- So happy to share this collaboration with Miss Hula Japan 2018 and my dear friend Hinako Kanda. Her elegant, yet powerful hula is sooo mesmerizing... it was an absolute dream to sing and watch her tell the story of this mele so beautifully. x
Here's a song that we both love, written by Frank Kawaikapuokalani Hewett, in memory of his late son and their love that is strung, knotted, and cherished forever like a lei of pua kenikeni.

Absolutely lovely! My wife was born and raised in Kealakekua but we live in Texas :-( We literally had just arrived home with “Hawaiian BBQ” and saw this video has just been posted. What a sweet song, and wonderful performance
“Hapa”did the concdert in japan about 2 decays ago. Contrary to my expectation, most audience (except Japanese) wore Sunglasses with fake leather clothe in a way only those ppl could know. Withe the most exquisite Hula dancer, they showed us what the heaven is. I hope Honoka will realize that her act is also heavenly.
