Seeing the liturgical service I think that the Armenian Church is more close to the Catholic Church then the Orthodox Church. Assyrian Church or Coptic Church I see more close in their liturgical service with the Orthodox Church.
The early church had a variety of liturgical traditions, of which Byzantine is just one. Rome, too, was Orthodox, and there is a small but restored Western Rite presence in Orthodoxy, by the way. The theology of the Armenian Church is Orthodox, and virtually all Eastern Orthodox I know consider the Oriental Orthodox their Orthodox brothers, even if communion has yet to be fully restored.
@Monarquia No Brasil yes the true Orthodox Church, the Oriental Orthodox Church, has many rites, the Syriac rite, the Coptic rite, the Armenian rite, and variants like the Ethiopian or malankara rite. The byzantines only have about one rite, the Byzantine one, and to a way lesser percentage a western rite. They wiped out the old rites of the churches and made them all Byzantine.
That is nice. Have you ever been to the Orthodox Cathedral in Tokyo? It is called St. Nicholas. Their choir is beautiful. It is a different style from Armenian traditional church, but it is well worth going to a service
The choir soloist singing back and forth with the deacons from about 1:13:00 to 1:17:35 ... ❤️❤️❤️❤️ what a beautiful and sweet voice. And something I have been noticing from this film and other filmed Armenian liturgies is that seemingly all Armenian clerics have had vocal training and/or naturally good voices. The presider of this liturgy also has a wonderful voice - very powerful and resonant. Do Armenian seminaries require vocal and musical training? I have worked on and off as a music director for the Roman Catholics and you often get priests who can't sing, are afraid to sing/won't sing, or sound awful. Even those who sound good rarely know anything about music and are usually musically illiterate.
Yes, seminaries require musical training and vocal training. I am a deacon in the Armenian Church and while you learn music, they give you voice lessons.
Armenian Apostolic Church (while united with Oriental orthodox) is neither really orthodox or catholic. They are there own rite and one of the oldest rites out of there. As a Catholic I pray that the Armenian Church may continue to thrive and that God protects it from the corrupt christians

I'm a traditional Roman Catholic (Traditional Latin Mass only) and while this is aesthetically different, I can recognize a great many similarities to the Mass. This is also a supremely beautiful liturgy in a similar way. You can easily see that this liturgy was crafted by the Holy Ghost, and it's sublime beauty is timeless. Apparently Armenians have retained tradition, while many of our bishops (not mine- mine is a very holy man) despise anything traditional. Good for the Armenians! I pray they continue to stand fast for their ancient liturgy. On a side note; why aren't we being "ecumenical" with Eastern Christians? Wouldn't uniting with our brothers to the East strengthen both of us? Yet the Holy Father and others are obsessed with these buffoonish Lutherans, where the youngest member is 60 in most places! No more ecumenism with Liberal Protestants! Let's look East for allies. Or at least reach out to the evangelical protestants, who still believe in Christ.
Mark Valens After Roman Catholic Church turned its view on the East last time - there were florish an uniatism (like armenian catholic, greec-catholic and so on). So I strongly doubt, despite I greetng you intence. Ironicaly, being traditionalist christian often demand to share an ancient controvercy between our Churches. Tradition make us believe that there could be only one and true Chuch of Christ and without it there coudn't be any salvation. Radically liberal christians have no problem with this, because they recognise any of dogmats as smth that coulb be easelly overcome. That is why they have no problem with union or false ecumenism.
Straight White Male is there a difference between "unite with catholic under the Pope and with recognition of him as a head of Orthodox Church in the One Church" (uniatism) and "acting together with catholics without the Pope and only in questions where we share common values (like pro-life, traditional marrige, heterosexuality etc.)"? I think here we have a difference: acting together doesn't lead to recognition Pope as supreme head of Church e.t.c
THANK YOU!! I believe the same! The future is with our Catholic brothers and sisters, protestant and evangelicals are heretics and blasphemers! They are a product of zionism and have corrupted society and especially the Holy Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ. They are what has driven Christians away from the church, society away from religion and to the unfamiliar, their stupid LITERAL belief of the Bible makes ALL Christians look like uneducated morons who believe the world is flat! Protestants are NOT Christians! The ONLY Christians are the Orthodox and Catholics! If you weren't founded by a disciple of Our Lord Jesus Christ, your church is INVALID!
Александр Черных The reason why ortosox wont reunite with roman catholocs is they chabge lot of things in liturgies customs and doing differemt then Jesus said and that is herecy. While ortodox liturgies is same as 2000 years ago.
The Armenian church was the FIRST national church in the history of the world. It was created in 301AD, decades before Constantine proclaimed the Roman Empire as a Christian Empire.
Armenia was the first country to officially establish Christianity as its national Church, back when Christianity was one, but the original Church is the Orthodox Church.

