Partners of their Own Learning at Digital ELT Ireland November 22-23, 2014 in Dublin. Dr. Nellie Deutsch was an invited keynote speaker. In her speech, she demonstrates the impact of using technology in teaching, addressing common challenges faced by educators. She explains that although many teachers find technology beneficial, it is often not accepted by administrations or students. Dr. Deutsch engages the audience by discussing the use of technology in various teaching environments, highlighting both the resistance and acceptance among teachers.
Since our inaugural event in April 2014 we have been active in Dublin and around Ireland, as well as on the internet, in promoting the development of ELT.
She shares her experience in teaching different age groups and levels, emphasizing the importance of adapting technology to suit various educational needs. Dr. Deutsch encourages teachers to reflect on their teaching methods and to allow students to take an active role in their learning process. She believes that students should be involved in teaching, which enhances their engagement and understanding of the material.
The presentation covers different teaching methods, including traditional lectures, outdoor classes, and the use of digital tools like Second Life and webquests. Dr. Deutsch stresses the importance of making learning active and reflective, encouraging educators to create environments where students can explore and express themselves freely.
Dr. Deutsch also touches on the concept of transformational learning, where teachers and students collaborate to address real-world problems. She suggests that action research can be an effective tool for teachers to improve their practices and engage students in meaningful ways. By involving students in the learning process and focusing on skills rather than just information, she believes educators can create more impactful and lasting educational experiences.

Hi! Do you know how to customize the moodle paywall page? When users click on a course card on the front page, they will be taken to a payment page. That payment page looks very ugly. I am using the boost union theme with stripe plugin. Thanks.

Why don't you try Moove? It's my chosen theme.
