One of my favorite things when I play Mercy is looking at a recently deceased teammate and going "Umm, if I try to rez you I'll definitely die... I will, however use your dead body to escape (GA passed them) Thank you!"
This is my best friend Marah. We duo all the time. I absolutely love her and I think she does very well as mercy. She was so happy you reviewed her game. I'm proud of her and I really hope she can get out of silver soon. (I'm also silver but I'm bad lmao) BUT THATS MY FRIEND AND I LOVE HER MISTAKES AND ALL
awww that's adorable :) the great thing about mistakes is that it's just a game and they're all easily fixable mistakes. she can absolutely climb, it's within her control!
i know emogg said her flying around or just playing on the ground most of the time isn’t a big deal but i promise u if u tell her to work on that & not playing ground mercy she will absolutely climb fairly easier! i also think she needs to work on getting her GA movement a little it’s a bit iffy but other than that i did she did amazing for a silver! i’m in GM if ur friend wants replay codes to watch so she can learn & understand positioning better or just have a better understanding where to be at & how to survive longer pls lmk! i would be happy to help! her mistakes are 1000% easy fixes & she will be out of silver in no time once she understands them!
@seraphinni9883 she used to fly around a lot more, and started changing up her play style to not fly as much based on some other tips videos she's seen. She had really saved me so much as mercy when we play, and she does really well. I honestly don't think she belongs in silver and hey maybe after the comp change she'll see a difference!
@@PettyPerkins its not really about flying vs not flying, it's about knowing what to do and when to do it. if she does really predictable, mindless super jumps as positioning (instead of using GA to reposition to different cover), yeah, eventually that'll be punished. I think the key for your friend will be learning to be more aware and playing a bit further away from the team and objective generally. GA and various techs are tools that should be used for specific purposes. people are cautioned not to fly around mindlessly and for no reason. but movement is key to Mercy. it would be like a Lucio player never wall riding just because it's not a good idea to wall ride in a predictable pattern in front of a widow who's hitting shots. it's all situational, you know? this is one of the reasons why Mercy can be hard to really get good with. there aren't many hard and fast rules that you can just stick to. does she watch her replays consistently? I think that will be super helpful because then she can start to look at what's happening during fights and how she's moving around. I really recommend watching team fights from above in the replay viewer! it gives you a perspective you don't have in game
@@PettyPerkins I believe they meant not to SJ unnecessarily, not to "fly" a lot. They still need to use their wings to get around and heal/boost people. If that's what they meant, then that advice is harmful and Mercy can do so much more than being on the floor 24/7. Get them used to the movement settings (the one i am currently using is from Niandra's), then practice in parkours and watch their demos and others (like higher rank than them) to know what they could've done better.
One tip that I think this Mercy would benefit from is to use guardian angel to reposition rather than using it as your positioning! I learned this from Skiesti, it changed my Mercy gameplay and really helped me rank up! Once you get into higher ranks, you’ll never survive just floating above the fight. They had a soldier that should’ve easily punished you every time you did that. Before you GA to someone, think about where you want to go next instead of just pressing crouch and flying into the open sky. Your deaths per 10 should go down significantly once you get better with her positioning!
I'm looking to improve my mercy for the days that my aim might not be on point. From what I'm gaining is, don't sit on a target and GA to get height or move but use GA as if you are playing Mercy parkour. Is this kind of what you are impyling?
Mercy didn't look around as much as she could have. She was focused on the end of her leash when she doesn't need to do that. Get the lock and then look for trouble, or the next GA target.
Emongg's comment about pocketing the echo just reminded me of a game that I had yesterday. I was mercy. There was a D'va (that thank god knew what corners were), a dps that kept switching, a Kiriko, and a Genji. Tried spreading around the heals and dmg boost, but noticed Genji doing great (even remembered to pop into my los so I could heal him). Took a risk and dmg boosted him off a death when he pinged he had his ult. He fucking cleaned up! AND, fellow supports will understand how awesome this is, he did the 'Thank You' voice line. I nearly cried from joy. We won. The enemy tank was pissed 'pocket *****' not sure what the stars were. My Genji went text chat to say I was a good Mercy. Games like that, are the best. Makes playing support feel good.
