The roberts gripper shears are cheaper copies of the crain ones, ive had the crains for about 3 years now, they cost about £60 and you can a pack of 12 blades for about £6, compared to the stupid orange ones that are about £20 and blades are like £12? The ammount of orange gripper cutters i went through was ridiculous, the bolts would come out, the mechanism would sieze and theyd blunt pretty quickly. I change my blades every 2 of 3 houses so i have a fresh sharp cutter very often. Way way better, and once youre used to them you can mitre anything way better than the little orange ones

The first gripper shears you looked at, are a bit bulky and a bit harder to see where you are cutting, but they are designed to be used against the floor, so if like me, you have arthritis or other problems with your hands, they are quite useful

I'm curious as to why you do not use regular carpet knives with slotted blades?

Enjoyed the vid Gentlemen. My seam iron went into a ammo case for £3 from the army & navy store many years ago.
