Yessssssss. I say this all the time. If you don't want variability, play chess. You hate it when variability goes against you and you lose to an 8 year old, but you love it when it goes in your favor and you beat a pro. You wouldn't enjoy Magic without variability the way you think you would.
I also agree, it's just really unfortunate they put up pauper cube when they did because I didn't get to record as many videos as I would have wanted. (I have like 6 or something)
@@CalebGannon Awwww, when I saw this video go up I was excited because I thought we had seen all the videos you had of this cube....it gave me hope that you had at least a dozen or so saved up, sad to hear there's only a few more....and even sadder that I was busy with work and didn't get to draft this cube a single time....
from what I understand this is an outdated list of the cube anyway, I think if you search for "the pauper cube" you might find a more up to date list. I would probably just get the actual list and then tinker with it as you see fit after playing for a while. I've only done like 11 drafts so it's hard to say what needs to change yet, but giving green more life gain or ways to beat tokens is probably a good start.
Attended Knight really ought to come with a 1/2 given that's what Squire is. I mean, it doesn't because there are almost no aysmmetric tokens, and for power etc but still it always struck me as wrong
7:57 I had to pause the video. Not sure what happens with the rest of the draft but Kor Skyfisher over Viscera Seer? Not even a mention of the Seer, it wasn't even a consideration? I thought it was a slam dunk sign that you were right to start cutting black. As soon as the pack came on screen and I saw the Seer I was waiting for you to see it and say something like " and see everyone, this is the magic Gods telling us that we are in the right colors" or something of that nature. Instead you windmill pick a Skyfisher in a token deck??? You have like half a synergy with Skyfisher right now!!!! I'm ok, I'm ok, I will finish the video now. Had to voice my concerns fresh before I learn the outcome. I believe in your drafting skills and overall knowledge of Magic cards and thier interactions as a whole, but I believe that was a punt. Love your content. You are one of my favorite RUclipsrs and I look forward to your videos. Keep up the great content.
Visecra Seert doesn't really play with the aggresive nature of the deck. Every creature matters in cube, if you're going to be sacrificing one, you want good value. Scry 1 is not great value for a tempo/aggro deck. A 2/3 flyer is much better.
@@CalebGannon the cards you took in the rest of the draft played more toward the Skyfisher strategy but you passed on the death trigger cards. Wakedancer and the exploit bird along with hunted witness would have made it more of an aristocrat type deck and the Seer would have had more value. You ended up with the Seer anyway and didn't play it. To each his own, I just saw a different line than you did is all.
Just continuing my Noble journey to stop people from botching the pronounciation of viscera. It is pronounced Vi-suh-ruh not vi-seh-ruh. The emphasis is on the first syllable not the second. Everyone mispronounces this and it ticks me off.
