Yes, Harding is the worst, poor Emmrich. The poor guy was already insecure because he was with a much younger woman and thought he had no right, at that age, to live a love like that and yet the others keep saying exactly what he feared people would think... It's not surprising that he was so insecure and aware of it that he ended up fighting with Rook.

Exactly; I dont feel these people are his true friends; they lack class and tact; and just basic respect. it's funny i'm writing about him as if he were real, but still, I feel he deserves to be surrounded by people who give him the same respect he gives others. He such a dignified classy man, he deserves others who give him that same respect.I just love him!🤣

What I’m wondering is, at youngest Rook is likely in their late twenties, maybe early thirties, at oldest gameplay wise maybe late thirties. So there are maybe 10-15 years between Rook and Emmrich. Harding should be in her early to mid-thirties in game and Taash is at most in their very early twenties…so Harding should be the last person to criticize Emmrich about an age gap, at least Rook has a fully developed frontal cortex while Taash is most likely still riding the waves of their teenage rebellion 😅
You're right, I hadn't thought of it that way, but in fact Harding is also older than Taash, could that be why she's the most “critical”, could she be projecting her fears about her relationship with Taash onto Emmrich and Rook?
If your rook is in their 20s, and since there is nothing in the game that allows for there to be a rook younger than 20yo, there is maximum of 30 years of difference since emmrich is in his early to mid 50s. It feels like the devs, despite always including older skin textures and builds, went the ¨PC is 20yo¨ route yet again
kinda sucks that everyone is so ¨worried¨ about rook because of the age gap, it's understandable since bioware didn't really leave any room for there to be a variety in how old rook can be but it still feel a little bad, they keep giving emmrich a hard time in the beggining and fine, ok, but if they were going to go that route they could have included banter with rook about it with the companions being intrusive and pestering rook...
Yes, Rook can't even defend her beloved or say anything about it, in fact, Rook can't say anything about much in this game and it's one of the things that bothered me about it. For a protagonist, Rook's presence in the story and interactions was a bit lackluster. 😔

The devs actually confirmed that Emmrich is in his early 60's!
