😮!!!! I was just commenting on Razor RC today how Ho Bao should use the Hyper tt platform to make a 12 scale MT. I tried it on the past but the needed hex extenders dried up in 2019 doing a period when a lot of RC parts were getting hard to find. Anyway, anyway watch the video and trust me when I say you need a Hyper tt. The OG version I have handles amazingly well. Point and steer! The tires were always bad but fun for a few runs and it needed an aluminum top plate and extra upper A arms on full supply but I think that’s been revised. The mid motor design has been moved back but hopefully that’s not an issue. You are going to love the Hyper TT.
It’s ours. It’s about a 1/2 acre. Was pretty much one of the prerequisites when we were looking for houses lol I wouldn’t even go look at houses with smaller yards than 1/2. Wanted more but the search took way too long.
I see what rlaarlo meant when they said they aren’t worried about this one… too many things that need improvement unlike the Omni terminator.. which just needs fluid and thread lock to be bashed around hard, steering and suspension are perfect out the box

I find the transmitter really bad, do you know what amount of channels the orignal receiver has? I might want to change it out aswell. Also, What exactly did you change on the shocks? I couldnt quite make that out.
Ya the receiver blows! I think it’s 3 channels. I reused the little metal eyelets that came on the shocks of the 10208, instead of the plastic ones that come in the arrma shocks.
@@DerbyCityRC Mine is getting stuck aswell now, the trigger. How can i switch the reciever and still maintain the option for 75% / 100% speed. I like it on 75% when i'm racing but i don't know how this stuff works if i install a new reciever and transmitter.
Thanks!! 😊 so the exact tires I used on this video are what most people recommend for the granite. I haven’t tried yet, but they do come with the adapter to fit the granite. Short question, everbody shows how fast they can go. Could you show how slow they can go? I would like to have a fun car that could also tow my rc boat to the lake close by on a small trailer
All these cars can go extremely slow, like barely moving if you just barely pull the trigger. But I’ll try to mention more which ones can be slowed down heavily even if you pull the trigger fully.
Yup it was 47 on the 12t pinion on 4s. I almost did a speed test this time but that squirrelly rear end kinda made me not do it. One of the possible upgrades for this next version are tighter tolerances that may improve that, so I may do it on the next version I review. Depends on how it all unfolds. My guess with that pinion and bigger tires it would be atleast 5mph faster.
I have a red 1/14 with two 3s square batteries... Never have had these before. Never used em since I got them yet. The car came, with tons of extras. The aluminum they offer factory is great..!!! I'm gonna have to wide the car with the slash 1/10 carbon fiber and aluminum red.. because it's already aluminum. I hope it turns out nice. I have rlarrlo 1/14 aluminum needs one left steering arm. I'll donate to the rc cause anytime...!!!

They definitely need to lower the price on this one to maybe $220ish because it looks like the tires are too thin and have to be swapped out immediately.
Well hopefully the new version has better tires! I think $250-$260 is decent which is where it seems it will be for now, but definitely still some concerns.
I have mixed feelings about the updated versions that may or may not come. One one hand it's good that they improve their cars on the other hand it makes me hesitant to buy one (will you get the latest version? Is there a new version coming soon?).
I definitely get it. I touched on that in the end of the video as I got a what is hopefully an official update just yesterday. Looks like an updated V1 on a few weeks and an actual V2 in a few months. So ya I wouldn’t buy it yet.
For this run I’m almost positive I used the stock Angry Snail/MJX battery, which so far seem quite decent I also may have used a CNHL with an adapter. I used both in this car quite a bit. This cnhl battery: amzn.to/4cUzzVO

@@DerbyCityRC More handling its just so dang squirrely. I widened, diff servo, suspension work, new controller and receiver and still just can not stand how it drives. Got the Omni Terminator carbon version and LOVE IT! Handles night and day difference!

