Wow, what a feeling. She'll remember that when she's old and gray! Congratulations Simone and your beautiful mount. Never forget what that horse gave to you today, she left it all out there.
That was the most beautiful riding and jumping I have ever seen. Absolute poetry in action. Congratulations, Simone and your lovely, talented mare! Many more years of success!
That was absolutely text book riding and indeed, that is what it takes to be a world champion. Congratulations to her. And as for her mount. He is a magnificent jumper and so willing!
First woman to be World Champion at WEG. As in 1986 Gail Greenough (CAN) on Mr T, was the first woman to win the show jumping World Championship (individual) in Aachen, Germany.
Go for it girl! You can do it! All you have to do is believe you can do it and not give up no matter how much times you meet the ground! And if you get hurt get back up If you die... Walk it off (Captain America quote)
Congratulations for your horseback riding Winner! And I am so totally proud of you! And you did a Awesome job for doing that! You are a Amazing person ever!
It's current format wasn't introduced in 1990. the formula from 1990 until 2014 was exactly the same as the formula under which Gail Greenough won it. This year, it was still the same except the "Final Four" was dropped. All that changed in 1990 was the name and that other sports were happening on the same grounds.
Curious if anyone knows the stat on gold medal winning team not having a single individual on the medal podium? Iam just curious. I find it kinda crazy. It seems every other discipline had atleast one individual from the gold medal team win a medal
Why does Fei say 1st ever female world champion?? Gail Greenough for Canada 🇨🇦 was world champion in1986 with her horse Mr T. FEI should know better 😏 Never the less it's a fantastic achievement by Simone Blum and Alis
Simone Blum put in a wonderful final round in the 2018 WEG show jumping final, but the format is easier now, and female Canadian show jumper Gail Greenough pulled off the win under the original format in 1986.
From what I read, the difference is that the top riders had to go through the course with each other’s horses. Now, this is certainly harder, for those would be pairs of strangers. However, now what is being measured is the partnership between horse and rider. It seems to be a different take on the sport, more akin to dressage. Personally, as a neophyte observer, I find this take more attractive even if “less” difficult.
equime Gino Cassano FEI World Equestrian Games take place since 1990. The statement was relating to this. Before 1990 there were no FEI WEQ, every discipline had its own event. Gail Greenough didn't won FEI Show Jumping Event, even though she won in Aachen 1986. Best regards from Germany!
Jayne Huddleston BUT it was relating to the WEQ since 1990, like I’ve already said! Since 1990 when all disciplines were put together into one event they were called World Equestrian Games. And since then no woman won this competition.
If they called it a female world champion in 1986, and they crown a world champion now, then it is a second female world champion. They didn't cancel the previous world championships in 1990. They, simply, started holding them with other championships that have no impact on the result of the world show jumping championship.
Gino Cassano You are wrong. FEI World Equestrian Games take place since 1990. The statement was relating to this. Before 1990 there were no FEI WEQ, every discipline had its own event. Gail Greenough didn't won FEI Show Jumping Event, even though she won in Aachen 1986. Best regards from Germany!
Gino Cassano is actually right cavallo. You are wrong. The World Equestrian Games IS the world championships in multiple disciplines. You can't crown a first female show jumping champion in 1986 and then do it again in 2018 and say it was a first. Every sport changes where and how they hold their championships but they don't pretend the past ones never happened.
@@jaynehuddleston8631 I think that's why the description said the format was introduced in 1990. I believe they mean that this is the first time a female was won at the FEI WEG Showjumping since they started this event in 1990. Not quite sure, but that's what I think
Of course, that's what they mean. But a world show jumping champion is a world show jumping champion. It's not the champion, only if you word it exactly the right way. Sports have records and you shouldn't need to split hair and dissect the semantics of the wording to know who is or was the champion. It is unfair to all past champions.
a great rider, now question. interesting would be the backgrounds of this victory. but the title is wrong: first female WM was Gail Greenough, Canada, with Mister T. (and details about the modus are nonsense. the modus for Gail Greenough was more worthy, asking for the skills of riders).
Wow, what a feeling. She'll remember that when she's old and gray!
Congratulations Simone and your beautiful mount. Never forget what that horse gave to you today, she left it all out there.
Lyssa for a second I thought it said ‘when she’s old and gay’
Very nicley said!
Omg haha same

Like so many of the current great show jumpers, I think Simone Blum's horse is a mare.
Incredible horse and amazing riding!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is true - Alice the horse really did look like she was having fun...and she cleared the jumps with so much room to spare!
That horse is absolutely fantastic!!
That was literally perfect. Beautiful to watch.
Well done Alice and Simone! A great combination! Sehr gut!

My gold medal in Olympic 2024 in horse riding ❤️
I was there
I love it that
Remiscent of Je De Pome in 1996. Take nothing away from this awesome lady but Gail Greenough in 1986 was the first woman champion.
Amazing horse and rider , this horse is so difficult to ride omg
The horse is beautiful 😵😅🥺
I'm so sad she isn't competing in the Olympics this year
Horese and rider working as one, couldn't have been better. (Mississippi Gulf Coast, USA)>

Congratulations Germany!!!
Edit: hey! My names Simone 😂 I’ve never heard or met anyone else called Simone to be honest
My name is Simone too :p

Endlich mal ne Reiterin die nicht wild im Maul rumreisst
With due respect to the very worthy winner, your headline is WRONG. Gail Greenough, of Canada, was the first female World Show Jumping Canada,
Jumping looks so scary.
Gail Greenough 1986 :-)

Oh yes it was the FEI World Championships in 1986. The FEI just opted to run multiple world championships in the same venue in 1990.

No she isn’t the first one, Meredith-Michaels Beerbaum is the first one.
But well done for her anyways!

That horse is part rabbit.
Not true. Simone Blum is not the first.Gail Greenough won the title for Canada in 1986...
