It makes you realise how modular the 37 pattern webbing was. Each ration pack fit into one mess tin and there was a pocket for each of the mess tins in the 37 pattern haversack.
Man.. idk about all those boiled sweets. I'd have nightmares in the trenches about opening rations that were only made of them since I'm not a fan. Probably. Who knows, maybe they were good trading fodder.
Fantastic video, thanks for uploading and sharing. I would have thought that the ration pack would have contained so form of vegetable or source of vitamins, was there a reason this wasn't included back then? Was it difficult to preserve that sort of product, or is it because it is purely a 24hr ration pack and not intended for long term use?

Great video as always, glad you like the box and contents and looking forward to part 2!
The brew kit in the 24hr Rations 20y ago was bigger than the entire WW2 Rations
Neat review. Good that you made the point that this was a ration intended for short term use.

cant wait for part 2 keep up the good work!!
Is it just me, or you expected to hear next, "Alright, let's get this out on a tray! NICE!"? I watch too much ration review videos.
If it was that kind of video, the ration would have been 75 years old
Nice hiss 😁
Those biscuits Steve puts with the ration are very morish and the tea is really good 👍 great review mate can't wait for part 2
Great video ! Thanks for sharing !
After watching this you don’t feel hungry..... like a real one.......magic word of the day to old soldiers... Oatmeal block.
thanks for a great video
I reviewed a modern British ration on my channel and the box ration still have the boiled sweets, Can't remember of the new bag rations have them.
I avoid the oxo type cubes as a drink because they tend to taint the driinking vessel. Better crumbled into the meat cube broth.
These look so good that one is almost afraid to consume them!
Need to get a few myself when the budget allows it.

Sorry but I have to ask in what detail are you planning to cover the scratch and scrape?
Well someone had to ask!
I brought one of those a few years ago off evilbay
I imagine that fear and adrenaline suppresses appetite. I wonder if the veterans remember how they used the 24 ration packs in Normandy?

Only meant for short term - they could also have grabbed some wild greens to put in a soup or berries if they were able.
They fit nicely inside the larger mess Tin ?
I count 14 biscuits. Menu states 10.
terrific stuff
you would think the cubes would be wrapped too
yes, seems a bit odd .. ?
Where can we get some
I'm sorry, Freddie Mercury called. He wants his 'stache back.
Can’t help but think the company dentist would have been rather busy. No toothpaste included .
That's what the chewing gum is for. This is for short duty assault troops, not infantry. The infantry would have their personal admin roll with them.
The assault troops using the 24 hour ration would have carried their holdall, containing wash kit including toothbrush and toothpaste/powder.
You probably wouldn’t have any teeth left if you managed to eat the biscuits. They were called Hardtack for a good reason !
Interesting video, may have to get one myself 😁
Who could stomach THREE bars of dark choc in 24hrs??
Can you do one on a Canadian ww2 ration pack
the difference would be interesting for sure
Too many green sweets!
Modern MRE's are so much better, although this doesn't look bad.
Why isn’t the link working?

If they are out of stock then they will be in stock after Christmas
That type of toilet paper is horrible to use! From bitter experience.
Indeed. How can anyone be expected to use non absorbent toilet paper - ?
@@simongee8928 it was horrible to use, I still shudder at memory of it
Maybe it was the origin of the term 'skid marks' as that's what you often ended up with - ! 😆
Bullet proof bum wad
Onward Christian soldiers 🦺📐.
Too much 💔 diarrhea and vomiting from excess tin rations.
Yummy😉
