- Dug through some old footage and found this clip I shot of Brandi Carlile at Stuarts Coffee House, Bellingham, Washington, in early 2002.
Not sure of the first song, if anyone knows let me know, second clip is "Wish you were here" by Pink Floyd. #brandicarlile
Update: First song is "Sorry for Changing" of an early EP.
Guitarist is Keith Wright Кино
Surreal to see her without Phil on her right and Tim to her left. Thanks for sharing a twenty-one year old Brandi’s music.
What an amazing journey from this tiny club to the stages of Madison Square Garden and Red Rocks.
And now ... SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE!!!
I'm not sure if this is the same concert, but I first saw Brandi Carlile at Stuarts around the same time. We were walking out front on our way to the Wild Buffalo and heard her belting out Elton John covers. We took a seat in the balcony just above the stage and never made it to the Wild Buffalo. Still the best show I've ever seen and we've been a fan ever since.
Can we talk about the guitarist? 😻 Wow!
Agreed! Named as Keith Wright in notes with this clip.
@@Ma_Ba thank you ❤️
Awesome to see the early days of such a talent 👏..thx for posting this 👍
Shes so cute I can her the greatness to come....bravo
Wow I love angry young Brandi. If only she knew what was to come.
YES!
This is so excellent! I think she knew her potential.
Why..what was to come..?
@@wlgj1341 Massive fame, Grammy wins, just to name a couple things lmao
I never saw her doing Pink Floyd and she really did them justice. Her passion is already evident at this stage in her life.👏🏼👏🏼
I became a devoted fan of Brandi Carlile when I heard her album The Story in 2007. I’ve been listening to the audible version of Broken Horses as read by Brandi. She includes in every Chapter a song or songs related to the personal story told in that Chapter. The book is incredible but the audible version is magical as she details her life from her youth disclosing the issues she experienced, some funny some sad but all heart felt.
This is SOOOO good! ... OMG... Can I go back? :') Love you, Brandi!
Holy shit. What a treasure.
She became more awesome as the years went by
So much Indigo Girls influence is evident!
Totally❣
GOOD FIND!!!! Thank you for sharing ☮💟🕉
Awesome! Thank you for sharing! 😊
Best guitarist, just terrific
I rememeber being there on Bay street.
Sitting outside before the outdoor seating changed the layout of the road.
Playing chicken with the cars turning right.
What a very weird memory i almost forgot about
Wow, amazing. I see a little Lucinda Williams in her voice.
Yes that, I also see the massive Amy Ray influence
Wow. Thanks for sharing
Thank you Brandi fot this epic gift....
WOW!!! Thank you for uploading this :D She changed so much in even the 4 years till I discovered her. This seams like decades before The Story, and yet, it was only 4 isn years? She had it then! Bless you for having this footage, and for having stood there and recorded it in the first place!
I went to a lot of these shows, hung out with her and the other bands, jammed at her house in Sumner, WA. It was a different time, that's for sure, but her voice was already strong and ready for the world stage.
Wow so freaking cool! Thanks for uploading!
Wow! I hope I learn my instruments that well someday...Incredible to watch. Clearly Brandi is really good at surrounding herself with equally talented musicians.
So cool you got to see this Live!
Fantastic!!! I don't think I saw her in concert until 2007 when she opened for Indigo Girls in Boulder, Colorado.
I was there!
@@melaniemayeranderson8135 lucky you!
She puts the most amazing twist on other singers songs so much that that’s the way you want to hear from now on. She is amazing. Thank you for posting this
Wow this is epic.
I am dying!!!!! Thank you forever for this
I’m borderline in love with this video…
Amazing to see, thank you for posting!
Great to see this ..everyone has to start somewhere.you've come a long way baby 👍..
Fabulous. Thank you. Something for her kids to see.
WOW! Thank you for sharing! 🙏🏼

What a beautiful treat! Thanks for sharing!💗
So awesome! Thank you!
Glad you liked it!
That guitarist is fabulous!
Agreed. Notes say Keith Wright.
Thanks for the upload.
So beatiful! ❤
21 Year old Brandi is amazing. Look at her now!
She’s just so good and obviously always has been!
Thanks so much! I saw her briefly at Stuart's, too.. not sure if it would have been this show or another. Miss that place.
I just saw her in Philly this Saturday… love her!! ♥️♥️
So🍀
whoa she improved so much it's crazy. this is a testament to hard work and keep moving relentlessly toward your goals or dreams
Fantastic 💜
I was living in Oak Harbor at the time and wish I could have chanced upon one of her shows back then. Would have been really great. At that time I was always going to Bellingham. Seattle, Tacoma, Olympia to shop for books. My loss not knowing of her then.
Fantastic find.
