The Blackhawks played at Chicago Stadium for the Stadium’s ENTIRE history; 1929-1994. The Bulls played there from 1968-1994. To put it into perspective, the Blackhawks played there 40 YEARS before the Bulls ever set foot in the place. The Stadium was owned by the Wirtz family for most of its history, expect for the first few years in the early 1930’s. The Wirtz’s also owned the Blackhawks. The Chicago Stadium and the Blackhawks were intertwined. The Bulls were only tenants and were not as an intimate part of Chicago Stadium’s history as the Blackhawks and hockey were.
