I'm in such love with how progressive metal / djent keeps evolving. Then I find ANOTHER group of guys like you, guys. This was really sweet to listen to
marcus söderberg i guess its because plini uses that melody a couple of times: selenium forest 2:58, opening 2:03 and orm 2:39. besides that i really like your stuff, its refreshing and something new!
Hi Bro! I compose music too and I go in the same direction more or less. I stopped by and wrote a comment just to say that this inspires me and that it's a very very good song!!! My respect!
+Marcus Söderberg dude thank you. ive been going through a rough patch in life. something bad even came up last night. your sound has inspired me and given me hope that things will get better. im even starting my own music project. im waiting on my guitar as we speak. youve influenced how i want do my own style. i cant thank you enough. keep up the good work my friend.
+dsavish Thank you! I have been very busy.. and had to postpone the release that was scheduled for this summer initially. I wont let this release suffer due to bad production/songwriting as some of the filler songs for the last ones did :)
I'm the pickiest musician ever when it comes to music, and dude you got a like from me fersure. the layering of the guitar tracks is phenomenal in this. it isn't overly produced if that makes sense, able to clearly hear what's going on within the song as a whole. hopefully after I acquire more digital based gear I can get my stuff out there on youtube, I can't wait. but my point is this track is truly an inspiration to me man. really dude. well done, you deserve the 100k views.
+Hame Hacksaw Strange, the installation went really smooth for me.. Currently running cubase 8 pro. I bought the education version since I'm studying full time.
Is anybody else tired of the bullshit on radio that has no talent at all? We all need to make a movement and support bands like this and move them to mainstream. It's time cuz im fucking tired of this club and rap shit that push buttons and call it music. These bands put a life time of dedication and learned a skill that will never be respected but because it's not poppy it will never be listen to or respected. Keep this shit alive
+Niguel Barrio In the video it seems like I'm skipping some of the picking.. never thought of it before actually. I usually play what feels best and in this case i guess a combination of both is what I'm using. I tried playing it a few times just now and that is the way it's most comfortable for me. It's not that hard to play either way though, however it sounds better with those starting accents on the A string picked hard!
Marcus Söderberg.. that incredible music seems one piece, I'm amazed by great talent, I would like to have in Guitar Pro 6 is Music to learn touch it would be an honor to enjoy it on my guitar
Hey man. Im mostly self taught and I'm sure my muting technique is crap haha :) that tapping part does however come out clean even without the fretwrap!
marcus söderberg What scale/arpeggio are you using for the outro? I'd ask for the tabs, but I want to improve my theory so I don't have to rely on the tabs all the time, and i'd like to know the thought process behind choosing which scale/arpeggio to use for the outro.
LetsGetPissedMate pat textor Here you go guys. we.tl/IKqc8Pkn5g This isn't the tab of the whole song, but I felt kind enough to tab the parts you were asking for ;) I might do a song breakdown / how to play - video for this song, we'll see! As for the theory, you are asking the wrong person haha! The knowledge about that isnt what I'd like it to be. Use your ears as well as following strict scales/arpeggios!

Discovered this gem of a song about 3-years ago and I still listen to it about twice a week.
My god... that fretboard is delicious haha
+JgHaverty delicious is so accurate xD
+JgHaverty lol, that's the first thing i thought too! as you can see from the comment above
+JgHaverty Came here to say exactly this. So glad it was already at the top.
anybody got an idea what wood that is, might order a skervy in the near future and I'm loving that grain.
+theBorritotrooper it's pretty ambiguous sadly. could be a nice piece of rosewood, ziricote, bocote, *shrug*
6:40 the lick.
It's too good not to use ;)
+Morgan Reid signature FQ sound there
+Morgan Reid with the sweeps.. beautiful. sounds like something i would write
+Morgan Reid Which lick? "The" lick.
+Morgan Reid Only Jazz kids will understand.
This song's a masterpiece. Great work.
06:38 lol sick reference bro. For those of you who don´t know what it is, it´s "the lick" the alltime jazz inside joke and reference to use.
It's the Wilhelm scream of the music world
Just heard it, wondered if anyone else recognized it, hehe
Haha, awesome! For those who don't know, here's the lick: ruclips.net/video/krDxhnaKD7Q/видео.html
it's like an easter egg haha reminds me of Necrophagists use of "für Elise"
7years later, still love this
The chord voicing and sense of melody in this song is incredible. I more or less love everything about it.
Really great work dude!
+Màngata Thank you :)
I'm in such love with how progressive metal / djent keeps evolving.
Then I find ANOTHER group of guys like you, guys.
This was really sweet to listen to
this vid is included in my study playlist. so i play it at least 3 times a day. im not getting bored of it.. ever!!
6:40 the lick. i cant escape it lmao
Man the beginning of that melody screams Plini.
