Every Dutch rider: “Some good hardpack training today”
lol
precies
Echt 100%🇳🇱
Wou het net zeggen 🤣
Well Im sure Lommel on a 0 degree Celsius day is similar.
Track looks rad! As a European tho I wouldn´t call it a sand track. Almost full on hard pack.
Yea it’s the same as a medium pack in Europe
I don’t ride sand MX in Australia... but I ride 80km of sand on the beach and sand dunes... each way!!! And we have to battle the high tides and water springs... and creek flows... and 4WD tracks... a sand MX tracks looks so much fun... but I am sure SUPER tiring for an old fart like me.
agreed, thats not a "real" sand track. but i love to ride these conditions :D
As an American that has ridden that track multiple it definitely qualifies as a sand track here but not in Europe. However its an awesome track and can get pretty rough which I love. Highly recommend riding there if you get the chance.
@@Olsson229 riding out in orange groves where I live. You either have hard packed clay, grass/some dirt, and good ole Florida sand. You gotta stay aware 24/7 because the conditions change like every few feet or few yards but sure is fun tho lol
Every Dutch or Belgium watcher:
Damn nice hardpack track!
just kiddin love your vids
😂
@@AjCatanzarohe’s right, this more leaning to hard pack than sand. Riding the smaller two strokes can be quite intens on deeper sand tracks, to keep it in the powerband. Four strokes are way easier there, one gear up and lug it around.
Love the videos and how you explain technique, super valueable ❤
That 2 strokes small bore sound!! loving it!
Ding!
@@donalddonaldson7211 LOL yep!
Aj just wanted to encourage you, as a mx rider I think it’s safe to say we all appreciate your teaching and guidance really enjoy the vids!
-alex from Louisiana
Just what I needed for Gopher Dunes!
Same with me!!!
i need to get on the patron. love this q& a
👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
I needed this! One of our local tracks is super loose sand and the 3 times I’ve been there so far it wasn’t good at all. My front end just constantly washed out and knifed and I had to save it with throwing my leg down and pulling the bike back up over and over. It was definitely me because most riders were absolutely flying on the track including deep corners.
Q and A is spot on brother I'm a experienced 57 year old sand rider there is tons of it here in Indiana
Oh yes, 250sx, my weapon of choice! Thanks for the tips, I have a sand track that we race at that is totally different than my practice track and your tips will definitely help.
Great video Aj love you videos.
WOW 1440P 60FPS on my new tablet,HAPPY DAYS.thanks for all the consitent conetent aj and your vids have helped me a ton whilst getting back into riding.
😎😎😎
Thanks for watching!
Favourite bike with my favourite coach on RUclips.👍👍
im going to need this video for this racing season. my local track is right next to the beach and the track is mostly covered in sand.
Damn AJ, you’re smoking fast on that two smoker just like Tomac, always good info thanks for all the riding and racing tips it helps a lot & a very Merry Christmas to you and your loved ones, Will.
Sweet . Definitely a fun track.. bummed I missed your class
I have a race this Sunday on a sand track at gtr complex in South Carolina THANKYOU!!
Thanks aj ur the man.love ur videos.
I'm 58 and just finisher my second hair scramble race in Bartow Florida. I'm watching sand videos because I've been riding a spot that is full of sand. I HATE it! Last time out, I leveled a 15' pine sappling and was trapped between my bike and the tree for about 5 minutes, until one of my buddies back-tracked and lifted the bike off of me. I've since lowered my forks in the tripple tree, lowered the sag, hardened the suspension and went from a 13T to 14T front sprocket. I haven't tested it yet. I was running about 10.5 psi the last ride and felt a little squirely. Next time, I'll try about 12 psi. I fully understand the speed thing and can feel the difference when I go fast in open areas, however, it's really hard to have the confidence to go faster, when your handlebars are inches away from trees. I'm hoping some of the other hacks will give me confidence to go faster.
I ride Ocala National forest sometimes
I agree with you, the sand is very hard to feel comfortable in when the trail is tight or even the wide open if sand is deep enough.
I'm riding a drz 400s and it does pretty good in the sand.
Hey AJ, could you do a workout or training video? What your daily schedule looks like? That would be pretty awesome. Sweet video by the way, keep up the great work!
I think he said he doesn’t train! Surprised me too
Very nice I needed this
I agree with others the track is hardly a sand track ,you could also touch on how a 'deep' sand track would really change lap after lap and versatility is as important as many other things the fastest line may not be the best line after a lap ..thanks for the info
That jacket is so sick 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Sand.. Live it. Love it... Thnx AJ...
The track I went to was not maintained one bit. The clay was literally as hard as concrete and would round out tire knobs in no time. MX191 looks absolutely prime. It takes a lot of work to keep tracks in good shape.
