Amazing review 👌. Joe's voice and intonation changed as he flipped through the driving modes.
Real-life review, no sugar coating, simply brilliant!👍
Thank you bro ❤️
That's the exact colour and config I am picking up on Thursday!
Love the range anxiety at the end. For that money it's it's fully loaded B3 Alpina wagon with change for a few tanks of fuel. Well done. Overtaking or not , when it's wet and twisty the laws of physics will start to assert their authority.
6’4 and the best car reviews galore!
😂
Finally, a true auto enthusiast voicing his honest opinion about EVs. Great review. If and when I do buy one it won’t be a Tesla.
Audi are producing the best looking EVs
I’m addicted to these real life range tests
I assume you watch Kyle Connor of ‘Out of Spec’?
Hi Joe, great review as usual. Electric not for me, great tech and all but way too much planning and faffing about! BTW all thanks to you, I ordered my M340d today, gonna be a long 6 months wait but worth it! Keep up the excellent work
Haha awesome, an M340d is the pinnacle of car technology in 2021, an EV is what the government want us to think is the ultimate.... 😉
Honest review as always! 🙏🏽
That thing is stunning!
i love the music in the back round with time laps
Wife just gave me the company car list and this is on it. I think this will work for her 10 mile commute just fine and there's already a charging point in the house we just moved to. I've driven a 2019 model a while back and liked it quite a bit but had decided there's not enough range as your only car. I'll have a diesel for long trips so I think it's worth getting this for doing day trips and that easy commute.
If I got an electric car the first change would be to replace the noise it has to make with Patrick Star going Wheeeee.
😂👌🏼
The RSQ8-esque wheels look SO good as does the rest of the car. Great colour too!
Best EV review I’ve watched Joe. Bravo 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Cheers Simod, glad you enjoyed it!
Excellent informative review Joe. I am due to replace my managers car next March and he / we as a company are exploring the EV route. His main priority is range and could live with around 225 to 250 as an absolute minimum. 200 for the e-tron sounds good for the weight but would be concerned how much that plummets as you said in the winter, lights, wipers, heater etc.
Yes very interesting. Now give us an update. What did your manager get in the end?
@@kryptoniteee Hyundai Tucson plug in hybrid, he doesn’t get it until March.
Ur fast becoming my favourite car journalist joe another quality video 👍🇦🇺
Thanks Lee, great to hear buddy 👌🏼
Love the ‘range’ uploads, hopefully more to come. You make a fairly unexciting subject very watchable 👍🏼
Hey Joe, been watching your channel since early days. You reviews are now top quality.... well done - good to see 👏👏🙏👍
Thank you ❤️
Just chopped in my Tesla 3p for a Panamera Sport Turismo E Hybrid. Don’t do many long trips but when I do, don’t want to sit down in advance planning re-charge stops. Also, in winter, work on the basis you’ll get about half the advertised range.
Great review Joe! Your view on EVs is refreshing. They are great, and the coming technology, but perhaps only in the next 3 - 4 years will they be irresistible.
Joe suffering behind the wheel for hours in the name of science and for us.😊 . No getting away from EVs in the long run (government legislation has seen to that), but as someone who enjoys driving cars with feel, engagement and character - not to mention having far longer range) - I'll stick to analogue ice cars for a while yet!
Another informative video Joe, which really does help viewers who are looking to invest in an EV.
Thank you!
Such an expensive way to jump on the green bandwagon. The uk is not ready for Ev’s in general, ok for small city runs etc, as a family man with kids and all the hassle of trips to Cornwall and Lake District etc from East Anglia it simply doesn’t work for me. Great honest review again Joe, well done.
Great review Joe, would be good to see a comparison in the winter. As you say, not quite there yet with the EV's but no doubt the range will increase in time
The way that car takes off from a dig looks almost unreal
As ever, great video Joe. Really useful test. But a £90k car that weighs 2.6t and delivers 206 miles? An absolute no-go, especially with the immaturity of the charging infrastructure for non-Teslas. Keep up the real world testing!
I can’t wait for an A6 Allroad EV. It’ll never happen so my next car arriving in 2 months is a diesel version of that - partly thanks to your excellent review. The best not-SUV 4WD out there!
Denham, the only place I know that has a train station for it's golf course!!
Great review, Joe. Lovely car; however for that sort of EV money I’d rather have a Taycan Cross Tourismo. Completely agree with your opinion on Tesla - well said. 👍🏽
Thanks man, yeah the Cross Tourismo looks mega, but back seat space is cramped compared to the e-tron. Cheers
Good review.
Running the battery to 0% will damage it so the real life range will be less than 200miles
Was also thinking about loud music, reasonable bass, air con up high, warm summers day, how that affect things on a trip like this! Also I’m sure the satnav will advise where the chargers are like Mercedes
Excellent that you cover luxury EVs now, in such a beautiful scenery, with your enthusiasm I’m loving so much. Makes me aware what I missed in my many business trips to UK.
Driving dynamics is the only thing I miss much. I would love to hear from you, how you see the difference between the Taycan and the etron GT, as I lust for one?