There were some Rez opportunities that were absolutely rezzable as well, but were ignored or not sought out. When you hear that death noise, it should be 1) whip head around and find the dead guy (they might have fallen off but usually not), 2) look at your Rez timer (if it’s available or if it’s below 10, you’ll be able to use it in time, and 3) determine if there is a non-suicidal way to Rez. If yes, 4) do your teammates have enough health to survive your absence for a few seconds. If also yes, 5) get in there. You should be able to get into a rhythm where you do all of this in a few seconds. Also, Kitsune can be really helpful for speeding down your Rez timer, but only enter kitsune if it’s not super dangerous.
I don’t mind floor mercy (it’s better to stay behind cover and out of sight random sj are gonna get you killed ) but they definitely need to balance when they dmg boost and heal ,also they definitely aren’t in elo hell 😂
As a kiriko or moria sometimes I just stand and watch my tank die, because why is this mf running like a line backer 40m into a field of 5 enemies with no one to back them up
This comment is 100% valid lmao Just let your tank die if they overextend without analyzing what's going on their backlines than letting yourself push with them and snowballing the entire fight.
They seem to walk a lot as Mercy, not that they need to be in the air or anything, but they tend to just saunter in the open from one place to another when they could just GA to maneuver around more GA to tether to someone then you can always choose to go into a direction by pressing space just so that you get that initial tether and then back to cover or close the distance to somewhere safer
Emongg had already give majority of the tips for Mercy, especially the target priority, so I would just give more generic tips so you can use it as your habit: 1. *Trust your other support.* - Especially Ana, Bap, Kiriko, Lifeweaver, Moira to keep your tank alive. Only heal them when they are in critical health and if you want to have your valk ready. 2. *Use pings* - Especially ping for rezzes and ping for enemy (and you can ping them right after you die). 3. *Your beam is longer than you think* - so you can position yourself better and you can see more than just your target. *Map code: B88FS (By Niandra)* , so you would know how long your beam is for you to heal/boost them in better position. 4. *Using high ground* - it is better than on the lower floor and spamming super jump (although, you're using high ground few times, it is really a good habit to use it more). 5. *Practice on your movement in parkour maps* - it can improve your gameplay most of the time, especially Slingshots as it can be use for positioning and escape. 6. *Position yourself better in your valk* - if you're not contesting the cart/point, you can use your valk to see what's going on. You have longer beam lenght and you can see enemy's HP so ping whenever you see low health your team would finish them. 7. *Try to track enemy ult* - You can do that by looking at the scoreboard and know if they are playing the same hero for more than 90 seconds and they have been engaging your team. 8. *Camera angles* - If you're comfortable enough to look at the target UI (which is on the center), try to look around more and not just focusing on your target.
she needs to look around more. she's always looking at her current beam target or the direction she's walking but mercy needs to look around everywhere
As a previous Silver player - you can't trust your team to do anything, so trusting the Ramattra and Kiriko... maybe after the first few mins if theyve proven themselves, but otherwise, generally you can trust that they're going to do stupid things and die instantly. Definitely need to do a mix between damage boosting the dps and healing the tank. I was gonna ask... what setting are they using for their staff? Do they have toggle beam connection on? It might be easier to switch targets with this off.
Watching the gameplay, I think one of the things that they could focus more on improving on aside from the balance of the heal/damage beams and target priority is to learn how to slingshot from cover to cover (the walking around without much strafing personally made me anxious :"D). There are times where they could have done that to be able to escape and not die. Also it's good to look around and observe a lot more. It could really help in the teamfight if someone is more aware of what's happening around the team.
