i’m sorry but india will never be able to get rid of coal coal powers the majority of india, its cheap and it employs a lot of people india won’t be able to shift to renewable energy for the next 50 to 60 years i would rather have a forest burnt down than letting millions of people die due to lack of electricity

It is quite likely that these forests of Chitravan set on fire due to rising planet temperatures and they where quite strategic in placement as huge snakes used to live in them. Coal serves not only as a source of energy but also as a major component in a plethora of industries. thirdly, the impact of coal mining on gdp can be studied and understood if you look at data. I fully agree that we need cleaner fuel, but the transition needs to be careful and not reckless. And let's not dismiss hundreds of years of development that have been a courtesy of coal mining.
Really? Look at the GDP data countries and the Mining growth and you will know what I am talking about. Look at the jobs generated by the industry, the revenue generated and the prosperity that they bring. A cleaner environment is what we need but only when we don't die because of hunger.
