Because as they said in the ep. It goes against the spirit of the game. In a way it resembles a game of chess where a player might simply opt to dominate, taking pieces when they could easily put the opponent in checkmate but go out of their way to simply dismantle the opponents side because"they can"
@@mistertaz94 It really doesn't, it's just a different playstyle. I mean Saki still gets points even with her tactic, so she's actually doing nothing wrong and is simply playing with a different tactic. Nothing says you should have to play FC the same way as everyone else. Just don't cheat or actively try to hurt somebody, which Saki isn't doing. Aoi makes a big deal over the Birdcage, but it's really not even bad. At best just come up with ways to fight against it, not denounce it as this horrible thing (in my opinion that's not justified just like Irina denouncing the current FC). This whole message of their FC being bad doesn't work, when nothing they do is actually wrong. Makes me wish they wrote something else for Irina and Saki.
I don't agree with this. The VN can be good, but so much of it focuses on needless clowning around, and so many heartfelt scenes or important ones get ruined by the inserting of perverted jokes which ruins the immersion of the scene and any care I should have had about them, super long filler scenes, and the girls being annoying (including not leaving Masaya alone etc) that I was either bored or annoyed, rather than the sport and the good moments which I liked. The anime cuts out so much of the BS (including the annoying parts of the girls character traits) which makes it easier to get through and much more focuses on the sport. Seriously, you have to get through so much uneeded and annoying scenes in the VN, to get to any of the good stuff (again, some of which is ruined due to poor timing of jokes into moments we're clearly meant to care about or wholesome moments). Only downside is Masaya is barely utilized in the anime, even if I prefer his more composed anime personality (gets labeled a perv once, and doesn't even pay Mashiro any mind and just ignores her outright instead of dumb stuttering or anything else). So I don't agree by comparison the anime is awful, in fact I think it's a lot better for the most part after rewatching it after rereading the VN. It's just missing a few key moments from the VN, more characterization, and more screentime for Masaya to make it truly complete. Otherwise it got rid of everything that held the VN back for me.
@@sen1679 Actually, your post is the one that's really bad for not refuting anything, and I stand firm on my reasoning for not holding the VN on a pedestal like most people do. You can like it a ton, that's fine, but a lot of stuff held it back for me personally, which the anime mostly removed, which made the anime more enjoyable for me to get through. Sorry, but I'm not a sheep who's just going to agree with what others say. You can bash me all you want, it's not going to change my stance in the slightest. To me the VN is alright to somewhat good at best.
@@robroy373 lmao god no, the VN is miles way better than this anime. it will never live up to it unless it gets a remake like Fate. the "clowning" around is literally the Slice of life aspect into it.

This tactic is called bird cage, and is friggin dirty, even said by the creator herself

In TCGs, this would be called a lockdown strategy. Inui takes the first buoy, flies upwards, and the lock is complete

Poor Shindou he would win easily if the green girl not "cheating"