“if I can’t see them, they can’t see me” is how it feels when she is trying to escape from enemy’s after putting herself in a bad position. Look at your surroundings for junkrat traps if you know they have a junk. Also look at the floor when junk is spamming to avoid his bombs. Playing on high ground away from the bullets is a better idea than standing behind your team. Your wings are a bigger target from behind if you are floating too. the rez on reaper in the beginning while they were in valk would of been 100% safe if they moved behind the wall after starting the Rez, reaper would have ulted for nothing, remember when you start a rez the length is increased and you can move behind cover for a safer time 😊👍
I always get this kinda tanks in Bronze to Gold, they just rush in like crazy and think people will overheal the damage of five people. They don't use walls, they just use whatever abilities they have on cooldown instead of giving supps a breathing room to heal their dps, making them pocket tank 24/7. They back up, get HALF HP back and "OH I AM GETTING HEALED, FINALLY, I'MA GO IN"... While there is a turret Bastion upfront. It's amusing how they then complain that tank role is useless or bad. But here I am having fun playing tank when I do myself, mostly D.va (because heck yeah, fun) and Sigma (for when too much damage is incoming), sometimes Zarya (for those dps that LOS supports)... I feel like D.va can do a lot if you know how to play her, which I do thanks to Emongg. But, as I always say, those who LOS supports and ask for heals, who think they are entitled to a pocket out of their whole team, are the ones that have never played supports. Used to be support main, currently flex in high Plat/low Diamond (Dia being tank and supp), getting my dps up and so far the only thing holding me down is my own stupidity of LOSing supps sometimes and getting greedy. If you come up to them, your mommy will heal your boo boo and you can run off fighting with other kids again to show off who's new shiny toy is bigger- (nano/pulse bomb joke here, Genji/Tracer main). Play all the roles, they help you understand better what a person will do, even if they are new. As a new dps, you will be like "they aren't healing!", as a tank "no dps!" and as a support "LOS dammit"... And it kinda helps not to get upset when others tell you smth like that. You'll go "eh, play my role and then you'll see".
Was I the only one screaming for her to go on that top right balcony by the bridge? And as soon as she did the team pushes.. Like if you're gunna sit there and play turret mercy atleast get in a better spot!
When I play mercy I always support the damage and keep them alive and when I play damage there’s one support that looks after the damage and there fore I look after them
I hate to be that person but it absolutely urked me that she didnt help/rez her other support. KEEP YOUR OTHER SUPPORT UP!!!! they can help you keep your team up, youre NOT gonna have fun trying to heal three other teammates by yourself as mercy. Help your support so they can help you!!!!!
She really needs to go on the uncontested high ground more often. Not only is it much safer, but it will encorage your teammates to be more proactive too if they see that their Mercy is ahead of them
They are playing her like a literal tank. She's meant to he the nimble character that slings from to and fro. Instead of watching the player you are beaming, keep a watchful gaze on your team. You can turn a full 180 and keep your beam locked , and as long as LOS isn't broken, you can keep aware of you pockets health via the UI emblem.
I think the main problems of this Mercy is that her sens is too low for a Mercy player (I think 50% with 18% for her gun is the best on pc) she's yellowbeaming full health targets WAY too much she have to switch to blue beam as soon as they hit full hp (and sometimes if the main healers already healing them you don't have to yellow beam them at all) and she have to fly more, I know flying too much is not as op as some think it is and they are right but positionning is the most important thing to learn as Mercy, use highground and covers as much as possible ! Hope this helps ♥
She should definitly be flying more, trying to bait shots towards her so their dps aren’t focusing the tank/dps and they explode. But she can definitly get better she’s got the basics for the most part, practice makes perfect.🙏
Towards the mid of the video you tell her that she is doing more now, but honestly I saw her doing this the entire game. 🤷🏽♂️ The difference to me happened when the team started being more pro-active and organized. I avoid playing mercy because she is so easy to play also she seems to have very little control of the flow of the game(to me). Put me in a group with some highly mobile heroes if not all, you’ll see me being that unkillable mercy, flying all over the place, who does not let anyone die. Put me in a group (as mercy) of potatoes heads, most likely my game play would’ve been pretty similar to this one. Where does one send you material for you to review? I’m convinced blizzard should find a way to always match people according to their skill. I play video games for 2 reasons, to have fun and to be skillful at it. However, I won’t deny I have become pretty bitter of team driven games, yet I am the toxic person who still plays them. If anything that would be the main reason I am stuck on silver, although I have gotten to plat before. I only say this because I never go into a comp game if I don’t feel like I am at my best. So my toxicity must be the reason.
elo is another term for rank, so "elo hell" is the idea that the reason someone isn't able to climb out of a particular rank is because of the rank itself, because their teammates are bad, etc. elo hell doesn't exist! whether someone climbs is within their control.