@baehoeta3693 I’m actually about to make a post about this car. I received the “newer enhanced version 1” and it’s the exact same thing that I already reviewed. Me and my Makerfire rep are both confused because he got the info directly from MJX. I think that the version I (and many others) already reviewed (and then put the longer shocks on) was already this enhanced version but no one knew that. MJX knows 4s causes a hot motor (which is typical really) and that it causes the tires to blow, so they maybe changed it to 3s on the listing for that reason, but they did not change the speed. 4s is what got me just about 80kmh which is now what their listing says 3s does (it doesn’t). Hopefully it’s a mistake because if not that’s way off and they should know better. Maybe with a 15t pinion but I haven’t tried yet. I was running it on 3s in the yard again today and man it’s still a good truck, but this lack of communication or organization is annoying and not right. The new mjx crawler I just reviewed was epic and practically perfect the way it is. Not sure why they didn’t wait to refine this car better before release like they did with the crawler.
its a lot better but still not worth it in my eyes upgrading cars to make them good makes them also more expensive i still pick arrma granite or outcast v2.5

Oh 10208 easy. The cheetah is garbage. Faster and an absolute animal, but it’s fragile as can be. I have a cheetah roller and lots of spare parts for sale if you’re interested 😂
I dont understand why companies like mjx dont just buy an xmaxx or kraton (or whatever the best thing is at the time) and copy it just enough to not get sued. And dont use cheap plastic either. Use the good stuff.
I think they do sorta do that. Lol They got a lot of inspiration from the granite AND the MT10 here. The trade off to the flexing plastics is more durability for crashes. Which we’ve seen a lot of crashes across several channels now and very few breaks so it works, but ya... It’s a trade off. I swear I think rlaarlo got it right with the Omni terminator. The plastic is solid yet it still can flex under extreme loads.
@@DerbyCityRCmine, and everyone else's Xmaxx has that rubbery plastic everything and they handle like crap to. Suspension components require a rigid mount to function. It's a trade off. I prefer my big Arrma trucks and Redcat nailed it with the Vigilante. It's the best handling large scale plastic chassis I've had by far. It handles and especially lands jumps much better than my Xmaxx. It drives like I'd Arrma made a big plastic truck. I'm definitely getting one of these but it'll be after version 12345 or whatever number it takes to get it properly sorted. I've got way to many rigs to bash already to be knowingly buying bad ones.
Yup definitely a trade off! There’s a few things they could do to stiffen that up a little bit that shouldn’t hurt durability too bad. We will see how the next version does. I’m sure we will have a version 7 by winter with an announcement for version 9 😂
Mmmm this one is a pass for me, the way you talk about the old hyper go made me think about adding it to the collection, I was interested in this new one but after seeing this I’ll wait to see your review of the V2 and see how that turns out..

I absolutely have plans for better dirt jumps back there and a small track. Issue is it’s all on a very slight slope (especially where I want the track to go) so dirt would wash away pretty quickly. Trying to figure out the best solution.
This version just isn’t worth buying and there is so much talk about what’s coming to what RUclipsrs got I’d be very dubious about buying one. Beyond RC made some statement about it from his supplier which made me think maybe he is just supporting him as he has a container full on route so would lose money on bad sales. Version 1.5 version 2 until we see it I’m thinking it’s all talk and I really hope they don’t lie and send these out as an updated version just to get rid off them
Man I know. Seriously it’s been so confusing. Now what it looks like is happening is we will get a “between” version. A V1 plus I believe theyre calling it. I should have one pretty soon and my Makerfire rep assured me any orders from them or really any registered mjx dealer will be getting that. So let’s see what that looks like and how the upgrades help, but then supposedly an actual v2 in just a few months.

I get it too. This one does have the size and power though. This one has too much loctite and Omni didn’t use enough lol

Yup it was 47 on the 12t pinion on 4s. I almost did a speed test this time but that squirrelly rear end kinda made me not do it. One of the possible upgrades for this next version are tighter tolerances that may improve that, so I may do it on the next version I review. Depends on how it all unfolds. My guess with that pinion and bigger tires it would be atleast 5mph faster.

I have a red 1/14 with two 3s square batteries... Never have had these before. Never used em since I got them yet. The car came, with tons of extras. The aluminum they offer factory is great..!!! I'm gonna have to wide the car with the slash 1/10 carbon fiber and aluminum red.. because it's already aluminum. I hope it turns out nice. I have rlarrlo 1/14 aluminum needs one left steering arm. I'll donate to the rc cause anytime...!!!