Luxurious and good for the environment 😎
Yeah... sure about that ? ; )
Luxurious yes, not sure about the environment bit, mostly smoke and mirrors with EV's.
@@JoeAchilles1 ok I understand
I really dont care about the EV speed or torque, what I do appreciate is changing the gears myself and hearing the revs and sound of the engine. I don't think I'll ever be up for EVs, especially not these 2.5 tonnes monsters.
@@dmomcilovic9185 yeah man, Im 28 yo, I totally want to go back 100 years. If they want diversity in the car industry, sure. But dont kill off ICE cars, like joe said, EVs are fun for the first few times you press the "gass" pedal and then they offer nothing. If youre talking about the environment, please. The rich 1% are responsible for 50%++ of the greenhouse gasses. Buy meat and veggies from local farmers, and youre doing more for the planet than driving an EV. In the city I see how EVs are good, but killing off fun sporty ICE cars is a hypocricy.
They ok for commuting, urban, school runs etc.. then at weekend you could drive the sports car.
But as a complete replacement it’s a
No for me
You can easily jump into a diesel car and go for a drive and not have a care in the world whereas a EV you need to plan your trip Bring a jacket so you don’t use the heating , an iPod so you can’t use radio otherwise you drain the battery plus finding charging stations that work with about 3 in a 50 car park average in the uk.
one of the nicest looking evs around. after the taycan. at 95k you could have a taycan tourismo 4s.........
Great listen as always Joe! 👍
Great review Joe! Please can you start reviewing more EVs! Especially BMW PHEVs 👊🏾
Thank you, hopefully get my hands on some BM stuff soon....
Best looking Audi SUV.
I love the e-tron. I have a 2021 55 sportback and rolling acceleration and handling reminds me of my old 2018 S3. The initial standstill acceleration is a little slower than expected I bet Audi could reduce this and make it quicker.
Not for me either 😥 200 it too little. A
I stay with my diesel ⛽ car a bit longer 👍🏾🚗😆
Absolutely, until we're forced into it...
@@JoeAchilles1 yes we are a lot that will stay in our patrol and diesel cars for ad long as possible. But ev is going very fast now. With a lot of discount from the state. The only way the can sell them .at least here in Denmark. But please keep up the very good work you do. I enjoy it 👍🏾🚗🚗
Great review bro. Seeing so many more e-trons on the road and even several sportbacks now too.
Great video. I totally agree we are not ready for them especially with the poor battery recycling, environmental cost to manufacture along with the horrendous range.
I do love the Audi E-tron! This is a great review Joe! Keep up the good work!
Cheers Will 👌🏼
I enjoyed watching the Video. One of my favourite Electric Vehicles
What a peaceful video 🤣
Nice bit of VT there Joe, who doesn't love a bit of EV range testing. Would be great to see you Mr Watson and Yianni do an EV range test together.
Keep up the great work...🎩
Thanks Chris!
Good video! People still don't understand the concept of electric cars... If I would have a house where to charge with Solar Panels as well for example, I would be so happy as I drive 17 miles to work and 17 miles back home and it would cost me almost nothing. This is where electric cars are unbeatable. Not to go to greece. Buy a diesel than. But I don't have place to charge so it's not for me yet...
Great review.... how much does the charing cost compared to what your 7 cost on full tank....
Good review, like you I'll stick with my x5 diesel for now. Not enough charging points for me.
@@dmomcilovic9185 there's on 3 charging points in my part of London, the local council has not place any in the housing estates.
Love these videos, brilliant editing and really smart time lapse footage.....very entertaining for what could be very boring. When these cars do 500 miles on a charge I’ll start to get them but as it is, when I do a 600 mile round trip in a day for work on one tank in my G31, this would add far too much time and inconvenience currently.
Thanks buddy, glad you enjoy them 👌 Agree re the range, I'm in no hurry to go EV 🙄
That epic music again!!
I’m with you Joe.......not ready for an EV.
OMG; you can see the disadvantages of the large rims and the sporty equipment extremely. An insignificantly slower e-tron 55 would provide 50 miles more real range. The villiage you are drving through looks so beatifull but the road seems a bit narrow or the car a bit wide :D
The power figures almost match that of the original super fast SUV, the Q7 V12 TDI. This feels like it is the modern reincarnation of that car.
Great review as always.
So I have no such need for big practical SUVs yet I have no interest in small hatchback size EVs. So Im forever wondering where the style going to come from?
Where's the roaster maybe the hot hatchbacks that excite the driver, the cars that we drive not because we're going to work or to pick up the kids but just for the joy of driving on days like in your video.
I despair, no engine noise no joy of driving are we a dying breed
Your view on a 545e would be great Joe. Should be ‘better’ than this car on almost all counts.
Great video as always. Real life test.
Thanks Ben!
With the amount of trips I do between Northumberland and Sussex, an EV is a no-go for me.
Well that’s good to know!
That's the problem, EV's just don't work full stop for some people....
