- Step by step tutorial showing how to make a birds' nest print with your gelli plate, using natural grasses, leaves, feathers and cut out shapes. Great for easter card making. I use Matisse structure paints for the base layer and flow paints for the top layer. This design was inspired by Alice-ART • Alice-ART Gelatine-Dru... - she is amazing! My technique uses a ghost print rather than layers to get the textures of the natural materials. Hope you enjoy!
I've been playing with the concepts you presented here for almost a full month now, and I cannot get enough. I've made some with glue gun tree branches that are more stark, and some that are deeply detailed like full-on Where's Waldo. Thank you so much for being the springboard that plunged me into the deep end! Your work is so beautiful and inspiring, and your tutorials are easy to follow. I can't wait to see what you make next!
Thank you so much for being generous and sharing your technique! I'm new to gel printing and am excited to give it a go!

You've inspired me to get out my gelli plates. In the past I used them for scrapbooking and cards but had stopped in past years in favor of fine art, I didn't realize that anyone was making such wonderful artwork with them! You've done Fantastic Art!
Fabulous. I think feathers are my favourite prints... then when they have picked up quite a bit of colours of paint I use the feathers in my art too
Thanks so much - yes feathers print so beautifully!

Love it, fab…..
This is gorgeous 💕

Could you tell me more about the type of paper you used to take the print? How heavy is your paper? I like heavier paper because you can work it, paint on top of it, etc. but the heavier the paper, the less it picks up your paint.
Hi Vonalda this was 180gsm smooth card (liviano brand). I find that it picks up paint well and the smooth surface is great for detail. I'd just avoid anything too textured.
I made the mistake of using seeded grasses before. I was picking seeds out of my plate for days!
It is a pain isn't it! But so much fun using natural materials -lots of surprises!
How long do you let the nest image dry before rolling on the final layer?
👍👍👍💕💕💕🇩🇰