wow I loved every moment, felt like heaven even though I don't understand the language I couldn't quite follow along too. I'm Roman Catholic. Is this how a typical mass is celebrated in Armenia Church or is this a special celebration? Also, I noticed there are no pews (chairs) Is this also a normal thing? I'm really curious to know, can someone please help me answer. I would love to be physically present in this Church some day God willing. Thanks in advance
No this is typical Divine Liturgy (our name for mass). This is how it is EVERY Sunday, about 2 hours long from beginning to end. This one is kinda short. On Special occasions like xmas or easter it is MUCH more beautiful and about 30 minutes longer.
I belong to Latin Rite or Roman Catholic or also called as Western Catholics. And I noticed that their divine liturgy or Holy Mass is very very beautiful. I can say it has some similarities in Roman Rite Tridentine Mass because the Celebrant most of the times is facing the altar during prayers. Good to know that most of our Eastern Catholics continue to celebrate the traditional practice of facing east during mass, which I hope would be revived in most of our masses in Latin Rite. For some of our Eastern Catholic brethren, I suggest if you could watch also videos of the Tridentine Mass Rite of the Roman Catholic. God bless
HELLO! Truly an beautiful rite. I'm interested in knowing who these people are entering at 33:24, and why are they coming in a procession in the midst of the mass? does it have a symbolic meaning?
Stay strong, Armenian and Georgian brothers! Our Latin Rite was already destroyed by Council Vatican II and the Novus Ordo. Do not let yourselves contaminate with the protestant and liberal spirit that reigns in Rome. Your liturgy is truly respectful, divine, and legitimate. May God bless us all in these difficult times.
Eastern Christianity has a strong doctrine of "Do not change anything unless very necessary",So we can see them keeping their traditions for thousand years to come
You can start hearing from your guardian angel if you will ask him to teach you to hear from angels. We have been hearing from our angels and we know it is a beautiful experience. Do not be afraid of asking your guardian angel to teach you to hear him.

Yeah, different influences from different adjoining cultures. The Armenian churches in Iran have an amazing amount of Persian/iranian & even slight zoroastrian influence. Confluent to that, many Persian buildings have Armenian & byzantine influence. Did you know that many of the great ottoman towers & palaces were designed & built by the Armenian Balyan family? Each culture in Anatolia has borrowed from the others to some extent. Its a natural thing.
I have a couple of questions: 1. I assume that was Catholicos Garegin with the Cross on his cowl. Why isn't he the celebrant at the anaphora? 2. I assume that all those monks processed out to escort the Catholicos into the church. Why did they enter at the beginning o the Liturgy in the first place? Is there some significance in their leaving? 3. Why does the cameraman keep focusing in on that dark-haired singer with the bangs? Wait...nevermind. I think I know why. Didn't St. John Chrysostom once preach a sermon about going to church for that sort of thing? ;-p

How beutiful the liturgy sounds!Pax Domini . The Lord have mercy.Greeting from Japan, I am christian who belong to Anglican Church in Japan :D.
That is nice. Have you ever been to the Orthodox Cathedral in Tokyo? It is called St. Nicholas. Their choir is beautiful. It is a different style from Armenian traditional church, but it is well worth going to a service
@@Janine11155 I have been to orthodox church in osaka and Coptic orthodox church in Kyoto.
Those divine liturgy are amazing!