@@sethescope ELO hell exists, in low bronze. Only half the players are noobs. The rest are experienced players who throw often enough to stay in bronze. They are griefers. You aren't actually playing Overwatch in low bronze. You are a toy for experienced players. Griefers.
I know this sounds like one of those jokes people make to give something a funny fake name, but 'Elo' it isn't an an acronym. It's a guy's name. The Elo rating system is a system invented by Arpad Elo where players transfer points between each based on the results of a match and their relative scores before the match.
@@sethescopeto some extent it does exist but not becouse of the rank but rather the system the game is built on,that will give you a team that only 2 rank above players might be able to turn as a support
12DKCN What you think about this gameplay? Ik Im not playing safe alot of times, but got so stressed whene my Rein overpushed over and over, so I forgot to play safe and hide from widow exc. But stil 0 deaths even tho I stressed out and forgot positioning. /Hardstuck bronze 5 Mercymain sence season 3.
If she was more confident in her movement she could play a lot better. But I don't think the skill is there which is why she is mostly on the ground there at first. I definitely thought it was console until you said it was PC... so much more opportunity for mercy movement to be better on PC too.... just honestly not on the right person at the right time. Needs to use blaster on occasion for clean up. Just tips from a basic little masters 4 console mercy.
I hoped this Mercy player is not stuck silver for years, he play good, better than average silver mercy player ; if the enemy Mauga survive too much, well maybe your team would have need Zenyatta or Ana but as long as with mercy you switch between healing and damage boost, like he did, there is nothing more he can do if his dps mates can't have good target focus. The fact that you defend with 2 dive dps with only Rammatra to hold the line was tough.
@3:15 never trust your other support to do the healing. always play like you are the only healer in your team in metal ranks. whenever i play mercy and pocket the pharah or echo/dps the team just dies 9out of 10 times in metal ranks
That's extremely harmful advice, instead of enabling your role as making ult charges faster for DPS and support, and enabling DPS, you're just basically a healbot, a decoration without giving any value. Your heal per second is just exclusive to one target at a time and you don't have kits to save your tank, which it would be more better to play a burst heal character and has kits to defend their target. *Just play Kiriko, Ana, Bap, Moira if you don't trust your other support, why would you healbot as Mercy where her Damage Boost is her best kit?* That advice would just literally make them a hardstuck low gold. Higher than that, they would get repremand for being a tank healbot. Your second support, especially an Ana or Kiri would just be pissed the fact you keep stealing their charge as they needed it to be used a lot even in any ranks than your valk. If you're pocketing pharah and echo 24/7 without knowing your team's condition if they urgently needed a 2nd support to heal them (aka awareness), then that's on you.
@@athenacutie mercy is a heal bot character. Yes bla bla bla power boost. But the reality is in metals ranks your 2nd support is clueless so u end up heal botting anyway as mercy. What vallue does a ana get if she misses all her heals? What value is bap if he cant hit his nades. What vallue is kiriko if she only dps and suzu her self. Because this is the reality of metal ranks. Your fancy "high tier" play styles dont apply in metal ranks.
