quick tip for you all: you can remove visual recoil of guns in options under - interface -> camera sway intensity. helps a lot with hitting heretics more consistently
Im glad to know that players good enough to tackle damnation in pugs also dodge off a ledge and wind up hanging there like a fool lol maybe theres hope for me too
As far as I can tell, an Ogryn with the shield and club, a psycher with the shock staff, and a Vet to deal with ranged units is one of the best set ups for Damnation. I've seen other set ups clear it before, but not as easily. The 4th slot is flexible. Also, the day they implement friendly fire vet mains are gonna be mad AF lol given how often people love to dodge right into the vet line of fire. If the vets don't kill ranged units tho, everyone dies because of just how strong shooters are in this game.
Agreed, me and a bunch of friends went 18/18 on damnation even knocking out all of our hardest penances. Such as letting the psyker do 90% damage to a daemonhost, a ogryn charge a large group or getting 100% accuracy on veteran
The Type XII Kantreal really is the sharpshooter's best friend. Steady, accurate damage with some of the best ammo economy of the lot, especially compared to what the Lucius variants can even try to do with similar battery usage.
Absolutely. It's just reliable and consistent DPS with no gimmick. The Lucius have great damage per shot on a full charge, but by the time it charges and fires, you could fire two, or even 3 depending on the roll, shots from a Type XII and be doing more overall damage. The only downside to Lasguns is no damage to Carapace armor, but if you have a Psyker or a Zealot, it won't hold you back. Personal favorite though are the Recon Lasguns. So easy to use, so fun, and stellar horde clear.
1:35 Where in the blue hell do you all know that from?.. Like, wouldn't a normal guardsman be at least disgusted or confused to learn that his beloved Emperor is a weird psychic entity that must feed on souls to prolong its existence?
Maybe that info is a 'perk' of being in the service of an Inquisitor. Maybe that lack of disgust is why they were selected for Inquisitorial service in the first place

You should give a try to the Graia Mk 8 autogun and/or the vlaks mk 3 headhunter, I think they have as much potential as the lasgun you're using, if not better !
I've found the problem with autoguns is either the spread pattern or the recoil. Lasguns are just so damn accurate. And neither can penetrate carapace so they're matched on armor effectiveness in the end.
@@hadoken95 I think it's manageable. The graia you can manually burst fire (2-3 shots) at long range or full at close. Which is more efficient than the lasgun imo. Also the vlaks is by default a Rafal gun, so not so hard to manage either. I play both in heresy and find them better than the lasgun. With lasgun, if you miss a shot, it means lot of DPS loss. With autogun you can miss a bullet and adjust if necessary. Combined with crit talent 25, the DPS is way better than the lasgun. I also use the 10 talent reload speed because both have low clip size. The version of the guns I mentioned are important also, the alternative are not as effective.
How are you getting such a miniscule amount of mobs? I get more mobs on malice playthroughs than you got in this video... Even when you did get a bit of a clump of mobs it still wasn't anywhere near the amount I get torn apart by on damnation.
I am running the Lasgun with these talents: 1-3-1-1-3-2 This will tag all range mobs, will give you almost pernament Volley Fire, make you immune to range damage. Way better build for the Lasgun imo. And silce lasgun is useless against carapace i have the unlimited granades to stagges ogres and monstrosities to help allies and myself.
I haven’t played Darktide yet and from all I’ve seen I’m gonna wait for a free weekend, it looks really, I don’t wanna say bad, but it’s the only word that comes to mind, compared to V2 it looks like a step back.
I'm about 40/50 hours in, and it is a step backwards in a number of ways. I'm enjoying it but I'm also very concerned, they've made some really strange design choices, they've actually introduced problems that would be sovled by just doing it the way it's done in vt2
@@Deleteyourself83 I see, I think I’d enjoy it too, just because of the setting, but then I might as well play any other 40k game. The two things I’m really concerned about ist melee, which, at least from the footage I’ve seen, looks really unnecessary. As if they swapped the amount of melee and ranged combat from V2 which I’m absolutely no fan of. And the second thing is no modding, if Core and his friends beat the highest difficulty in the beta, while underleveled and with random gear and Choco does it with a group of casual players I’m really concerned about replayability.
@@markus6210I'd say in v2 it was say 3/4 melee to ranged, maybe 5/6, and Darktide is 50/50 at a min. It's like shoot everything until you get a horde and if you have a front liner you could probably shoot the horde down too if you wanted to. I can't comment on the difficulty yet as I'm still levelling characters, but i'm also concerned about replay-ability. Maps are already becoming stale, running backwards and forwards through the same map does not make a new map. No modding, no sharing weapons or charms between characters, which really sucks as most weapons are universal with a few char specific ones. Radial menu for comms sucks, no crafting, weird sprint mechanic that shares stamina with block... The hub is just one room, with 4/5 vendors. Nothing like the V2 hub, basically just a bigger version of the red moon inn in V1. Strange thing to complain about maybe but I dunno, kinda miss the charm. Anyway, fingers crossed that it will be as good as the vermintide games
does the crit chance + stability talent still work when you run out of stamina ? i feel like if it doesn’t work if you have no stamina it’s quite bad (imo)
Regardless if it does or doesn't it is a very weapon specific talent. The Revolver for example shines greatly due to the crit bonuses it already receives from its base stats. Mix that with two +2 stam curios for added duration and you can do a lot of damage while also have a great mobility side arm. Limited ammo and slow reloads being the only major drawbacks.
The stability and crit chance stop working once your stamina runs out, yes. Once your stam's gone, you're back to your normal firing pattern. The trait's meant to reward bursts of fire rather than just nonstop shooting, but even with the limitations, it's a damned good choice for the Type XII. Paired with the "stamina on ranged dodge" talent at 20, you can duel enemy shooters for a damned long time and come out on top.