I am a Byzantine Catholic in communion with Rome, and this Liturgy is beautiful. Greetings from Albania!
Beautiful liturgy. God bless the Armenian Apostolic Church! 🙏
Beautiful and inspiring !
The prayer starting at 31:03 always gets me in my soul... May everyone be bless
Armenian Apostolic Church (while united with Oriental orthodox) is neither really orthodox or catholic. They are there own rite and one of the oldest rites out of there. As a Catholic I pray that the Armenian Church may continue to thrive and that God protects it from the corrupt christians
They are fully Orthodox and Catholic, as are all and every single one of the Oriental Orthodox Churches. They are Orthodox but not greek, they are Catholic but not Roman
@@danielmia5953 I know that but unlike the other churches they have a very close relationship with Rome.
@@pipsasqeak820 I would say every Church is close to Rome in modern times, they all take photos together and visit eachother. Though theologically we are far from them and not in communion
@@danielmia5953 historically Armenia have been close, even a period where they came into full communion
@@pipsasqeak820 when? As far as I know since Rome separated from the Church the only armenains who came to communion with it were the Armenians who left the Church to join the Romans

Greetings from Indonesian Protestant Christian, I love fellow Christian from Catholics and Orthodox, always love the way Orthodox do their worship and praise to our Lord.
I feel the lack of Protestant in showing the symbol of sacredness on our way of doing things compare to Catholics and Orthodox, therefore i deeply admired this kind of videos which show the amount of love and high standard given for each ceremony.
Peace be with us all and may the Lord Jesus be with us forever.
Absolutely beautiful. Shnorhagalootyoon

THANK YOU SO MUCH Lord Jesus Christos for this fellowship with you and you children,
Die armenische göttliche Liturgie fasziniert durch ihre erhabene Schlichtheit und führt in die apostolische Einfachheit der frühen Kirche. Ich bin immer wieder sehr erbaut.

Thank you for the sharing of the Badarak...I sang along and felt much more healthy...thank you again...
Beautiful!
Beautiful singing!
Armenian chant precedes Gregorian by about 150 yrs. Georgian and others, I dont' know about. There will be others long lost.
The Spirit gives life. 🕊
I'm Roman Catholic I was always told that the Armenian Church is one of the oldest Christian sects back to the second or third pope
Armenia adopted Christianity as its national religion in 301 AD
The Armenian church was the FIRST national church in the history of the world. It was created in 301AD, decades before Constantine proclaimed the Roman Empire as a Christian Empire.
Armenia was the first country to officially establish Christianity as its national Church, back when Christianity was one, but the original Church is the Orthodox Church.
Niko Delmedico The Oriental Orthodox Non-Chalcedonian Church is the true and original Church
Severus of Antioch
Incorrect. They were anathematized at the Ecumenical Council of Chalcedon, they left the Church willingly.
It's very beautiful! If I took the Eucharisty in Armenian Tample, I think, I cryed. Peace and Faith to everyone armenian, and let finish this fight between Armenia and Azerbaijan!❤️🫶📿☦️

Hello from malaysia,South East Asia..I'm from Roman Catholic Church,God Bless Us All,God Bless Armenian💗💗💗💗💗💗We Are Brother & Sister In The Name Of Lord Jesus Christ💗💗💗
wow I loved every moment, felt like heaven even though I don't understand the language I couldn't quite follow along too.
Florence, if you go to an Armenian church in the US you will see the same liturgy, but you will be able to sit in pews, which are plentiful
God bless
same service every sunday in every armenian church throughout the world
@@paulcatamora2772 this is from the Armenian Apostolic Oriental Orthodox Church not from the Eastern Catholic church created in the 1500s
HELLO! Truly an beautiful rite.
I'm interested in knowing who these people are entering at 33:24, and why are they coming in a procession in the midst of the mass? does it have a symbolic meaning?
BEAUTIFUL!!
How rich our Catholic faith is! Beautiful Divine Liturgy. We are truly blessed to have such diversity within Mother Church.
this is a liturgy from a church not in communion with Rome
@@diansc7322armenian catholic mass is almost the same tbh
Thank you 🙏
I like to see symbols like sun and arevakhach in Armenian Apostolic church. We have the same symbols in Dersim (Tunceli).
Eastern Christianity has a strong doctrine of "Do not change anything unless very necessary",So we can see them keeping their traditions for thousand years to come
You can start hearing from your guardian angel if you will ask him to

