I've been dashing for a little over a month and there is something I learned by experience. NEVER accept an offer to deliver on a military base. As a civilian, I had to jump through hoops to get on the base then try to find the right building once on the base. Thankfully the customer came out. It took up way too much time.
I just started dashing Tuesday this week and I'm at little over $100 for 2 days watching your videos has helped me learn a lot and thank you and keep up the good work👍💵💵
One thing I must stress to all driver's is this: know your market. The following is especially true if you dash in a small town like I do (around 10 to 15,000 people). Do NOT go by what the vast majority of RUclips drivers say. Most of them live in big cities and can afford to be picky, in small town USA, you either take everything or you waste your day sitting. Another thing do NOT trust the directions in the app, especially if you also have a rural area you run in.
Thank you so much! It can be kind of nerve-wracking trying something new like this for the first time, and being shown each step really helps to work up the courage to give it a try👍🏻
Perfect, I Signed up to DD, got approved and have been dragging my heels. This answered allot of the questions I had. I appreciate when you went into the store with the camera and showed the process of dropping off the order to the customer. Take care, be safe out there.
I watched this video last night and had my first Dash mission today. This video helped a lot and I made a lot more than I thought I was going to. Definitely worth the gas if you hit the hot spots! Thank you for this video
Always keep your customers updated, simple things like letting them know “I’m at the restaurant waiting for your order” or “I’ve picked up your order from ______ I’ll be arriving in ____ minutes
I think communication is really important and customers appreciate that. I always let them know if I'm having to wait and then I let them know when I'm on my way.
My first time was yesterday, and everything was fine except it was night, and the gps took me to the side of a different apartment, thankfully i ran into a couple who helped explain where to go 😅 what happens if you cant find the location? Its now my worst fear, besides sketchy places of course. Im definitely going to get some pepper spray! Thank you sooo much for making this video, it helped me learn so much! Youre so easy to listen to, made me feel alot better ❤
I just got accepted to start DoorDashing yesterday but was nervous since I’m new and had NO clue how to run this app so THANK YOU so much for this video…I feel more confident and now less clueless ❤ Now I’m excited to get to work 😊 Thanks again!! Have a great weekend 🎉
If it’s super busy then you’re going to get orders no matter what because they are desperate but when it’s quiet the algorithms favour drivers with higher customer ratings and higher acceptance rates. When you decline orders it costs them money so it’s naive to think that you aren’t going to be penalised somehow.
I just signed up last night! Thanks so much for the dips. I'll have to check back and let you know how it's going. I'm turning 60 this month. Since I got laid off in November I'm seriously considerning NOT looking for another 40 hr full time gig. This might be what I need!!
You won’t get good orders if you don’t accept enough orders , only decline if they are like ten miles for 5$ or less. You need to take some of those little ones to keep your rates high. Platinum dashers get priority , you have to do 100 orders a month with high rates to get priority orders.
This was the best tutorial, by far! I’m not as nervous to start my ‘first’ order…just have to get out there and do it. Thank you for this! I’ve been so nervous about it.
I watch you when I started spark. I did spark a little over a year. Now as of tonight I'm a dasher and once again you've helped me learn. I'm excited to start dashing hopfully tomorrow. Thank you for all of your knowledge!
I did my first Dasher run last night. I chose my old neighborhood area just to have an idea where I was driving to. I suggest y’all keep DD support phone handy, get a flat container to place your insulated bag in, and have the red card in your Apple Pay in case you get an order you have to pay for with it, then get reimbursed.
People that doordash need to stop taking orders that are not at least a $1 per mile. As contractors we set our rates and when you keep excepting low paying orders it Diminishers our pay! I don't know if its happening everywhere, but doordash has been cutting pay left and right and keeping part of the tips now. Have you noticed when you get a double up or multiple order it cuts your tips now, or receive an order and it says $6.50+. It no longer gives the exact tip amount and this is do to people taking crap orders. Be smart, Start declining these because it will keep circulating around until the prive has to be raised or not get delivered if everyone would quit excepting them they have to go back to what originally worked. You're not making money unless its at least $1 per mile. Cost of gas is up, wear and tear on your vehicles and everyday Inflation has risen. Just be smart.
I'm new to delivery gigs started last weekend doing Uber eats. I think for a newbie I'm not doing bad but today was a bad day lol! Twice I accepted an offer for two different orders and I didn't realize it the first time so one customer didn't get her food from me 😢. The second was pick up from Walmart and it was 2 orders for two different people and I wound up cancelling one of them because the distance and pay wasn't worth it. Hopefully I'll pay better attention to whether it's one two or more orders before accepting! So far my satisfaction rate is still 100%, hopefully it still will be tomorrow 😮

Great video as always Bri ! You forgot the most important feature on the doordash app, "how to unasign an order" 😂😂 DD doesn't pay us waiting time so if the store employee says it's going to be a long wait unasign that junk and move onto your next order 💪