This diatribe is literally the reason you are in metal rank lol. Even in gold Mercy would be better served boosting DPS and GA'ing to tank for heals when they get low. Your advice is not good at any rank and is frankly a loser mindset.@@Nillix1
@@andersj91 How is playing like u need to carry the team on your back a loser mindset? that makes no sense. u people that pretent like u know it all but yall turn 180''s constantly with your advices. one day u say its NEVER YOUR TEAMS FAULT U JUST GOT TO BE BETTTER. the next day its "U GOT TO RELLY ON YOUR TEAMMATES TO DO THE DMG/HEALING". just shut up already. acting like a bunch of know it all's but never know anything. all u do is repeat whatever these youtubers say. has anyone ever told you after u lose a game its your fault because u did tomuch healing? like WTF? . u probably dont even play the game lol
@@Nillix1 when I was in gold, my average damage boost per 10 was 1.3k+ with a high of 6k in one season (can't recall which one). not a typo. 6000+ damage boost in a single game in GOLD. Mercy's healing isn't weak - it's not on a resource meter, you don't have to reload etc - but it cannot keep a tank up like Ana, Bap, etc can. it literally and numerically cannot do that. you're trying to hammer a nail with a screwdriver. what got me out of gold was starting every match like everyone was going to do their job, more or less. if I had an Ana, I would assume they would heal the tank, for instance, and I would constantly reassess and keep my eyes on my WHOLE team. there were - and still are, in my plat and diamond lobbies - some games where I as Mercy heal more, but healing a lot =/= being a healbot. the fact of the matter is that if you completely neglect or woefully underutilize a part of a heros kit, why are you even playing them? not using damage boost would be like never using Bap's regenerative burst or Ana's nade or never ever doing any helpful damage as another support. it doesn't make sense. I want to be clear that Mercy can and should heal when the team needs healing. but something you have to ask yourself when you're healbotting when the team doesn't need healing - are you even contributing anything to the fight right now? or are you just sitting there afk hoping someone else will do something? climbing as a mercy main is very doable. it's not easy and it takes more games than other heroes, but if you're stuck, that's not your teams fault. you're the only consistent factor in every single one of your games. take responsibility for your games and gameplay - that's the only way to climb.
Less than minute in and this pepega doesn't even WANT to look on what's happening in a team fight and scared to peek against no snipers, aka didn't even check his tab. Nope. You stay in silver, thank you very much.
Wow, really nice criticism that would definitely help them to climb. Thank you very much. :/ The long 1000 word essay was definitely helpful even it is painful to read than this one lmfao
@@tinytina6056 I have no intention to be helpful, that's just an observation of what happened in less than a minute. You can take it personally and be all sad and all, or just start hitting your damn tab.
first things first, elo hell doesnt exist, not even for Mercy! i don't even need to watch the video to know that. there are two possible reasons why someone doesn't climb: (1) they are making fundamental mistakes that are being punished by people in the next rank up or (2) they aren't playing enough games to give the game the information it needs to move them to the right rank. if you're only playing 10 games per season, you're choosing to stay in the same rank, easy as that. for instance, I climbed from gold 1 to plat 1 this season primarily as Mercy, 90% solo queuing, so no, you're not stuck because of your hero pick or because you solo queue. you're stuck because of your choices and gameplay. I will edit this comment once i have a chance to watch the video with more Mercy specific tips. the source of these tips: me, a plat 1 Mercy main, Moira enjoyer, and Kiriko aspirant lol 1. you should be with your echo from the beginning. Soldier isn't a bad dmg boost target whatsoever, he's actually one of my favorites, but you should be with Echo because you can help them easier than Kiriko. Kiriko's ofuda have travel time, there's a delay between Kiriko sending the healing and the healing being received. don't get me wrong, if you chose not to go with echo immediately because you were worried about possible snipers, I understand that, but once 15sec passes, you can check the scoreboard to see the enemy team comp. Echo Mercy can be devastating, and Mercy can carry by being aggressive with Echo. 1:37 you move around very slowly, which makes you an easy target. use GA slingshots to get to cover while beaming allies. you also don't move your camera very much - if you don't want to hard pocket echo here (which you should be doing because thats how you will most likely contribute max value to the team), then at the very least you should be constantly checking on echo so you can quickly respond if they need help or to damage boost key abilities like echo sticky bombs and the beam. you seem very static, you don't move very much and don't use GA much. Mercy is annoying because most people struggle to confirm the kill because you can easily zip and zoom all over the place. make use of the movement! don't fly into their team, but you can