Good video! How did you determine every 20'? Using the rolling sphere LDL measurement of 20M radius for level 1 highest protection, that would be every 60' and the corrners are the most probable lightening strike.

Tis also very critical that the LPS be bonded to the existing grounding of electric/ communications systems to ensure the they all rise & fall at the same potential ⚡⚡⚡

Might be a dumb question but would this set up work on a tent trailer (hard top) to help increase its safety during a thunderstorm?

So the wire can be touching the house, even on the roof? Is it because of coppers conductivity?

The electricity takes the shortest rout to the ground. This is what the experts who sell the products told me to do.

Every heard of a way of protecting the actual elelctrical system? I'm an electrician and have always been told it was impossible. I have ground faults and ground rods of coarse. I live in the country and have to use a 75 foot tower for my internet. it and my power poles have been struck by lightning. The 1 out of 200 homes struck by lightning doesnt apply where I live. I'm in tornado ally and get multiple strikes a year. I disconect everything during storms but I'm going to install an expensive server in my home being the huge nerd I am. I am very worried about a strike destroying my whole server. Last time my internet was struck the lightning travel down my cat 6 wire and to my horor the internet provider wraped the cat 6 around y gas line bursting it open and at the same time igniting it. I came home between service calls luckily and found my computer had blown apart. Then heard my gas line spewing fire.

You may have some luck installing Ethernet media converters to fiber optic. Also install plenty of SPDs for ethernet and power. Remember that a lightning carries so much power that it generates an EMP so electrical isolation may not even be enough.

I was surprised that you had purchased a ground rod driver for a hammer drill then used a sledgehammer to drive the rod.

@@off-gridhomesteading7269 GREAT HELP, IT WOULD TAKE LESS TIME AND ENERGY IF YOU JUST GIVE THE SIZE OFF THE WIRE......IF YOU EVEN KNOW WHAT SIZE IS IT RIGHT?
