  • In this video I have tried to captured the process of loosening the bumper on a 2011 VW Touareg enough to replace the headlight bulb on a model with bi-xenon headlights. Some elements were missed but I provided an audio overview of those moments.

    Great video, I need to replace the small ring lings in the head light assembly, do you know what model they are and is it possible?

      Thanks. No, I'm not certain what part number that is, probably only sold as the next higher assembly.

    Thank you for the video. What is the color temperature of OEM that you removed. I am thinking of upgrading mine to 6000K.

      I can't say what OEM is based on my vehicle. What I put in was a 4200k and it matched the one I did not replace pretty well. I feel that is a pretty good match up for my vision and these projectors.

    Hi, I did what you did but somehow I get the cornering light error. Does anyone here know, should I do some sort of calibration after this? My steering wheel was turned to the right so I had easy access to the bolts under the wheel arch.

      Did you ever get the cornering light error sorted out?

      @@ntgm20 it was working for two months.. And it is going to a mechanic next month for a che3up. I cleaned the contacts and it worked some time. Now it is not. Cornering lights are working, auto long beam short beam is not.

      @@carlosorff Thanks for your feedback. I have the North American version, so don't have auto long/short (hi/low here). Hope it gets all cleared up for you.

      At that time I was holding my phone and by myself. I needed both hands and didn't have any way at that point to attach the phone. I tried to put it down a couple of times but it wasn't working and my arms took up most of the view. A lot has changed since then.

    Thank you for the video. Did you have to remove all the bumper screws fully?

    • @ntgm20
      @ntgm20  3 года назад

      Yes, all the screws I mention in the video do have to come out. There are still four screws or bolts down below that are still holding it on, so this really only loosens the bumper.

      When putting back the bumper was it a struggle to get it aligned? I am tackling this project this weekend and would like to be prepared. Thanks

    • @ntgm20
      @ntgm20  3 года назад

      @@sylee2113 It took me a couple of tries to get it right but no, it wasn't that difficult. It might would have been smoother with a second person, but as it is still connected at the base it is still manageable by one's self.

    I hate this car and I wish I would gave known how absolutely ridiculous it was to change or repair anything on it

      I think I've had a headstart by all the repairs I've done on previous VWs. The Touareg is definitely different though, and high MX cost is what I'm most concerned about.
