it's kinda power rangers, but also not, it's based on a Japanese genre, the originals before power rangers, called tokusatsu, specifically super sentai, power rangers predecessor. the explosions tend to happen a lot in tokusatsu/power rangers, hence why there was so many. and the team finisher, mechanical, all that are staples.
I want to point out that power rangers isn't a cartoon lol. It was more of a live action. It had real people. So the thing about this anime that makes it so fun to watch is that the MC is just so different from others. Even the second episode is really good too.
Honestly, I don't even know if I can call this series a Super Sentai Parody. Sure there's a lot of lampshade hanging of the tropes, but from the design of the equipment/mecha alone I can tell a LOT of serious thought was put into this show. I will say that when it comes to Power Rangers and Super Sentai... While the former is supposed to be an adaptation of the latter, there's definitely a different feel to the two shows. So if you haven't gotten a taste of Super Sentai out of Power Rangers, this show will give you a good idea on what that flavor is like despite the fact that this is an Isekai.

Don't the explosions happen all the time in PR? Thy use the same ranger footage like 90% of the time.