Auguri

The Face of God
Beloved Armenian brothers and sisters,
It was impossible for man to physically or spiritually ever know His Creator unless God wanted to reveal Himelf to man AND HE DID THIS FROM THE BEGINING!
God is without a beginning, or an end, he is Eternal, Un created, Invariable, Unchanging, Simple, Body-less, Invisible, Infinite, unlimited, Incomprehensible, Indifferent to the mind, Righteous Fair, Creator of all known and unknown life, everywhere present , omnipotent".….
God did not want Adam and Eve or any of His angels to OBEY HIM because they ~fear of Him~ or because He was to be known as a cloud of thundering light and fire to them ….He wanted all of His creations to obay Him ...because the love Him! This is why He was known to them as a person as a man! [Genesis 3:8] “And they heard the voice of the Lord God walking in the garden in the afternoon; and both Adam and his wife hid themselves from the face of the Lord God in the midst of the trees of the garden”
He followed Adam and Eve to their exile ....He assumed a human nature so man could know Him personally ruclips.net/video/D60ny23v_b8/видео.html
GOD IS LIGHT AND THE SAINTS IN THE HOLY SPIRIT BECOME LIGHT [Acts: 6-15] " 15 And all that sat in the He face council, looking stedfastly on him, saw his face as it had been the face of an angel. The Image and Likeness of God ruclips.net/video/ezItFNpdnVY/видео.html
If the Salvation does not include the return to the presence of God...what good is it?
The vision of Divine Light This is what Lord Jesus told St. Symeon when He became worthy to His presence in His Divine Light. “It is me, God, Who became man for you; and behold that I have made you, as you see, and shall make you god”. www.monachos.net/content/patristics/studies-fathers/67
Jesus did not come to teach philosophically but THERAPEUTICALLY. “You can not come to where I am going with sins”. [John 8:21] The term "Orthodox Psychotherapy" does not refer to specific cases of people suffering from psychological problems of neurosis. iI refers to people disabled because of sin from ever being able to having communion (PERSON to person) with God. www.johnsanidopoulos.com/2013/03/the-foundations-of-orthodox.html

Armenian Orthodox mass and Syrian Orthodox mass are same??
No, it's a different Liturgical rite
What is the name of chant on 1:52:25?
This> Rock concerts that Evangelicals call praise and worship
Dear Armenians, can you explain please, why are you using the organ when you're serving? And have you temples where don't use organ? Thank you!
Armenian church most ancient one, closer to the pure Christianity how it has to be ❤ visit at least once Armenian liturgy and you will be nicely impressed ❤
Wow beautiful.
is it true that the Armenian liturgy is based off the Antiochian liturgy?
Mainly yes. The text consists of the old traditions of the early Church and there are some inventions of the Armenian fathers like Gregor Narekatsi
song from 1:05:24
It is the Litany of Intercession
Are the traditions of the Lord and his Apostles still being maintained today or have they been forgotten?
The paintings in this church seem very different compared to the Armenian churchs in Turkey.
Sıradan Çinko Karbon Pil I'm Armenian and I heard there are still alot of church's in Turkey. I am a descend from Adana .
Cilician King_AR yes there are many, but there has to be more. At least we can rebuild or renovate some of the historically important ones (like in Kozan or Muş etc) as confidence building measure. I'm from Kayseri.
Best
Sıradan Çinko Karbon Pil yea I agree there has to be more maybe . Anatolia is a mix of so many unique history and culture.
@@dr.spectre9697 Interesting... My last name is Balayan, difference in only 1 letter.
handsome people those armenians...
I have a couple of questions:
Didn't St. John Chrysostom once preach a sermon about going to church for that sort of thing? ;-p
