On older computers upgraded on unsupported hardware to Windows 11, I would make a image of the system before considering upgrading drivers . In some cases you can't roll the driver back the way as you can a Windows Update for the system.
Well I just bought another refurbished dell laptop. A few days ago. And I noticed in it's update history. That a solid state driver had been installed! On 4/10!! So that's good right!?! Cause before I was always wanting to download, those 'optional' drivers. But then I wasn't able to anyway. 😕 Never sure why though?? But now I guess I no longer need to worry about that!?
I have 3 Optional Updates that have nothing to do with my computer - One is for an Intel 7. No idea how these were sent to me. To be specific - intel(R)7 Series/C216 Chipset Family smbus Host controller 1E22 - intel CR/Q77 Express Chipset Controller - 1E47 - XEON(R) Processor E3 - 1200 v2 - Core Processor DRAM Controler - 05 - 150. I went to the website and got nothing of any help. I have a i5 X4. Any ideas? I have zero idea if they are helpful or desired.
@@WCT Thanks - will install - a system restore point1st. I nave a Levono and they make their own motherboards and their scans show No updates required. Download anyway?

If it ain't broke, don't fix it!
If it is broke don't make it worse.

They are drivers that apply to the controllers on the motherboard of your PC

You can install drivers just figure out where it is or what it is first. If you do it blind through WU it's a recipe for disaster.
