  • Kotpad Handloom is a natural-dyed organic and ecofriendly fabric woven by the tribal weavers of the Mirgan community of Kotpad village in Koraput district, Odisha, India. Kotpad handloom Saree, Dupatta, Dress material has more demand in international market.
    Kotpad handloom fabric received the Geographical Indication of India tag (GI tag) in 2005. Now a days it has gain international name and fame for its quality.
    The natural dye is manufactured from the Aul/Aal tree grown in nearby area.
    The Mirgan and other tribal community of Kotpad is famous for their exquisite organic dyed textile. They usually weave this textile for "Bhotada", "Dharua" and other neighboring tribal communities.
    Cotton sarees with solid border and Pata Anchal, duppatta with typical Buties / motifs, silk, handloom stoles, and dress materials are all dyed with organic dyes.
