  • In this episode we attempt to fix my problem of selling my only running vehicle. I need a new daily driver and will begin troubleshooting our 1984 Jeep CJ7 to see if we can get it running. Also introduce our newest project a 1994 GMC K1500 OBS, we go over what the trucks current condition is and what our possible future plans may be. Check it out and let me know what you think.

Yes! IRS, IFS, AWD with the junkyard parts.
Anyone can solid axle swap these trucks and it’s been done over and over.
Do the unusual and use your fab skills to build that thing right.

I agree with Big 'Ol Daddy as far as the prioritization of the projects. Wait on the GMC until you have parts gathered since it's already running. You probably have most of the parts to put the Jeep together, so shouldn't be too financially painful.
I love your plan for the GMC. I have 2 RC SB OBS Chevys. I love that setup. One is 4-link front and rear with D60/14 bolt on 40" Boggers. Other is a 2wd 98 with cam and heads. The street truck direction is definitely more usable now that I'm not in my 20's anymore.
Have you considered an IRS setup from a newer Tahoe or Suburban to keep it all Chevy? I don't know how they're setup or if it would be more difficult or expensive. Also, 6.2s in my area are 4x more expensive than 6.0s, so that might come into play with your budget.
I really like what you're doing on your channel. Keep up the good work!

I like what your thinking. Your OBS’s sound cool, I really like the look of these trucks. I’ll have to look into those other IRS setups. Thanks for watching!

Sounds cool on the yellow GMC something different too. Only thing I hate the most about those trucks is that stupid dash. You gotta mount a aftermarket radio in the center of the truck then you got a big ass hole where the factory radio was. I noticed that's how yours is. Maybe put a different dash in it from something cool.

I say just drive the Yellow truck as is for now. Maybe Prime it and satin clear coat it and undercoat/film oil the hell out of it and turn your time to the jeep since you have a motor and tranny for it and then finish the ford truck and then do the GMC. I think otherwise you will have too many irons in the fire, You will be working 24/7 and it will take a lot of money all at once. Plus you will have plenty of time to get parts for the GMC and get the right ones. Just my opinion.