@@JoeAchilles1 I think even if range was improved, the anxiety would leave my rear twitching the entire journey. Was pleased to hear your thoughts on EV’s.
@@jamesfrost6300 cheers petal.
Liked your video! I live in Charlbury! Great driving around here!
Very interesting video joe. My sq7 can go back and I have been looking at a replacement. Not sure I would pay the extra for the S as I think the error would just do fine.
That's an interesting machine....i wonder if I will ever own one ☹....currently own a 2015 Mercedes E Class
Great vid Joe as always, love this ev but dread the thought of being in winter, freezing cold, raining, heat and seat heats on, kids in the back, stuck in traffic with the kids and battery light flashing... Nahhh not for me, ill stick to my S Class diesel... Topman Joe
Really interesting video Joe. As I asked when you wanted questions, I wanted to know if the Mrs could get to head office in Bournemouth from Stoke.
Just like yourself, I don't think we're quite there yet. We wouldn't be able to do Cornwall in on hit and we always leave early to miss traffic.
I also agree with you on Tesla's, they're bloody awful. The Audi looks like a normal car.
Joe, I think we will keep the old bus for a little longer. She just keeps on going. F10 5 series. What a car.👍
Great review just how reviews should be not like some who throw the parcel shelf over a hedge. Anyway great looks car, I’ve got the Jaguar I-Pace and love it, admittedly I have a home charger and cheap tariff.
Hi joe very nice review with the car and I think Audi car design is really good for the past few years now and I think Audi is for me 😊and for me a Ev car is good enough
is nice car
It is 👌🏼
I’m with you Joe, good review and summary
Good video ! Thank. You 🔥
Thanks for watching!
Even 250 miles is still very low for an suv....I don’t get Audi, why build a big family suv that’s only good for city driving and living?
Because they have limited experience building BEVs. Their expertise is building ICE vehicles.
I'd love to have one of these next to my RS6 but I just can't get over the range.
Top review Joe, like you i'm not ready for EV's even though they are creeping into the back of my mind, sounds like it won't be long before the torque will snap your neck, at least the drive can still be fun! My major concern is the battery lifespan, say i was to buy a 4 year old e-tron in the future, would i have to replace aa battery, as range has got to shorten over time i would imagine?
Great video and nice to see that your site is growing, keep it up and keep it real ;)
The UK is a beautiful country, I love those villages , such a shame about what the country has become .
970 nm? Wow. That’s a lot of torque for a mini SUV.
How long/range added did you charge up at the end? What time did you have dinner? Real world test demands real world Q&A 😆
Great and thanks for your Video. 👌
Great vid! I’ve just put a deposit down on one! The vorsprung edition! I’m new to ev’s, how much will it cost to fill up at a charging station roughly and what sort of cost is it to charge over night at your house? Thanks in advance 😊
Great review as always Joe. How much you paid to charge it at the BP station?
Renember when you raced with him
Good looking SUV
Joe. I worked in Aylesbury for 26 years
that is one nice motor dude 👍👍👍
maybe one day ....
Nice video. Do you think you could have improved the range even further by setting up the Bluetooth to your phone so it wasn’t hunting for it? 😁
great vid, Joe!
Efficiency mode is key for range, it’s so much more “efficient” in that mode
It adds about 3-5 miles. This was a real life test, owners aren't going to drive around in efficiency.
Nice one Joe, how long does it take to charge fully
Great review Joe, more real world reviews on EV cars needed, always too much focus on trying to better 0-60 times of ICE sports cars. My Q5 diesel will do 640 miles on a tank.....so 200miles isn’t great for me as a 20K a year commuter. Dread to think what this would be like on a cold winters day...

Well done Audi. Looks the bomb. Still not me these SUVs. Though.
Love This
Why didn’t you drive it in “range” mode rather than comfort?
That would’ve been a proper range test.
However, that’s a good bit of distance covered. Surprisingly good for an Audi on an ICE platform.
im now subscribed, joe!
Hi to Denham. Is Biggles still there at the aerodrome? I spent my formative years in Ricky then moved north as soon as I was allowed 🤣
PS the car stuff is fascinating too!
Great video
Just bought and Etron, noticing an obnoxious braking sound every time I press the brake even sparingly…Am I missing anything here?
Would have loved to have seen the look on your partner’s face when you launched Joe 😀
Hey joe, thanks for another quality video! Quick question, looking to get a new car soon, and in that budget i’m looking for either the 2017 420d as its my fav bmw shape but ideally wanted more power. 2016 330d is the only i could afford in my budget. I’ve either got to go with looks or the engine, what would you go for and how much worse is real world economy in the f30 330d?
This will be too late but go for engine over looks, you can’t see the car when you’re driving it. But you can get the excitement of power.
Nice one joe 👌
Where does this vehicle size fit comparing with other Audi Q models
, Q3,5,7,8?
Half way between 5 and 7 really
Good review will never buy an electric unless I have to 340d full tank 800k and 4.7 secs from 0-60
How often are you driving 500 miles in one day without taking a 20-30 minute stop?
