Can I just say I'm blown away by how open and non judgemental you are. It's so refreshing to see a mother out there bringing other mothers up with them and being so understanding of the world around them ❤
As far as zippered sleepers..Target Cloud Island brand are amazing! They zip up from the bottom, which is great for diaper changing. They are also soft and stretchy and super comfy! The best part is the price. You can buy a three pack for $12.99. They have become my favorite clothes for my 4 month old.
How do you constantly do it?? Any time I need motivation. You got me. Any time I need inspiration- you bring it. And now - as I reach 22 weeks, and stressing a little about what I actually need for baby - your here to calm my nerves and guide me to the basics. Thanks Ange!!

I love how honest you are with the actual needs. I'm a minimalist person, and I live in a small space. Prepping for baby has me all nuts, but reminding myself that 75% of the stuff marketed for babies isn't anything more than just that, a marketing gimmick.

I love love love this video. Hands down the best video I’ve come across so far. Seriously cannot express how much I appreciated this video. I’ve been feeling overwhelmed because I am expecting for the first time and the videos/lists I’ve come across would list a bunch of stuff as necessities that in fact are not actually a “necessity” but more of a convenience I guess you could say so I really just needed a clear cut “what you actually need” and I really feel like you captured that and this has eased my pregnancy nerves so much. Totally agree, my first baby is just 9 months old now and we used basically this stuff (what you said) plus a bouncy chair thing he looooved and thats it
We are expecting our 7th in September and I have to agree with almost everything you said. I personally have just passed on the newborn dock a tot style beds. They all seem a bit pricey for the length of time they are actually in them.
So looking forward to watching this, I'm 22weeks pregnant and have no idea what essentials I need to get without going overboard 😂
Yes! It really can be so basic. I’m the same with clothing...a few onesies and lots of zip up sleepers (they can go through 3-4 in a day!) We really like the Love to Dream swaddles 😊
Really love how real this video is! I've been loving watching these kinds of videos while pregnant (even though this is my third and I already know what I need haha) and some of the suggestions for "newborn basics" are so out there!! ALSO; love you bit about the car seats! I feel so bad for people who aren't aware that the less expensive seats are still safe!

I had the pack n play, the bassinet, the swing, the bouncer, all of those things were wasted. My son absolutely hated them all would not go in them or sleep anywhere but his crib!!! Was also lucky with him and he slept through the night at 2 weeks old. He was an easy baby. Now he will be 13 in December. Where had the time gone lol.

My second was born 2 weeks before my oldest turned 2 I put his swing/bouncy chair in a playpen it worked really well
I loved the video for baby basics! I really want to keep it simple for my little one due in October. I am excited for baby footies with snaps and the snuggle me organic.
This makes me feel so much more prepared for our twins! I got all these things. Now to focus on me because I had the realization last month that these babies have to exit me at some point soon and I am not ready for that 😐

for our twins we had a swing, bouncer, rock and play and pack and play and used every single one of them because each of my boys had different preferences. I had to keep people from getting us two of each though because I definitely didn't have room in my house for all of that. We'll see if the next baby needs all those or not. It definitely varies per baby.

Great advice. It can be so easy to buy a lot of clothes but they change size so often. In saying that I love all the cute baby clothes. I've only fostered older children but I always buy baby clothes for my sisters and friends babies but I buy double OO (3 to 6months size) because most people get new born and the mum ends up with a whole lot of newborn size and time goes fast and all of a sudden baby grows out of everything. Xx

Expecting my 2nd next month... thanks for the video ! I shop a lot at thrift stores for clothes and got all my new baby's clothes as hand me downs! even the car seat was given to us ! Only thing I have left to get is a noise machine since this time we are in a much smaller home and have a toddler running around .. I'm so excited :)

Love all your suggestions! If you’re looking for a stroller, check out the GB Qbit. I’ve been through so many strollers and this has been my favorite by far! It’s super compact but still has all the features I like in a stroller! Wishing you the best with this new addition to your family!

Am I the only one who loathes white clothes for baby? Why is everything white? They get stained so easily and then they just look dirty. Is there some kind of magic laundry trick that I'm missing?
This video made me feel really happy because lately I've been feeling like because I don't have a lot of money, I'm not giving my kids "the best." So many of my friends are buying their babies super expensive gear and excessive amounts of things, and I just can't afford it! I like living my life minimally, but I've just had guilty surrounding that choice (that is partly because I don't HAVE another choice). I feel like we have a good Graco carseat and the basics you've mentioned and our babies will be so happy because of our love, not a $300 swing.
We are having our third child this Feb. With our older two being 12 and a few weeks shy of 11, it's been a while. Lol. I'm glad this video confirms the basics that I was remembering. I was excited to see a reasonably priced stroller, as I'm on the fence about getting a new one with money being tight. Sadly, $350 is out of our budget, but it is super cute!

I got a 12 pack of Terry towel nappy squares and they were the best burp rags, car blanket, spill clean up. I got another colourful pack for kids hand towels haha

Owlina organic on amazon has some really great basic zipper pajamas. We use the white one for our babes monthly picture.
I love loved wearing my baby girl in a wrap. You don’t see it a lot here in Australia, I had a lot of people comment both positive and negative. The most common comments were “Does your baby really like that?” (Said with disbelief) and “Oh my God, can the baby breath?” I’d reply “she’s snuggled against her mama fast asleep, she’s as happy as can be” and “yes she can breathe just fine”. My paediatrician loved that I wore her, he said it’s great for their hips. Can’t wait to meet your little one xx🇦🇺

Definitely do what works for you. We have decided to live a more low-waste life and we have seven children ages five and under; two singletones, triplets and twins. We have never owned a swing, a playpen, a bouncer, we have never used a bottle nor pacifiers.
In my opinion, for my own experience, my NB essentials would be: Breastmilk, cloth diapers and cloth wipes, a Wrap (for babywearing), a car seat, 5-7 “full outfits”, 2-3 thin blankets/swaddles (we also love Copper Pearl!) and one thinker blanket, maybe two if it’s winter. Everything else is just extra IMO.
Also, love the car seat comment at the end! Sometimes we get so caught up on trends and looks; these big brands want your money, so they are going to make you feel like you HAVE TO spend all this money to be a good parent, which is totally false.
Standards are different depending on the country... some countries do extra tests and have higher standards = lower infant mortality rate in car accidents. Look at northern European countries for reference.
Children should be rear facing until 4 years old as well...
Also car seats have an expiry date because materials deteriorate, which means that gifting old car seats and accepting hand me downs isn't the best idea.
Our 3rd is 3 months and still will not take a paci or a bottle 😅

I really loved how simple this is! With my first I was SO overwhelmed by all the things people said I needed and I ended up not using much at all.
