Have you ever been to Wax Trax? And if so, what are your thoughts on the shop? If you haven't, does it look like a place you'd visit while in Denver? Let me know that or anything else that comes to mind in the comments below.
I've been going to Wax Trax since the mid 80's. I don't live in Denver, but I go there whenever I'm in town. I was turned on to this set of stores when a record store employee in El Paso, Texas told me he worked at Wax Trax before moving to El Paso and told me to stop by when I went to Denver. He later moved back to Denver and started working at Wax Trax again. The next time I went, I asked for him and they said he had passed away, But they were so good, they had a picture of him behind the counter. Great Place.
@@andreascott1892 -- I believe you are speaking of Frank Bellancula, does that sound right? Frank was a cool dude, still miss him to this day....
I worked at WAX TRAX for about a year in the early 80s. Dave and Duane were wonderful, the whole staff was fun, the job was a lot of work, but worth it. My favorite store became my job for a while!
That was a great show, mate. Those guys seem really cool. I'd love to go drinking with them and hear lots more of their anecdotes!
went to HS in the suburbs of denver in the mid 90's and to university in boulder in the very early 00's.
WAX TRAX played an instrumental part of my musical evolution when first getting into punk and hardcore. nearly everyone in "the scene" had some affiliation with the shop and i've got great memories of hanging with friends that worked at both the downtown and hill (boulder) stores.
I worked at Wax Trax from 1988-2000, Dave & Duane are family. Great video!!
Love this type of video Matt, great job! What a fantastic old school record shop. If you're complaining about the heat and wearing layers, you've only got yourself to blame!!😂
I indeed suffer for style.
That was really well done. The fact you had to work around their busy day I think added to the charm of the video.
Great video.
Great store.
Great thing for the local music community.
Awesome 👏 👍🎶
Great Great video! Your channel is full of awesome content. So glad I ran across it. Thank you!
Awesome, thank you!
Sweet video Matt , that Lemmy mural is epic.
Funny seeing this pop up this morning. Been watching your videos for a while. Live in Denver and was there yesterday. Great shop, great metal section. Thanks for the videos.
Great video Matt. I love going to vinyl shops I can spend hours in there. You meet a lot of cool people at these shops.
Great video offering insight into what the store owners have to go through, much appreciation!
MGP, this is a great video!!
Very nicely put together. I like how you care about the content you put out, so many don’t and then wonder why they are ignored
Thanks, Mike. I appreciate the kind words.
Awesome video, MGP! WAXTRAX rules. I visited this record store a couple years ago when I drove up there from Albuquerque to see Nitzer Ebb over at the Oriental Theater. I even took a selfie in front of that awesome mural! 😃🤘
I went to wax Trax in summer of 92 before Lollapalooza 2 also from Albuquerque, the metal section was so insane I spent all the $ for Lollapalooza at wax Trax! And hadda bum food and drink from friends, but got some shit you just couldn't find in Alb, Merlin's was good but compared to wax Trax, nah
If by the grace of God I'm ever in Denver 🎶❤️🤘
Really enjoyed this video I'm now a little bit more corrupted 😜
Really good stuff Matt. I enjoyed that! (A)
Glad to hear. Thanks.
Wonderful video of a wonderful local shop. I would love to be a fly on the wall there.
I really enjoyed that video. I love record stores. When ever I visit a new city, I always research the record stores and visit them.
I have always loved record stores as well. Sometime in the late 80's my dad said I needed to take time off my regular job and visit as many stores as possible and then write a book. Thinking back, I should have done that.
Well hell yeah I'm gonna have to make a trip to Colorado now, thanks dude that video rocked
Cool record store. Thanks for showing us around Matt.
Dude, you have great videos.
I look forward to them.
I've been a fan since the channel started.
Keep em coming!
Thanks! Will do!
Some nice metal/Thrash there.
By the way, does Wax Trax ship orders?
Just swung by their website and it appears that they do.
What did ya get…