That's amazing! Brandi looking like John Connor here... outstanding performance. Thanks for sharing, man.
Love this song and like this version.
Getting some strong Alanis vibes here, love it!!
fantastic
What a find!
Amazing Brandi ! )))
Wow this is great!
Oh wow. I miss Stuart's. It's been a decade since I was there. Ah, the memories.
I know, their root beer is so good
yes, i used to go there on tuesday nights for their jazz night. so good. this would have been summer 2003 to 2004
Stuarts closed in 2005
Love Brandi doing grunge.
Like seeing hair undyed and eyes unmascara-ed.
She is the absolute best, and so glad that she's still going and doing so well! I'm so glad I found her on NPR when her first album came out and I've been spreader her as required listening ever since!
This reminds me of when I discovered her (only a few short years ago) and I was such a BSer, I *swore* to a friend that she was one of the founders of Lilith Fair, because my brain could not comprehend that someone could write "The Story" at 25. Brandi's only two years older than me, and it's like she's lived a lifetime. Meanwhile, I'm just binging RUclips videos and making up facts about her.
BC didn't write "The Story" - one of the Twins did.
Well, that was really cool.
Wow!!!
Baby Brandi
OmgOSH sooooo young😍
Sweet baby face 🥰
Great stuff - like her guitarist too
Keith Wright is named as guitarist by uploader of clip.
Cool.. I hope you've shared this with her.. her marketing team would probably love it! And a big kudos to the guy..
I doubt it. Brandi doesn't like her old music to be shared. Her first big fan website was monitored for old bootlegs.
Keith Wright listed in notes as guitarist.
Is that an Enumclaw t shirt? She's wonderful! Thanks for sharing!
She just had to wait to be discovered, app. it takes 16 years from Wash. St. to the US> (east coast)
Brandi's always been hot & had great backup.
That guitarist is insane! Wonder where he is now?
rite
Wondering the same thing🤔🎸
I need to know
Wow.
I think he still plays with her. I believe He is credited on her records anyway.
Holy….
Thank you!
Thank you! You must’ve been playing w her right before The Twins… and…dude, you can play a mean guitar….
@@skippy9659 The guitarist is Keith Wright, I was sitting closer to him so the video picks up his incredible chops!
Сильно!
You totally hear her Indigo Girls influence here - which is awesome.
This may be the oldest footage I've seen of her. I had a friend that went to a lot of these old shows but she recorded the audio only.
He works in a barber shop in Proctater Vermont today.
#BabyBrandi
Love, love the guitarist! Who is it?
Oh that is really cool! You can tell she hasn’t quite honed in her style.
Noticed the solo to Sorry is the same as Umbrella
That first song was one on her very very early records, not released…I’ll look
Are there any other versions of it anywhere?
@@AbElNee I have one audio I ripped off internet way back in the day… but no video
Any luck? Dying to have that song.
@@stutk unfortunately no, it’s buried somewhere on a drive that’s ..somewhere..I can’t find it
I never knew Fred Durst was that good on the guitar!
BUT it says Keith Wright is guitar.
would love to see more if you have any - also anyone know if that first song was ever released anywhere? Can't find it.
Is this her still playing with The Shed?
Wow! Fun, who is the guitarist - He is fabulous.
Tracked him down, Keith Wright
@@aptpdx thank you
Who is the guitarist? He's really good and I love the Spanish Classical vibe! Brandi sounds like Emily Sayers (Indigo Girls) in the first song.
Keith Wright, he played with Brandi in the early days. facebook.com/Tailstop/
Me! Thanks for the nice words
@@keithwright6704 damn man you are good!
@@MrBheller That is what I noticed.
@@keithwright6704 you are an amazing guitarist
anyone know who is backing her?
Does anyone have the mp3 of sorry for nothing they can sell me?
What is this sorry for changing song?
Another comment said it was from a very early record, not sure of the details though.
So good. But that guitarist guy..... wow. Who dat?
Keith Wright--scroll up and there's some links
If anyone knows the first song please let me know
The song is "Sorry For Changing".
Yep, that’s it. Those two early early EP’s are gold to me
"Think about that"
We layer titled it "I'm Sorry"
@@keithwright6704 but, dude..you can play!
@@keithwright6704 Is this on an EP somewhere? Great song. Great guitar.
Keith Wright is good!
Brandi Carlisle
*Carlile.
far too intense for a coffeehouse....
When in a band or ensemble, guitar players should never have control over their guitar's volume in the mix. More times than not, they are too loud compared to everything else in the mix.
Ohhh i remember backwards fitted caps...good riddance to bad rubbish
Wow. I turned my hat backwards to see the mezzanine. I'm sorry you disapprove of my rubbish..
Have a great day!
