My brother read your book years ago and told me it was the best book he ever read. At that time he was making around 300k a year. 5 years later he is on the cover of FORBES as on of the TOP 40 UNDER 40. Social Security tracks how much you made for 35 years, but those values are not adjusted to current inflation values when they start paying out.
A lot of GenXs especially the younger ones saw this coming years ago we were never counting on Social Security we thought it would collapse five years ago

Just like how fiat money historically always returns to the value of 0 so does everything else that lacks inherit value. Food will always be valuable. Property and shelter, energy, precious metals, seeds, and other essential components of life retain value indefinitely because their value does not need to be tied to a monetary number to remain valuable. That’s why the U.S. dollar, social security, instagram followers, and yes Bitcoin are bound to return to their original value, and that value is absolutely jack squat.

You can definitely live freely on $50,000 annually. I’m not sure what kind of lifestyle you want to live, however the basic needs do not add up to $50,000. I earn $75,000 annually at 26 and I only spend $30,000 per year on housing, food, hydro, vehicle, etc.

the thievery comes in when you realize while the pensions were invested all these years the profits from those investments were pocketed by "THIEVES" instead of putting the profits back into the pension they used it to buy a Bently

The big banks are always protected by the government and courts, but I wish you the best. I’ve seen this coming and pulled out of my pension and bought gold and silver that I will convert into cash paying assets after the crash.

Who stole the UPS pension was the Teamsters Union. The company paid every dime they were obligated to via the agreed contracts over the years. The company never missed a payment. The Union is then responsible to create the plan and administer the benefits. They mismanaged the company contributions. In fact in 1997 the company proposed to be responsible to administer the funds and the employees could join the UPS non-Union retirement plan. They turned them down flat and in fact struck the company for six weeks. They wanted to stay with the Teamster administration. Now they are complaining. They had their chance and blew it. They trusted the Teamsters, and were lied to. Duh!

The only reason you need a pension is so you can retire ( stop working ), and I can't imagine Robert will ever stop working......
What you need to know about derivatives if you find them in your pension fund or 401k holdings: They are basically insurance contracts. Your fund is being paid a premium to insure the debt instrument against default, with no claim on the underlying assets should the debt instruments default. If you see the word "synthetic" on a derivative, your fund is essentially a re-insurer. They're on the hook for whatever the primary insurer can not pay off.
Same is true if you see residential or commercial MBS in the holdings. Your fund owns "squares" of these things, nothing more. When the MBS goes bust, your fund is toast. They have no claim on the asset underlying the "squares" they got hung with.
These pensions and 401k funds would be much better off owning actual assets, and hiring some physical, smash-mouth businessmen to run them.

I've been trying to find a solution to one problem.
In India we can take loan against gold. So, my plan is that when everything bubble bursts, I will leverage my gold value and buy real estates or stocks at dirt cheap prices.

The video title is very misleading. I’m 21 years old. I don’t particularly care about pensions as I’m not going to ‘retire’ for a long time and I have always expected there to be no pension by the time I retire. I’m also from Australia and as far as I’m aware, we don’t have pension funds - all pensions are funded directly from the government or employer, so if they over promised, it’s their problem, not the person receiving the pension. I love most of what The Rich Dad Company teaches, but this is simply not the training that the world needs - it’s simply a livestream to help you sell a book relating to issues the American pension system has.
The main point is to NOT rely on any pension. Do your own thing.
In the USA there are still some companies at will have pensions . Just less of them .

The UPS driver said that his employer put in $500,000 in his pension. He then said that should be $9,000 a month. So take 500,000 and divide that by 9,0000. That equals 55 and 1/2. So that means his 500k paying him 9k a month should only last 4 and 1/2 years. The problem with pensions is that people think that that 500k can mysteriously transform into 9k a month for 360 months.
At 7 1/2% over thirty years?
@@nolongerhave-couth4771 I just ran the numbers for compound interest of $1388 invested each month for 30 years. With an interest rate of 7.5% that would give you a total of $1,722,000ish. If you deduct 9k a month from that number it looks a little better. It would give you 16 years of income at 9k. It would not support you for the rest of your life.

Look at the news technologies, that is where all the growth will be and will make new millionaires in about 3-5 years. some of those most impactful stocks are still under $5.00 today.

list your skills, see where there is a need for them. sell your time until you make enough to do what your state govt gives tax breaks on. find the tax breaks, start a business, get someone to invest and put your payout into assets. also read more books until you dont need hand holding.
Keep on consuming information, try to keep on getting higher paying jobs, and on the off time formulate plans and try out different ideas on how to get money by providing services to people or by selling goods to people, take that money and try to invest in assets that appreciate in value, real estate, precious metals, etc... don't spend money on trivial items, each time you spend money on trivial items, that money goes from your pockets into someone else's, try to find ways on how to be on the receiving end of the transaction.

Sad story Robert. I think many Fortune 500 companies are like this. We have not seen this before so there is nothing to view as a model. My thought is revolutionary at its core. It is more than just a sad story. As a minimum, no execs get bonus. And ceo and cfo need to go to prison if promises were broken without justification.

@@charleewayne5164 no on crypto. My thought is the crypto competes with the usd. And the USA will not tolerate competition due to no transparency issue. Once the USA bans crypto then other fiat nations will join. Hence it will be too dangerous to own any crypto and it will collapse overnight. We prefer hard assets like stocks and real estate as our hedge. And foreign properties are candidates since those are out of reach by irs.

on an annualized basis, that's what? 0.9% return on pension commitments? Of 500k, you get, after 30 years, 2.16% of the just starting capital each year, this is after 30 years that it had to "grow". Wallstreet scammed you. A dumb child could buy a diverse set of dividend yielding stocks and sell covered calls to return at least an average of 15% a year with almost zero risk.

If you have not thought about this or asked the question. ... why is this pestilence seemingly targeting care facilities with the older generations? Could it be possible that with then gone their pensions, social security, and other payment to them cease on death?
Additionally, these people are living history with the ability to inform the younger generations of the truth of what happened in their time to say what is going on now is what they did then. A warning. History books, they can change but they can't change the memories of multitudes from that generation. ..they can, however, silence them to speak no more.

If you are making $400,000 to $500,000 a year, those employees should have saved and not spent all that salary. I wouldn’t think they would not worry about a Pension . It would be nice but that kind of money would have saved on my own and not rely on the Employer

This is infuriating and deceitful, especially from a company such as UPS. I am curious why this was not caught sooner. If DB plan, aren’t they required to file Form 5500 yearly along with their tax returns with the PGC, the governing body over pensions?

When was 25 I saw a news broadcast telling a story how man worked 30 yrs for a engineering co and just weeks before his retirement they fired him , I dropped out of college and say I will never work for no company for more than 6 yrs . 52 Im going to be fully retired in 5 mos thanks to the stock market . Took man to get it right I can do what I want . Still going to do something .

Did I miss something? He mentioned making 4-500k a year and then having a pension failure. If you were making that much money years ago you shouldn't need a pension. Maybe I misunderstood.
If you are making that much money you should be investing in other things and not blowing your money on monthly expenses.
This guy says he was paid extremely well but did not take control of his personal finances, and was given 10 years notice that the pension plan was in trouble.

This is not true.. the pension lost 30% then made back 35% +.. soo they are up 5%. And I'm talking about teamster UPS. .. pretty much matched the same as 401ks

The ups driver said things were bad before the corona virus, and probably much worse now. I believe ups is doing multiple times the business they usually do because of the corona virus. Every one is getting every thing delivered to their home instead of shopping in person.
