43 years old, put same configuration together today in about 2 hours. Love the couch. Very lightweight. Comfy. Love the ability to wash the covers. Love how modular it is.
My wife and I were struggling to get the the seats into their legs, we were jumping all up and down on them and it was a struggle. So I said to myself “let me put some boots on like him”, I kid you not I put the boots on and stomped one time at moderate force and they started going in with ease. Long story short you need boots for this install. 4:07
to me, it was worth the hard work to get my sactional all together!!! We are in love!!! Took us about 6 hours (husband and myself). Both in our mid-60s!!!
Just finished putting ours together. It was a two day process. Building it was not easy. You definitely need two people. Especially when putting the cover on the back and arm rests. For the price, saying “it’s a lot of work” is an understatement. The price tag should include a professional to come and build it for you, because boy I will never do that again!!!
Now that you’ve done it once - it should be easier in the future. All of the attachments look really robust (which is a good thing) so if you take care of this couch - it probably will command high demand second hand resale value going forward. Quality made used Italian furniture made 40 years ago still sells for a premium - if these modular couches are built to last (to be determined) I could see them well worth the investment
I totally agree with you. I just finished putting mines together as well and it's a lot of work especially for one person. Had I known I probably would've probably went with a different couch but it definitely should include a professional to come and build it for you.
This video is very helpful. The first seat was a challenge because I’d never done it before but after the second or third it was smooth as silk. I may even advertise on thumbtack or angi as a Lovesac assembly person since so many people seem overwhelmed.
I did this build solo...8 hours. The covers are hard af to get on but there was minimal cursing in spite of that. The real cursing came in when trying to get the feet in the shoes. A couple were quite the struggle. For the money paid, i feel like i had to work at Lovesac for a day on top of the price. Some white glove services would really help with the value. Oh and i don't even have the sound system yet. That's 20 weeks back ordered.
I am an elderly lady and this cost me a lot of money and recovery from pain when assembling (including PT plus massages). I agree that this should come with someone who can come and assemble. I paid $6,600 for four pieces couch! I had a hard time squeezing "clamps" into the "hole" design for it - it resists being squeezed there. It took me whole two days to put those together-by myself. I was so sorry I bought this, now I'll have to live with it. Ouch!
I just assembled 6-piece sactional. It took me more than 7 hours with some help for an hour, my back is stiff, have scratches on arms from zippers, squeezing pilows into covers, almost smashed fingers alignings shoes! It took more than an hour open all ~25 boxes and to flatten. May be the way to handle this is using Taskrabbit. There are furniture assembly guys who charge like $35+ an hour, it is worth hiring. You may get lucky if you can find someone who has done this before.
Took me less than two hours to put together and honestly it was pretty straight forward, I’ve been reading the comments so I’m not sure if people are exaggerating or I just got lucky (I will say i am on the younger side so I understand it taking a bit longer since the pieces can be pretty heavy)
My 40 something husband and I (just shy of 30) put together our rolled side 3 seat sactional together in just under 3 hours. The covers and the clamps were tough, but the secret I think is to go slow and make sure it lines up perfectly before exerting any force
These videos are super helpful!!! Thank you. I was not able to put clamp between the two pieces of L where the short and long side are. In the video, it seems doable, for me, they are too far apart to clamp. But it is stable with shoes.
Almost broke a finger. You are eliminating a huge demographic, basically all senior citizens who can't do this type of labor and the young, who can't afford this.
@Maria Dibari young people can't afford any super nice furniture which is what ikea is for. And old people couldn't move heavy furniture either so they'd still have to pay someone to do it for them.
For the time this video took to watch, I could’ve went to the furniture store picked a sofa paid for it had it delivered, had the white glove treatment and sat on it😂
Beware! The manual install is frustrating and time consuming, and confusing. I would have paid for a recommend pro to install but no options were offered by Lovesac.
Some of these comments are real interesting. I am a 30 something male in shape and it took me 2 hours to put together 4 seats sides and cushions included.
I’m shocked at how expensive this was, and how back breaking it was to put together. Yes, we bought A LOT to fit in our media room…but 24 boxes that all came separately over many days. Ugh. For the price I just assumed it wouldn’t take us days to put together(had to call in my dad to help) LESSON LEARNED! I assumed it would be soooo comfy. It’s ok comfy!
Definitely over-simplifies a tedious, difficult process. I’m a strong person, and cannot get the side covers to come over the corners. As it is, I have blisters on six fingers from the effort. A very expensive piece to require this kind of effort. Ouch.
This was a disaster, someone in the showroom should have warned me that professional assembly is required. Imagine 20+ VERY LARGE boxes showing up in your driveway instead of a sofa. I had to hire a handyman just to dolly the boxes into the garage. The handyman wasn't able to put the sofa together by himself so I ended up hiring a second handyman and it took them two days to put it together, costing me $800. BUYER BE WARNED!!!
I wish I had read all these comments first. Honestly, this is ridiculous. Upon first receiving the pieces, I was impressed with the engineering, however the covers for the seat frames are too small. I wrestled and fought to get these on and even then, the seams are not right. I’ve done two of four seats and dreading the last two. I hear the sides are difficult too. $4000+ for all this fun!
I bought one of these for a ridiculous amount of $ only to find out they dont even set it up for you....that's on me but I just assumed for almost $10k someone would set it up..
This is the absolute worst furniture to assemble. He intentionally glosses over the part where the shoes don't fit and you HAVE to turn the furniture on it's side to get them on.
@@codywalker8408 are there any exclusive discounts available or contests to win a couch? I’d like to try this couch out but I don’t know how much it is and if it’s affordable, and if I would like it. I will appreciate your reply. 🙏
Hey Mr. Inventor! I just cancelled my 5K order. 2 days after ordering. Why? Cuz I was getting bad vibes from reading all the poor reviews of ppl having problems putting this together. One woman said she went to physical therapy afterwards. Ah No thank you. Like buying a Lamborghini and telling customers, your engine will be delivered at a later date and you will be installing it. After speaking to the manager, he expressed the same concerns customers have. Maybe you need to go to college to learn about customer service. I give you an F!

It's better to learn how to do it yourself. The modularity is the selling point after all
Any guides for the sactionals with sound and speakers inside

Did you use a deep side in the middle? Wondering if I can configure my sactional deep way without using a deep side
The corner seats will use regular sides no matter the configuration. Middle seats require a deep side for deep seating.