GA to your tank and backwards GA to stay ar a safe distance (and once you're more comfortable, you can GA to them, turn around, and slingshot back to where you came, which is faster, less predictable, and safer) to get your beam on them. you can use echo to get to high ground and beam your team from there. movement is Mercy's main method of self defense and it gives the other team something else to look at and keep track of. distraction is a tool in overwatch! also 2:30 it didn't really seem like you had a plan here. it seemed like you just valked because you had it and then just healed instead of incorporating damage boost. you also just kinda hovered two inches above the fight and died due to that positioning. you could have valked from way back closer to spawn! that would have given you a great view of the fight and let you see moments for damage boost and moments when your team needed healing. instead, you kinda just smushed your face into the fight and died 😅 which isnt ideal. 3:06 if someone you're beaming gets walled off, you can still use them to super jump and get on top of the wall! make sure you have your settings set to GA prefers facing target (or GA to beam target only but that setting is less ideal) because prefers facing target only won't let you do this. you could also have immediately looked at another teammate and used them to super jump on top of the wall to help your bastion. your biggest issue so far, imo, is you don't look around very much. you have to be constantly looking around for information - for flankers, to see who needs help, etc. if you aren't looking around, you can't make good decisions about where to position and who to beam for maximum value. as the game has gone on, you're moving a bit more and using GA more, but I'm really curious why you went at least two minutes without using GA, even to reposition to different cover or get to allies faster to beam them. it seems like you forget about good positioning mid team fight. 7:01 your positioning was pretty good at the beginning of this fight, and then you reposition as though you're on defense, putting yourself at unnecessary risk. silvers won't punish that as quickly and thoroughly as they should, but gold players will. good positioning is important during the ENTIRE game. you spend a LOT of time hanging out around the cart - remember, Mercy's beam is 15m long! make use of that length and create some distance. make the enemy team have to invest time and cooldowns in order to get you. NEVER be a free kill. 7:15 your Sombra is at half hp on your screen, but you ignore them in favor of your tank who is at basically full HP. I feel like you need to have a plan for positioning because you kinda just follow your team and don't think about finding good cover first and then helping your team. right now, its not being punished, but gold players will punish it more reliably.
my phone is hecking my comment up so I'll just write in the replies. 10:21 you default to going with your tank instead of sticking with your bastion. yes, you go to them eventually, but to me, the issue is your mindset and unconscious plan. you seem to be thinking "go with tank first, oh wait, bastion, my DPS, I can help them!" when really, your tank won't need you at the beginning of the fight anyway because they won't take damage yet, and you can easily eliminate the need to heal your tank by making sure your bastion melts the whole enemy team before they have a chance to hurt your tank very much. I'm not saying, don't help your tank. I'm saying, understand where you're going to contribute the most value at every stage of the fight. understand when your teammates actually NEED your healing and when damage boost will contribute more. 14:13 don't be afraid to damage boost your tank! Kiriko is right there too, and Ramattra is a GREAT damage boost target. you can always swap back to healing when they get low. damage boost would also be huge here specifically because your Ram is close to ult. Ramattras ult is so powerful in low plat and below, so making sure your Ram gets it faster is HUGE value. 16:03 you did a great job here overall! flicking damage boost into reaper was massive because it helps secure elims quicker and increases reaper's life steal. you did a good job balancing things in a high pressure situation. personally I would have just healed reaper through most of it because reaper was so low, I think that was extremely risky (bordering on a play I would discourage), but it still showed good reaction time and understanding how damage boost can be more important than healing at specific times. again, it was extremely risky and I don't know how conscious that risk analysis was, so I'm not about to say "great play, always do that" 17:00 you got distracted by the low hp reaper. this is 100% a case where you damage boosting Ram was the right play. you can see Reaper getting healing ofudas from Kiriko and you can see Reaper is in a safe spot. Kiriko can help the Reaper, you focus on being aggressive! it's okay to let yourself trust that your other support will heal. always start each game with the assumption that your other support will do their job (which will vary depending on the hero they pick) and reevaluate as the game goes on. your Kiriko has proven over and over that they're going to heal the team too, so you can let yourself trust that. ESPECIALLY when you see it happening directly in front of you :) 18:10 this death is on you because you didn't focus first on good positioning. you kinda just flew around without any plan and served yourself up on a platter for the enemies. 