You know what, i say it! This track is THE Sasha(thx Spooky) track. Xpander & Scorchio doesn't hold a candle to this magic. This track simply got it all, starts of heavenly and then when you think it's over...it drags you from hell and back to eternity! Shout-out to Oakie for featuring this one as an opener for his immortal Twilo mix too...
The memories, stood in a tiny kitchen after a night out, belt drives on the side, arkham asylum in full effect, couldn't be happier :) bloody luv Sasha
First heard this one a radio show, 105.9FM KLZR Nocturnal Transmission DJ Ray Velasquez. Lawrence Kansas, USA. Sadly, the show doesnt exist anymore but it was educating and fun when he was there.
I've loved this since I first heard it in '97 and every time I hear it I cannot help but marvel at the beauty of the interwoven sound layers. The strings are incredibly beautiful. A sound one could never tire of. The track Sasha did with Maria Naylor - The Other Side - is very similar in tone.
absolute heaven for the ears, always my favorite sasha track, i too never understood why it was so rare to find, the flute sound towards the end sends shivers down my spine, fantastic
When I first heard this track on a mix comp CD it actually had me tearing up (and I don't know why). When the LFO filter kicked in around 9:00 minutes in - it stirred my emotions like 'what the fuck?'. Wasn't on any drugs. Really odd feeling but it was awesome. I was just driving along in the car on a rainy day while listening to it. The melodies pierce your mind. I have this on a variable bit rate MP3.
It really is a shame. I got into trance a couple years ago via Armin Van Buuren's ASOT... after a couple years that show started to go south and I started digging towards releases from the past. I'm glad I've strayed from ASOT (I want nothing to do with it these days) - my favorite year for this kind of stuff is 2000. Great compilations are: "The Abyss: A Journey into Deep Trance", as well as John Digweed & Sasha's - "Communicate."
It's definitely one of his best tracks and there's a collaboration with Maria Naylor (The Other Side) that's almost as good as this, certainly a very similar track. There's so much in terms of layered sound with this track that it gives goosebumps every time. Absolutely fucking awesome.
fucking masterpiece!! just discovered this track and older trance tunes. its fucking incredible!! why doesn't trance sounds like this anymore?! a shame
I love this ep version of Arkham Asylum. I have a much shorter version on a compilation cd. I can't find this version anywhere as I would love to buy it.
it's a nice track once it eventually gets going..., it's got a nice groove to it from about 07:07 onwards... the sort of tune you'd listen to whilst indulging in some wild lust
Too right! One of my favourite alltime tracks. It really doesn't sound like this anymore... Must correct you in that this is progressive house, not trance... Sorry....
Remember sitting on a train from Leicester to Scarborough going for a university interview thinking this is perfect travelling tunes

Don’t make tracks like this anymore, timeless and Sasha at his finest.

classic record. amazing melody...
First tune I ever forgot I was listening to. Wonderful piece of music. Pride of place in my small collection.
I enter this Tune feeling like a Man.. I get spat out the other side feeling like an Infant..
Pure Trance! Wonder if Sasha will travel back to his original music and produce more epic trance? *hint, hint*
I have it on vinyl and I'm glad that others can listen to it. Cheers.
Classic Sasha
Class in the Asylum,,,,Tune! Go Sash.
Love this!
techno. thats the reason. and tiesto started calling his music trance, instead of shit, which is the correct description.

Sasha has always held that trademark value into what was called trance music back then.
Wtf? Trademark value? Fucking kids.
Sasha has been about for far longer that that bullshit.
Kids. When when were you born? Give as 10 tracks before Arkham.
oh man, oh man...
FANTASTICO!!

cheers for posting, one of sashas un sung tracks and in my opinion his best
Epic masterpiece, his best. Didn't hear it much in 1996 mind & why was it so rare?

Ivar Svensen progressive as it gets! As they say, labels are bollocks, just damn great music!
try popof - serenity or worakls - vertige or gui boratto - matryoska, my friend
great track when it gets going, but on repeat i find myself skipping to 7 minutes every time.
What was the flipside called, again? Just as good, only different. :)
Ohmna