They definitely need to lower the price on this one to maybe $220ish because it looks like the tires are too thin and have to be swapped out immediately.
Well hopefully the new version has better tires! I think $250-$260 is decent which is where it seems it will be for now, but definitely still some concerns.
I have mixed feelings about the updated versions that may or may not come. One one hand it's good that they improve their cars on the other hand it makes me hesitant to buy one (will you get the latest version? Is there a new version coming soon?).
I definitely get it. I touched on that in the end of the video as I got a what is hopefully an official update just yesterday. Looks like an updated V1 on a few weeks and an actual V2 in a few months. So ya I wouldn’t buy it yet.

@@DerbyCityRC More handling its just so dang squirrely. I widened, diff servo, suspension work, new controller and receiver and still just can not stand how it drives. Got the Omni Terminator carbon version and LOVE IT! Handles night and day difference!

@baehoeta3693 I’m actually about to make a post about this car. I received the “newer enhanced version 1” and it’s the exact same thing that I already reviewed. Me and my Makerfire rep are both confused because he got the info directly from MJX. I think that the version I (and many others) already reviewed (and then put the longer shocks on) was already this enhanced version but no one knew that. MJX knows 4s causes a hot motor (which is typical really) and that it causes the tires to blow, so they maybe changed it to 3s on the listing for that reason, but they did not change the speed. 4s is what got me just about 80kmh which is now what their listing says 3s does (it doesn’t). Hopefully it’s a mistake because if not that’s way off and they should know better. Maybe with a 15t pinion but I haven’t tried yet. I was running it on 3s in the yard again today and man it’s still a good truck, but this lack of communication or organization is annoying and not right. The new mjx crawler I just reviewed was epic and practically perfect the way it is. Not sure why they didn’t wait to refine this car better before release like they did with the crawler.

I dont understand why companies like mjx dont just buy an xmaxx or kraton (or whatever the best thing is at the time) and copy it just enough to not get sued. And dont use cheap plastic either. Use the good stuff.
I think they do sorta do that. Lol
They got a lot of inspiration from the granite AND the MT10 here. The trade off to the flexing plastics is more durability for crashes. Which we’ve seen a lot of crashes across several channels now and very few breaks so it works, but ya... It’s a trade off. I swear I think rlaarlo got it right with the Omni terminator. The plastic is solid yet it still can flex under extreme loads.

@@DerbyCityRCmine, and everyone else's Xmaxx has that rubbery plastic everything and they handle like crap to. Suspension components require a rigid mount to function. It's a trade off. I prefer my big Arrma trucks and Redcat nailed it with the Vigilante. It's the best handling large scale plastic chassis I've had by far. It handles and especially lands jumps much better than my Xmaxx. It drives like I'd Arrma made a big plastic truck.
I'm definitely getting one of these but it'll be after version 12345 or whatever number it takes to get it properly sorted. I've got way to many rigs to bash already to be knowingly buying bad ones.
Yup definitely a trade off! There’s a few things they could do to stiffen that up a little bit that shouldn’t hurt durability too bad. We will see how the next version does. I’m sure we will have a version 7 by winter with an announcement for version 9 😂

I absolutely have plans for better dirt jumps back there and a small track. Issue is it’s all on a very slight slope (especially where I want the track to go) so dirt would wash away pretty quickly. Trying to figure out the best solution.
This version just isn’t worth buying and there is so much talk about what’s coming to what RUclipsrs got I’d be very dubious about buying one. Beyond RC made some statement about it from his supplier which made me think maybe he is just supporting him as he has a container full on route so would lose money on bad sales. Version 1.5 version 2 until we see it I’m thinking it’s all talk and I really hope they don’t lie and send these out as an updated version just to get rid off them
Man I know. Seriously it’s been so confusing. Now what it looks like is happening is we will get a “between” version. A V1 plus I believe theyre calling it. I should have one pretty soon and my Makerfire rep assured me any orders from them or really any registered mjx dealer will be getting that. So let’s see what that looks like and how the upgrades help, but then supposedly an actual v2 in just a few months.