People keep telling me that, but I cant recall the song you might be refering to? Mind telling me which one?
yes
marcus söderberg i guess its because plini uses that melody a couple of times: selenium forest 2:58, opening 2:03 and orm 2:39. besides that i really like your stuff, its refreshing and something new!
Fred TheOrchidThief Haha alright! It wasn't intentional but I guess there is a similarity. Sorry if it bothered anyone. Thanks fred!
Morgan Reid plinis a scumbag
I'm drooling over that fretboard.
6:17 to the end is the best part imo
harmonized sweeps are my number 1 love
and now you have a new fan good job sir good job
+unbredbeast Thanks!

I'm the pickiest musician ever when it comes to music, and dude you got a like from me fersure. the layering of the guitar tracks is phenomenal in this. it isn't overly produced if that makes sense, able to clearly hear what's going on within the song as a whole. hopefully after I acquire more digital based gear I can get my stuff out there on youtube, I can't wait. but my point is this track is truly an inspiration to me man. really dude. well done, you deserve the 100k views.
would like to know what kind of vst was used from 5:10 to 5:30
+Nik cher Project sam > orchestral essentials > concert harp !
that harp vst plus my regular cubase steinberg piano :)
+Fifth Quadrant thank you for you reply, thats quit an expensive VST to have.
BTW love your music, keep up the good work.
+Hame Hacksaw Strange, the installation went really smooth for me.. Currently running cubase 8 pro. I bought the education version since I'm studying full time.
i get a very Plini like vibe from this and im ok with this
Is anybody else tired of the bullshit on radio that has no talent at all? We all need to make a movement and support bands like this and move them to mainstream. +Jeremiah Penner Thank you man :)
Your welcome brother I love this shit, you guys fucking rock
Do you play all the instruments man?
+Jeremiah Penner Fifth Quadrant is my own project, but I only play guitar and bass. The rest is programmed! I write everything though :)
+Marcus Söderberg Fucking bad ass man, extreme respect
this is super dope
Also.. sick song! :D
Tune the snare drum up with a drum key please
I will re-mix and master everything for the album release! This isn't even close to a final mix, but thanks for the feedback!
I second this notion. For progressive and technical songs like this. I tight snare compliments the articulation that this song requires.
Coisa linda!
This is so good !!! Keep it up! :D
i like this alot
what gutiar is that? i never seen a guitar with a similar headstock other than a parker... could it be?
Still amazing in 2024.
Indeed.
4:52 Are you doing hammer ons or alternate picking for that lick?
+Fifth Quadrant
+Niguel Barrio In the video it seems like I'm skipping some of the picking.. never thought of it before actually. I usually play what feels best and in this case i guess a combination of both is what I'm using. I tried playing it a few times just now and that is the way it's most comfortable for me.
It's not that hard to play either way though, however it sounds better with those starting accents on the A string picked hard!
+Fifth Quadrant Thanks so much! I love your playing
Nice guitar
Marcus Söderberg.. that incredible music seems one piece, I'm amazed by great talent, I would like to have in Guitar Pro 6 is Music to learn touch it would be an honor to enjoy it on my guitar
This is so beautiful, any tabs
Good job
Wow... This is awsome... Is this guy still in music?
A bit of a late comment maybe.. but YES I'm still making lots of music :D
Your music and guitar are dericious 😛😛😛
Update: Inspirational as well
super awesome... \\m// ... inspirational
What's the name of the red guitar ?
This is fucking phenomenal
Some TAB to download ??
NICE!
I feel like this is the guitar version of call of duty and this dude hit prestige and got all the cool guitar weapons lol
3:12 like to see what this sounds like without that neck muter. Think this kid can mute? Cause it doesn't look like he is....
Hey man. Im mostly self taught and I'm sure my muting technique is crap haha :) that tapping part does however come out clean even without the fretwrap!
That run at 4:05. OMG
hey, that's pretty good
Amazzzing song B-) Tabs please! :)
Mmmm I enjoy this a lot.
You guys should tour with Widek
Great stuff ! Can you make tabs ?
I can make tabs for some specific parts, it takes sooo long time to write the whole song in tab format due to all the layers!
marcus söderberg at least tab out the tapping part. That shit is ridiculous but I can't figure it out.
marcus söderberg What scale/arpeggio are you using for the outro? I'd ask for the tabs, but I want to improve my theory so I don't have to rely on the tabs all the time, and i'd like to know the thought process behind choosing which scale/arpeggio to use for the outro.
LetsGetPissedMate pat textor Here you go guys. we.tl/IKqc8Pkn5g
This isn't the tab of the whole song, but I felt kind enough to tab the parts you were asking for ;)
I might do a song breakdown / how to play - video for this song, we'll see!
As for the theory, you are asking the wrong person haha! The knowledge about that isnt what I'd like it to be. Use your ears as well as following strict scales/arpeggios!
marcus söderberg you're the man!