You can purchase shirts and hats that say Doordash. I Doordashed in 2020 and I went all out and purchased a red red shirt , a hoodie ,and a hat. But your not required to have them. Not shure if they still sell them. Anyways I have been thinking about doing Doordash again but have not started yet. Good luck!
One thing Bri forgot to mention. I door dash in my local area. I don't take any orders under $5 unless it's a dunkin donuts because we have a ton of them. I refused a $25 order because I had to deliver this order 15 miles away in another zone. I was stuck in traffic for an hour. When I got to the home, there was no tip for me so yeah I was fuming. Then driving back. I had a $45 order and that was even worse. 4 drop offs, not a tip from any of them and being stuck in traffic for 2 hours wasn''t worth it. I could have made more in that 3 hours. Also when I pick the order up I send a message saying when I should be at the drop off location. Then when I drop it off either I message the person TH ANK YOU FOR THE TIP (even when there isn't any tip then I put the : ( ). I usually make $100 or drive for 5-6 hours depending on how the day is going.
@@splash4891You drive in the Northshore area of Massachusetts and let me know how much fun it is dodging other drivers, trash trucks, jaywalkers, biker riders etc. It's like an obstacle course.
Nice vid. I'm trying door dash out. Two short 3-4 hour shifts in, eh. Not bad. I feel like minus gas I'm probably making maybe $12-13 an hour. Hopefully that goes up as I learn to play the system better. It's very easy no bs work though, and the "independent" factor is worth something imo. Your "boss" is just your phone, not some weird customer service supervisor/manager with an authority complex giving you grief over petty things. I don't have my warming bag yet though and they sent me on some LONG cross town deliveries. Feel a little bad cause can't help but think some people got some cold food even though I went as fast as I could. I don't get people ordering expensive breakfast plates delivery from places on the far side of town. Just asking for cold eggs. I guess.

thanks for the info been thinking of starting up a new career in the future sounds interesting just to do a trail run on the weekends and see how it goes
Can you make a video elaborating on the act of declining orders? I'm new to this and it appears that my rating will go down if I decline orders. Plus I'm seeing $3 orders and I'm not paying out of my own pocket delivering food
When you take picture of the customers delivery left at the customers home or wherever requested....what do you do with the photo? Do you upload it in the DD app somewhere? Thanks in advance.
I’m getting ready to start my first dash, if a customer asks for their food in hand and not leaving it at the door, do you take a picture of you handing the food to them or the food in their hand? Thanks.
I just started Dash. What I haven’t seen or figured is the distance from pick up to customer. When I see a pick up and it’s only a few miles away I don’t mind but then after I pick it up, they wind up sending me seven or eight maybe 10 miles and I can’t see your way how I could see that before I actually do the order.

The BEST Tutorial! Very thoughtful! Thanks!
Thanks!
I never received a hot bag or welcome kit. did I miss a step? im 2200 + deliveries in and only have what I got from a couple Pizza Places.
This was a very amazing tutorial for a beginner like me. Thanks a lot 🙏
I just applied I can’t wait to start 😊
It's a great way to make some extra money! Wishing you all the best!
Did you start yet?!
You explained it perfectly ❤ Thank you so much
That pumpkin had it coming to him. Over there vegging out on someone else's garbage can.
I appreciate the step by step. First few dashes were nerve racking.
Thank you.....I am ready for my 1st dash now !
Wishing you all the best!
Can you see the address first before accepting an order? I don’t like dealing with apartments.
I’ve just started and I really need to get a high powered light. Some address I have trouble finding. Are there any issues with lighting in neighborhoods
Thank you Bri for this video. I wished I discovered your video before I started Door Dash. I was & still nervous to dash. I have my son come along with me for support. He definitely helps me to navigate to customer’s home. Thank you again!
Thank you this is incredibly helpful. I am trying to earn a few extra bucks while home from college for summer and this was an amazing intro
16:49 OMG😮😮Just that quick motion alone you did with the pepper spray is enough to scare anyone off! That's like Rambo level stuff! Awesome! 😎
🤣
I use bear spray😅😅😅😅much better
I have also found out outside of the mileage for tax purposes that if you want deductions let's just say somehow that didn't work or you want to have a backup you can also deduct your cell phone your car insurance car payment taxes on your car oil changes tire replacement brakes air filter wipers anything that has to do to keep you moving while you're doing doordash these could be used as expenses on taxes when it comes up that's what I found out also maybe AAA or some type of towing service if you need it it's up to you in case the mileage thing doesn't work good luck to all good luck to all thank you again man for doing what you did
thanks for the info been thinking of starting up a new career in the future sounds interesting just to do a trail run on the weekends and see how it goes
the area u r in is where i was born and raised great areas great video
I’m excited to try doing doordash.
Wishing you all the best!
Great video! Thank you so much, I was nervous to start but I’m feel ready now.
Thanks! Wishing you all the best!
Can you make a video elaborating on the act of declining orders? I'm new to this and it appears that my rating will go down if I decline orders. Plus I'm seeing $3 orders and I'm not paying out of my own pocket delivering food
I’m considering on doing this little nervous 😬 about it
Me too I want to start but I’m nervous 😮
Does Door Dash forbid Us to have a firearm? I always have mines in the car but I want it on my hip!
What happens if someone’s steals the food after you’ve dropped it off or while you’re delivering?
When you take picture of the customers delivery left at the customers home or wherever requested....what do you do with the photo? Do you upload it in the DD app somewhere? Thanks in advance.
I’m getting ready to start my first dash, if a customer asks for their food in hand and not leaving it at the door, do you take a picture of you handing the food to them or the food in their hand? Thanks.
Question, does the app open your camera? Or do you have to take the photo and upload to somewhere?
I am wondering now to get in contact with support if there should be an issue? Is there an option once you are on an order?
Thanks a lot for the info. I’m starting today so we’ll see how it goes. Happy Dashin. Stay safe
Wishing you all the best!
Thank you for such an informative video ❤️
When you leave an item at a door would you suggest knocking the door?
I don’t knock or ring unless specified by the customer’s drop off notes, unless there’s not a safe place to put their food from rain or snow.
@@RideAlongWithBri ok thanks, just do exactly what the customer says they want done with their order when delivered.
Thanks, I just started 2 days ago. How will I know how far the delivery will be?
Thank you so much for the help. Love the information you shared. The pumpkin didn’t deserve the mace treatment though lol
You’re speaking really well ❤
Thank you girl , this was awesome . Great help from A to Z , wow .
If you are okay sharing, what is your acceptance rate, considering the high number of declined offers and the risk percentage of deactivation?
