- Spiritual upliftment and enthusiasm gained in the company of fellow seekers is truly sustaining, but it can fade after a time if we don’t know how to hold onto it. Speaking at the close of the 2024 SRF World Convocation, Self-Realization Fellowship nun Sister Draupadi shares wisdom from Paramahansa Yogananda on how we can learn to carry within our hearts a readily accessible “portable paradise” wherever we go, whatever our outer role and duties are in this complex world.
This video is part of the 2024 SRF World Convocation, a free weeklong program of online classes on Paramahansa Yogananda’s “how-to-live” teachings and meditation techniques, guided group meditations and kirtans (devotional chanting), virtual pilgrimage tours to the ashrams where Yogananda lived and communed with the Divine, and more.

This was a sweet and beautiful talk
The very first group meditation that I ever attended was in Gainesville way back decades and decades ago in north Florida and we met at Sisters condo. I remember how warm and kind she was to me as a new devotee. I recall that I was still following the literal instructions for the whole body tension/relaxation process during the energization exercises. She gently let me know that wasn’t necessary for the group meditation practice.
In the coming years I always smiled with this memory in my mind as I saw others who were new lying down in the courtyard of the Encinitas retreat when they did the same thing. We are all very sincere and we all make similar simple errors. But Sister was such a sincere and kind and wise devotee from the very start of her journey in our Gurus path. We are very fortunate to have her. Thank you God Christ Gurus. 🙏🕉️✝️💖🥰🥳

Dear Sister Draupadi, words will fall short, to express my deepest thanks for your closing talk. It was just perfect, and so attuned with the Divine. There are so many « golden nuggets » in all the talks and meditations of this 2024 Convocation, and therefore I have no proper words to express how grateful I’m to have been able to discover the teachings of Gurudev, and the Kriya Masters. I also would like to express my deepest thanks to the audience. Your voices were so harmonious when you were chanting, especially the « OM ».
