Our Hinged Cover for 36-inch Blackstone Griddles with Rear Grease Collection mounts easily to your griddle base using included mounting hardware.
Increase the versatility of your griddle by adding the Backyard Life Gear Hinged Hood. Protect your griddle from the weather, use the hood as an all over melting dome, and keep the heat where it matters.
No holes need to be drilled and your griddle doesn't need to be modified to attach this hood.
Tools needed to install: Drill with #2 Phillips bit and Phillips screwdriver.
NOTE: Not compatible with griddles with right side grease collection without modification.

excellent video without it I would never have figured out how to install since no instructions came with the top.
We've used this griddler for a variety of items including steak, fish, vegetables ruclips.net/user/postUgkxMcXT6_MuT0hB3ejyGQQHaeof9bwoWPUf and mushrooms and it's been great! Gets that great smokey flavor when using high heat or sear. The grill works amazingly simple and very low smoke for what it is. Heat gets up fairly quick, especially on closed position. The griddler side is fairly simple, better for eggs and pancakes rather than any cooking. Use the flat plates with the grill side if needed.Cleanup is easy and having heat on both sides is great for cooking a large amount or panini press.This definitely gets hot though so be careful with the sides.

One view of this video and I knew I had to get one. Fits and works great! One suggestion that I'd like to offer to make it even better is to add a blow-down lock(s) on it to keep it open and from being blown down by the wind! I had to quickly "redneck" a temporary one on mine right after the first time I used it. The wind here in the Midwest seems to always be blowing and it caught that big lid and slammed it down hard and fast! Thankfully I didn't have a hand over the griddle at the time. It could have been bad. I can't post pictures here of what I did, but I attached a piece of thick fencing wire through the holes on the lid on the sides at the back and bent them into hooks that fit over the griddle sides when the lid is up. Not professional-looking, but they work and now it is a lot safer for me to use here in windy conditions.

Could you tell me if the wind can blow it down when it’s in the up position?
@@11cmower mine is in a screened in patio, so it's not used in high wind. I suppose if you had a strong enough wind than yes, it could fall down.

Do you make a better handle? I mean one that is not just bent strap? Like a wood handle?
Do you sell just the hinges? And will it work with any lids? I have a cover that I bought for my 28inch griddle I would like to put it on hinges rather then taking it on and off
If the rear of grill with this lid doesn’t face a covered area or a wall water will constantly get into grill. My neighbor has this lid Ann’s while lid works the back is open and water get on back of griddle and rusts continuously.

I was really interested in this, but it's nearly double the cost of the standard hang-on-back lid which means I'd be paying $80 for a hinge kit??? I might've been sold if there was some built in wind stop or catch. This is definitely the nicest of the hinged lids available though.
Do you sell the mounting Hardware, I bought this exact one from ebay and the hinges were missing, I don't want to hassle with shipping it back and they will not send me just the hinges.

How big of a gap / space is there in the back when the lid is closed and will it work for Blackstone model number 1863? Since the side shelves are higher
Approximately 1.75 inches. Yes, it will work with model 1863. The side shelf brackets need to be removed to add the hood mounting brackets but then they go right back in place.
Where do you get just the hardware ( hinge)... I have the hood and no way to attach it...thanks
The hinge system won't work with a standard flat cover so we don't offer it as a stand alone. Other covers are too small to be able to pivot open and they are shorter than the hinges version. Sorry!
Any idea if this would fit the Nexgrill 36" griddle? REALLY interested in getting one of these. Seems like I have all the same holes/screws on mine.
It fits the griddle however either the mounting brackets or the side shelves need to be modified for the side shelves to be mounted. The cover mounting brackets block the rear holes for the side shelves as they are.

Can you do a video for the camp chef hinged cover?
We will. It installs the same way as this one but the mounting brackets get attached using different holes.
The Camp Chef brackets get mounted using the screws that hold the rear side shelf brackets in place.
How much clearance do you need in the back with the lid open?
The cover sticks out less than the grease cup by about 1/2 to 3/4 inch. If there is room for the grease cup, there is room for the cover. Thanks!

Screws for this are unbelievably cheap. Even China couldn’t find a way to make them of a lower quality.

Yes, our 28-inch Hinged Cover will work with that model. You'll have to remove the side shelves to install the hinge brackets but then they go right back into place. Thanks!
