Hi Martin, Thanks very much. I have a few problems with the running of it, it runs very rich. I have adjusted the air screw right out. I tried it without the air filter and it ran beautifully. I am half way coming up with a solution for the next video. I must get on with the lawnmower for the week after. Take care, Jeff
Hey Jeff.....welcome back.....good to see a little FZ......it looks in really good condition.......hope you are well and as always.....thanks for the video
Hi Adam, it's good to be back. I did miss the FZ50 from before. It was a shame to sell the Mobylette, but I think it will be a more usable classic. I'm having a few issues at the moment, which will be in next week's video. I've had to stop for a couple days as I am off sick, I have a trapped nerve in the shoulder, but couldn't sleep at all a couple of nights ago. I will have to get on a bit with the lawn mower for the video the week after. Take care, Jeff
Hi, yes it's fundamentally sound just a bit of cosmetics. I have had a bit of a running issue, but that will be in next week's video. I did miss my previous FZ50 that I lost in the fire. It was fun to ride so thought I would get another. Take care, Jeff
Hi David and thank you. I did look at RS Motorcycle paint, but I find them a bit expensive with the postage. I managed to find a paint manufacturer locally and he scanned it for me. It was £34 for 250ml, which I'm sure should be enough. Thanks again for your help. Take care, Jeff
Hi Sue, it was a shame to get rid of the Mobylette, but I needed the room. The new one should come up great, but I'm having a few issues with it running rich. I have changed the piston and now it has very good compression. It could be something to do with the carburettor, but I will get there in the end, it's all part of the enjoyment ( sort of ) My mum is Just the same, still bed bound. I see her everyday, but sort of dread what state she will be in. I hope that your mum is doing OK, it is very worrying for us. Take care, Jeff and Jenny xx
Hi Jeff , hope your well, that's a nice little FZ look great for a 45 year old moped, just a few little jobs be good as new, oil change fresh petrol and 2-stroke oil and with 4000 mile on it the engine has not been run in and it sounds sweet. you got a good bike there it looks like a keeper. As always a great video Take care
Hi Shaun, thank you not to bad apart from being off work for a couple of days with a trapped nerve in my shoulder. I have a couple of rest days now, so hopefully can manage a gentle bit of work on the Suzuki. I have managed to film most of next week's video. I have had a bit of engine problems, nothing serious, but you will see the problem I had. I will need to get on with the lawn mower the week after, otherwise I will never finish it. Take care, Jeff
@shaun30-3-mg9zs Thanks Shaun, yes will do. I did have a run on the Suzuki, as I mentioned I had a few problems, it was running very rich. I have a few bits I am fitting and trying out. I had to temporarily remove the air filter and it rode beautifully, but obviously don't want to run without it.
Hi Mathew, as it wasn't used since 1983 and just the one lady owner, with 4000 miles on it, I assumed that the old one was original. I just bought a standard size piston. Take care, Jeff
Hi Mathew, I would personally go for a standard size unless you want to bore out the cylinder. I got it on eBay from a company called my-moto-parts. It was £19.99 for the complete kit. It came the next day. I hope that helps.
Good to see you back Jeff nice find with the bike it's in pretty good condition 👍👍👍👍
Hi Alan, thanks very much, I did miss the old Suzuki FZ50, it is a more usable classic.
Take care, Jeff
You got a good one there jeff, its in excellent condition, and the carb wasn't all gunked up ,and it runs well

That colour is called Light Sky Blue and you can get that from RS Motorcycle Paint but RAL 5012 is also a reasonable match. David

Hi Jeff, I'm pleased you have been able to get another bike & not a big project for you. How is your mum doing?
Love to you & Jenny xx
