    • @Audioremedy0785
      @Audioremedy0785 4 месяца назад

@@McVaio I don’t think it’s about market domination at all. It’s about a market shift in trends as people are quite aware that most EV sales currently are people shifting from ICE cars to electric. So when 7-8% of new sales in a year like we have seen in the uk being EVs is a really significant shift. In isolation that’s not much. But if that’s happening every year for 5-10 years that’s plenty of people moving across to EVs. No one sees EVs currently as a truly mass market product given their (moderately) high entry point. But as time goes on and these cars become more affordable, larger level adoption is inevitable. Even Mguy is starting to accept that as you can hear in his videos.

EV's are fine and cheaper per mile for those who can charge from home: for those that can't, then buy petrol (not diesel). (Encouraging 'Diesel' cars was another EU program! - look it up if you don't believe me!)
Let the market decide like it always has. Some of you people need to adopt a 'live and let live' attitude.
Do not buy anything Chinese (if you can help it) - China is now as bad as the Russians (fascists). That means not buying MG, Volvo and Lotus. Sadly most of the batteries come from China! We must build batteries in the west.
The Tesla Model Y was the best-selling car model in 2023, topping 1.15 million sales = Google fact!
Another record for EV sales in Norway was set in 2023: 82.4 percent of all new passenger cars sold were fully electric, up from 79.3 percent in 2022. They can't all be wrong! Google fact.
Some Tesla cars will run for 1 million miles - very few engine parts and the batteries can last longer than you think. A Tesla is 50 times less likely to set on fire than a petrol or diesel car! = Google fact.

Financial news normally compares actual results to expected results and Bloomberg certainly know this.
This article would be enough to make me cancel a Bloomberg subscription if I had one.
Ford told investors in 2021 that it would be able to sell 600,000 EVs in 2023.
It had previously projected sales of 300,000 for 2023
The massive investment in EVs was based on this new projection of massive sales
Ford actually sold 192,000 EVs last year and had to massively subsidize each sale.
This isn't just narrowly missed the target - this is a not even in the ballpark level of error.
I'm somewhat surprised that Ford didn't have a major shakeup in the C-Suite to get rid of everyone involved in the fiasco.

I try not to ascribe to malicious intent what can be adequately explained by incompetence. There was a time when a financial publication like Bloomberg would have drawn its employees from the financial industry, where the scrum on the trading floor would weed out the innumerate. These days they're hiring people on the cheap, straight out of journalism school. They know nothing about math, science, economics, business, or even just life. Their editor says "Give me 3000 words on EVs" and they jump on the Internet, Google some statistics from god-knows-where, and regurgitate an article. If they're especially conscientious they might even bother to restate the information they've copied and pasted in their own words.

However, what could be left out is the statistic that 100% of the people who died had read the safety briefing card.

“But actually, he thought as he re-adjusted the Ministry of Plenty's figures, it was not even forgery. It was merely the substitution of one piece of nonsense for another. Most of the material that you were dealing with had no connexion with anything in the real world, not even the kind of connexion that is contained in a direct lie. Statistics were just as much a fantasy in their original version as in their rectified version. A great deal of the time you were expected to make them up out of your head. For example, the Ministry of Plenty's forecast had estimated the output of boots for the quarter at 145 million pairs. The actual output was given as sixty-two millions. Winston, however, in rewriting the forecast, marked the figure down to fifty-seven millions, so as to allow for the usual claim that the quota had been overfulfilled. In any case, sixty-two millions was no nearer the truth than fifty-seven millions, or than 145 millions. Very likely no boots had been produced at all. Likelier still, nobody knew how many had been produced, much less cared. All one knew was that every quarter astronomical numbers of boots were produced on paper, while perhaps half the population of Oceania went barefoot. And so it was with every class of recorded fact, great or small. Everything faded away into a shadow-world in which, finally, even the date of the year had become uncertain.” -1984

The emphasis on "metrics" has become a mantra in modern society-education is seriously affected by it. The problem is that "metrics" are often incorrect to the task to which they are put and manipulated to provide the outcome--often budget or personnel cuts. The other issue with statistics is that to truly understand them one has to understand probability theory. Most people don't including highly trained people. "Metrics" are seldom the best measure for use in politics and policy.

The same goes for risk assessments, there is a UK HSE report I read in research I was making into different risk modeling methods. I was not entirely shocked to find that a large national entity had employed a risk specialist company to back engineer a risk assessment that originally concluded a task could not be completed due to a too high risk level. There were several other instances highlighted, I do wonder how this might be used to demonstrate that Lithium batteries are as safe as any other inert material…..
Manipulating data and information is even more common in all aspects of life, which is why is critical thinking ( or clinical research) is actively discouraged in places of education. The millennials are in the main, not interested in challenging any vested interests, they are programmed that way in order to avoid being cancelled.

they really dont have a choice, at least not in the US. Biden changed the EPA guidelines which dictate a companies emissions requirements by certain years... effectively the only way a company can reach the emissions goals by 2032 is if 2/3rd of their passenger car fleet consists of "zero emissions" vehicles. Otherwise the US Govt just fines them into oblivion anyway. They are stuck between consumers who don't want the product, and a government who is hell bent on pushing it on everyone. And financially the automaker gets to take it in the shorts regardless which one they listen to.
