Chief Obafemi Awolowo, (may the perpetual peace and blessings of the Almighty Olorun Olodumare be upon His great soul) . Papa Awolowo was a great prophet, he was loved by all and feared by many. Thank God for Obafemi Awolowo - a gem presented on the platter of gold to Nigeria. Nigeria blew the opportunity to reproduce nationwide Western Region's Free Education and Healthcare Services. Nigeria blew the opportunity to reproduce nationwide the trans-regional highways, sports stadia like Liberty Stadium, skyscrapers like Cocoa House, broadcast stations like WNTV (Awolowo's work - all on cocoa export money in the 1960s). And here we are...Nigeria today, in the stranglehold of the antithesis of all Awolowo stood for. God did what he could for Nigeria. Rest well, Papa Awo.
