The descending, cyclical arpeggiations of minor triads starting at 0:37 are such a simple addition, but they work SO WELL ! I think this cover outshines the original thanks to these.
@@How_Is_This_A_Name Okay, so basically : the minor triad is a chord (a set of notes played together) composed of a set note (say C), its minor third (the note three semitones above it, so D# for C), and its fifth (the one seven semitones above it, so G for C). Arpeggiating a chord means playing its notes separately instead of simultaneously. And that's what's happening here. The arpeggiations start at the fifth then descend to the fundamental, and loop back - hence why I called them reverse cyclical. Disclaimer : I have no formal musical education and it is possible that there is a better term for this that I'm simply unaware of.
So this is the alternate timeline where Super was ported to the GBA like the Mario Advance Games. This is awesome, it sounds so... speedy, like your rushing to get out of Brinstar.
A timeless classic Metroid tune done in the pure glory of the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon soundfont is always a welcome sight, especially from you. I still regularly load up the Lower Brinstar and Lower Norfair mixes you did some time ago; you have a knack for making these sound absolutely amazing. And that's no different here; this once again rocks my socks off.
This remix - for me, at least, loses _some_ of the weird & nebulous feeling that the diminished chord (the one at 0:40) has that makes me like it so much, but it does make up for that in other areas. Fits right at home in an imaginary dungeon.
Finally you come around and drop this banger at last! It was the Lower Brinstar mix that drew me to this channel at first, so im glad to finally get the other half.
This is SO COOL! I grew up with Mystery Dungeon and am highly familiar with its GBA soundfont. Metroid is something I've been into for less time, but still love. I can't tell you how awesome this is, especially with Upper Brinstar already being such a great track!
Ive been wanting to have this tune remixed as if was from a Mega Man X but with the Super Metroid soundfont. In other words, the composition reimagined as a MMX game tune but still using the SM soundfonts.
I feel this could have also done well with Chrono Trigger sounds, too. But what the heck, a Parabeetle X track is always top notch either way

@@blara2401 you can say descending instead of reverse, that would be a better term
@@marinellovragovic1207 I see, thanks a lot !

Aw yeh, best song in the game with the best song in PMD!!
Lower Norfair could be done with Magma Caverns or Mt. Blaze's soundfont, maybe.
More PMD soundfont please!
this... is love
this is a god tier arrange, the soundfont choice is pretty much perfect, great job!
Hot damn Mystery Dungeon fits so welll O: I need to find more with this soundfont
Dear God...
This works WAY to well and I'm ALL for it!
If you played this to me and didn't tell me this was Metroid remix I'd deadass think it was a PDM Dungeon theme because it sounds soooo authentic.