1000% preventable death, you staggered yourself. it's deaths like these that really hold you back and prevent you from climbing because staggering is the biggest mistake. 21:15 once your tank got back, your ass needed to get away from the cart. good job staying on it for a bit but once your Ram was back, gtfo, not your job anymore, end of story. 22:07 I really disagree with emongg here. your positioning got so messy, you got distracted by the Moira (although you saw a ping of them on your screen before they started succ'ing you), you landed in a trap on low ground -- all of these were preventable. maybe better positioning from you wouldn't have mattered in any way, but there will be games when it does matter. you just didn't seem to have any sort of plan for what you wanted to do, you were just reacting in panic. stay on the high ground, stay with Pharah in the air, or stay far back from your team behind the next corner (where you would have seen the Moira coming from a mile away)
overall, you need to work on your positioning and your awareness. you need to have a plan for each team fight and understand where Mercy can contribute the most value. it's not about damage boosting, it's about damage boosting the right person at the right time. it's not about healing, it's about healing the people who actually NEED healing when they need it. you need to use Mercy's movement but I don't mean just super jumping in the air. that's predictable movement that can be punished. I mean using GA to respond to your teams needs more quickly. I mean using high ground consistently. this game had nothing to do with Mauga/your team not having one. this was about positioning and staggering, both of which you contributed to. maybe this game would always be lost even if you played perfectly, but this is only one game. the mistakes you made in this game are mistakes you make in every other game you play. work on them, and you'll see better results. ELO HELL DOESN'T EXIST. take responsibility for your mistakes and gameplay!
Is it just my short attention span or is this comment too long for a player in silver to get it? I mean, it is okay for a talking VOD analysis but in writing for a silver player I do believe a general tip is enough for them to at least get them out of silver...
@@athenacutie your short attention span. when I was in silver, this is the kind of analysis I was doing for my own vods (back before there was a replay viewer and I had to use obs! lol). it's also not just about getting out of silver. it's about growing as an overwatch player and as a mercy player beyond just whatever rank you happen to be in currently. there's always at least one comment like this whenever I dare to write more than three sentences to help out another player 😂 (Hanzo voice) so predictable
@@sethescope I mean, do you think a silver mercy would absorb all of this long essay? What if they also have short attention span + they don't like unnecessary/random comments? Plus, what if English isn't their first language?
Any support player under Diamond is there voluntarily. All you have to do to be Diamond on support is pick Moira, go take an off angle away from your team, do damage and be annoying af, fade out when they look at you, and repeat until Diamond. Moira is a stupidly easy and broken hero in the metal ranks.
This is exactly how I play Moira. Create an off-angle so they have to turn away from my team to deal with me, and when they do, return to my team. Get a pick doing this as often as possible.
Brainlet take. You still need gamesense to improve on moira, and believe it or not most people only want to play heroes they enjoy. Did you also boost your rank on tank up 6 ranks when mauga was OP?
One of my favorite things when I play Mercy is looking at a recently deceased teammate and going "Umm, if I try to rez you I'll definitely die... I will, however use your dead body to escape (GA passed them) Thank you!"
me, looking at a dead teammate who can't be ressed safely: "damn, that sucks for you... anyway, I'm out (uses their corpse to GA away)"
Me not saying anything and just glide cuz im that cold
@@canineatnight6026 I respect your honesty lol
The bridge must always be fed.
As a kiriko or moria sometimes I just stand and watch my tank die, because why is this mf running like a line backer 40m into a field of 5 enemies with no one to back them up
🤣🤣🤣🤣
This comment is 100% valid lmao
Just let your tank die if they overextend without analyzing what's going on their backlines than letting yourself push with them and snowballing the entire fight.
Exactly,i had a guy a few days ago scream for help constantly after charging in 1v5 as rein agains ram, bastion, junk, ana comp😢
They seem to walk a lot as Mercy, not that they need to be in the air or anything, but they tend to just saunter in the open from one place to another when they could just GA to maneuver around more
GA to tether to someone then you can always choose to go into a direction by pressing space just so that you get that initial tether and then back to cover or close the distance to somewhere safer
This, one thing that they should really improve the most if they want to get up to gold is to know how to control and manuver their slingshots.
