  • Hello!
    My name is Veda and I'll be your radiologist for your MRI scan today. First we'll go through a safety screening questionnaire, then we'll get you settled into the MRI for your scans. I'll be talking to you throughout the whole process, so you have absolutely nothing to worry about! There will be some noises from the MRI machine, but the noise canceling headphone will block most of that.
    This video was a lot of work and I'm really proud of how it came out. I hope you enjoy it!
    -xoxo Veda

    I had an MRI this week and am so glad I watched this beforehand. It gave me a good idea of what the process would be like, which is so helpful in new medical procedures/contexts. I honestly found the MRI pretty interesting and not scary, but I can understand how it'd be overwhelming to some. Calm but informative roleplays like this can only help!

      I had a benign brain tumor in my pituitary stalk removed when I was 4 years old (which was 16 years ago) and for a while was getting MRI's 3-4 times a year which are typically an hour long. Thankfully I no longer have to get them anymore, however my body still goes into panic mode at the thought of an MRI. My advice is to think about something else like what your gonna do after or a favorite place. I wish you good luck with your medical journey.

    Wonderful video!! I just wanted to clarify that radiologists are the doctors who interpret medical imaging, and radiologic technologists/MRI technologists/CT technologists, etc. are those who perform the procedures. There’s a lot of confusion sometimes and we get called radiologists a lot 😂 (I wish I made their money!) I just like to educate others on the difference when I can. This was an awesome video, though-very realistic!

      And to add on to that Imaging Technicians/Engineers are the people that fix the machines when they break down and preform maintenance on them as well. Biomed Engineers are the people that fix all the other non imaging medical machines in a hospital. I find them to be unsung heroes in hospitals.

  • @flinthawkins13
    @flinthawkins13 3 года назад +12

    The noise from an MRI like the knocking or schwoop schwoop noise is actually coming from the gradient radio wire coils being subjected to changes in voltage that they use to fine tune what they are trying to scan. The changes in the current generate magnetic fields in said coils (cuz physics lol) and cause them to vibrate sorta like the same effect that speakers use to make sounds. The vibrations are actually very normal and there is nothing to be worried about as there are very few moving parts in an MRI besides the table you're resting on as compared to like a CT. I know people that do maintenance and repair work on them, Imaging Engineers.

    As an MRI technologist myself, this is SO GOOD. literally. the MRI safety questionnaire, the sequences, talking in the mic is all on point. P.S. to all though, the radiologist doesn’t perform the MRI’s, us (the technologists) do 😉 the radiologist is actually the doctor that reads/reports all the MRI’s, x-rays and CT scans and gets paid the big bucks to do that, they wouldn’t even know how to do an MRI 😂

The RMI result ended up being altered because I remember it giving me so many tingles! I felt so wierd but now this video makes me feel like it was legit for me to feel that way! Thankyou so much for the effort you have put in to this video, asmrtists honestly work so hard you deserve so much more credit for you talents and time you give 💗

    But when you sent us into the MRI I was like "why is she so big in comparison to the MRI" when I realized we're inside like a pringles roll or something. At least I guess. And this is so freaking clever! I love this!!

    one of the best sleeps I've ever had was when I got a head MRI to see if I had cancer or a stroke or something. it was sooooo relaxing other than the fact that my pants had had metal so I was not wearing pants and also the iv that the nurse put in badly.