Emongg had already give majority of the tips for Mercy, especially the target priority, so I would just give more generic tips so you can use it as your habit:
Your wings are a bigger target from behind if you are floating too. the rez on reaper in the beginning while they were in valk would of been 100% safe if they moved behind the wall after starting the Rez, reaper would have ulted for nothing, remember when you start a rez the length is increased and you can move behind cover for a safer time 😊👍
Still watching but the mercy immediately has a lot of ground time, which isn't necessarily bad every now and then but girl use them wings!
I had bit of anxiety watching her not gunna lie. I love that she is asking for tips though, we all need them at times.
This may be a PC game, but that Mercy is using a controller for sure
the irony of someone complaining about their tank not swapping when they force Mercy into a comp she doesn't belong (reaper, sombra)
In flats video titled *supports are broken unless i play them* he was healing full health teammates and damage boosting low health teammates
Thank you Petty I love you!! I appreciate all the tips! I always want to learn and grow.
as someone who plays mercy this gameplay was really good compared to other silvers, keep up the good work
Idk what it is about Rialto, but at least one person will always fall off that map.
Mercy complaining about tank that doesn't swap while they also won't swap lol
This hurts my eyes so bad
Which video is this one on?
what is that mercy skin? ive looked everywhere and theres no skin with that healing staff
The difference to me happened when the team started being more pro-active and organized.
What does *ELO Hell* stands for?
elo is another term for rank, so "elo hell" is the idea that the reason someone isn't able to climb out of a particular rank is because of the rank itself, because their teammates are bad, etc. elo hell doesn't exist! whether someone climbs is within their control.
@@10Neon man, you made me learn something new today >:( I even looked this up to see if it was true, how dare you! Kappa

The echo is playing floor echo because she’s not getting pocketed….
ALRIGHT SO!...I'm early
dang you right!
*Just play Kiriko, Ana, Bap, Moira if you don't trust your other support, why would you healbot as Mercy where her Damage Boost is her best kit?*
That advice would just literally make them a hardstuck low gold.
The long 1000 word essay was definitely helpful even it is painful to read than this one lmfao
@@tinytina6056 I have no intention to be helpful, that's just an observation of what happened in less than a minute. You can take it personally and be all sad and all, or just start hitting your damn tab.
@@tinytina6056 how else is the plat going to get his validation if not making snarky comments about silvers?
first things first, elo hell doesnt exist, not even for Mercy! i don't even need to watch the video to know that. there are two possible reasons why someone doesn't climb: (1) they are making fundamental mistakes that are being punished by people in the next rank up or (2) they aren't playing enough games to give the game the information it needs to move them to the right rank. if you're only playing 10 games per season, you're choosing to stay in the same rank, easy as that. for instance, I climbed from gold 1 to plat 1 this season primarily as Mercy, 90% solo queuing, so no, you're not stuck because of your hero pick or because you solo queue. you're stuck because of your choices and gameplay.
I will edit this comment once i have a chance to watch the video with more Mercy specific tips. the source of these tips: me, a plat 1 Mercy main, Moira enjoyer, and Kiriko aspirant lol
1. you should be with your echo from the beginning.
16:03 you did a great job here overall! flicking damage boost into reaper was massive because it helps secure elims quicker and increases reaper's life steal. you did a good job balancing things in a high pressure situation. personally I would have just healed reaper through most of it because reaper was so low, I think that was extremely risky (bordering on a play I would discourage), but it still showed good reaction time and understanding how damage boost can be more important than healing at specific times. again, it was extremely risky and I don't know how conscious that risk analysis was, so I'm not about to say "great play, always do that"
17:00 you got distracted by the low hp reaper. this is 100% a case where you damage boosting Ram was the right play. you can see Reaper getting healing ofudas from Kiriko and you can see Reaper is in a safe spot. ESPECIALLY when you see it happening directly in front of you :)
18:10 this death is on you because you didn't focus first on good positioning. you kinda just flew around without any plan and served yourself up on a platter for the enemies.
Get a pick doing this as often as possible.
this is such a tiny brain take.
That's how you accidentally train yourself to be a bad Moira one trick. L take
bro watched an awkward video
Brainlet take. You still need gamesense to improve on moira, and believe it or not most people only want to play heroes they enjoy.
Did you also boost your rank on tank up 6 ranks when mauga was OP?
I am the 1000th view, 👍