Barely even a sand track you poppin wheelies out of a corner lol
big bikes still wheelie in the sand
Take it you’ve never watched anyone ride in gnarly sand? You can still wheelie out of corners in sand. Lol
For the guy who pushes front tire in sand. I found opening (Faster) the front rebound in the forks 2-4 clicks. For me it helps. AJ love your vids.
Good tip!
I wish Seminole Tribe Motocross was around still, that was a really good sand track.
Need to know info..love it..just was in Orlando
Love Ur video's bro
Dutch people be like: “Where’s the sand?!”
Still an awesome video, I enjoyed it!!
I love the sand 😍
I’m split between getting a KTM 150 or pit bike. I haven’t raced in 13 years but want to get back into it, but also bought 6 acres so can make a small track for pit bike but maybe not big bike.
I love Milton there track is great but I live in alabama and it’s 2 hours away
That’s what y’all call sand?😂. Love your vids bro🤟
That is my dad and our buddy in the beginning of the video
Thanks for the Q&A about sand. Very helpful. I didn’t know how much body position should stay the same. I thought it would change quite a bit for sand.
Thanks for the clarification.
👍🏼👍🏼
Ey man thx for the info
Thanks bud.
good luck with supercross!!
The plant behind you looks like it is way too dry, please take care about it :)
But perfect videos and that sandy track looks great !
My wife will not be happy hear that 😂
Thanks for watching!
When is the Acadamy coming to Meadow Valley again?
Which sand tyre do you guys prefer?
Nice Video as always dude im going to ride at lommel in 2 weeks 🤘🏼
Pirelli paddle. It’s really hard to rear steer when it’s new, but after a couple hours the edges get a little more dull. They last a very long time with minimal fall off unless you’re a pro.
Hi, is it possible for you to make a video on re gripping (hands). After all, this is the root to proper albow position.
I have never really figured this out.
Do you regrip both hands?
How far/much do you regrip?
Same regrip in different corners?
Would love to see a step by step video on gripping technique.
Coming in to a corner, standing up breaking, and how you regrip before the transition to acceleration.
Fan from Norway
Good luck In 2021!!
I think it’s definitely buried somewhere in one of my videos, but I can definitely talk more about it. Thanks for watching!
@@AjCatanzaro yes, you did briefly mention it in one of your vids.
The way you break down technique is in my mind arguably the best there is.
Would be nice to see your take on regripping.
Do you remember if you were in 2nd on those inside lines?
thats a really cool seat. can I get a link or something to it? looks awesome!
The chair I’m sitting in? It’s from mavix.com
If you hold off a week I’ll have a promo code for you guys! 👍🏼
Iv only been riding for a year never rode sand but got a beach race in a couple of months is that a very bad idea 🤣
we have a sand track where i live and i have a video where i did 6 or so laps and only went sideways one time of one of the bigger jumps and i dont know why i went sideways ..
its my mx track video right at the 6 min mark if you care to look and give some feedback ?
In the netherlands we say: ah wat een harde baan
I always wash out in the sand. Any tips for me???
Flyin'
Sounds amazing. Can borrow some of your DNA to speed up my learning process haha.
Here in Holland this is hardpack🤣🤣
Very good
was that a 250
Sit towards the front in sand?????
damn I love the ktm 150sx; so expensive though!!!!
Not really I just sold a 17 for 4k bought it for less, it's a fun bike but my kx450 is way more fun
Brand new they are close to 8 grand. So it’s obviously gonna be cheaper if you used one.
That ktm needs bigger jets
I absolutely SUCK in the sand :(
Cool.
I would buy one of those jackets, looks awesome!
Come join us at Patreon peeps... you know you want to!
👍
i would love to get that jacket for the giveaway
It’s pretty sweet!
That’s no sand track lol.
Yeah not really a sand track. Just looks like it’s a little soft but not like a proper sand track
Is there a difference between sand and dirt or are both made of the same material?
🤔🤦🏼♂️
big difference. dirt packs down and stays that way unless it has a lot of top-soil loam in it. dirt soaks up water so the more it rains the more it ruts out. dry sand wont pack down and just keeps moving around. the ruts only stay there if you stay in the exact same track. the more it rains the better sand gets. damp sand makes perfect traction and you can go fast with little worry about slipping out. dry sand is awesome too as long as your flying and on the gas. let off the gas slowly in sand and steer with the rear tire more.
My teacher (ex kawasaki factory driver) always told me "fuck the tank if you dont you lose your woman very fast"
Workout/ nutrition video????
Its different from person to person
I was thinking the same thing!
Hi can i ask what is the best bike for begginer like me 125 2stroke or 250 4stroke thank you or suggest some cc of bike for me thank you i always follow you'r riding tips
I’d say the 250 4 stroke bit earlier to learn on
@@markmagness3693 thank you bro what about the 125 2stroke can i ask you what wrong about it thankz
The difference is if you have never rode before the 250 is the bike you going to be able to learn on. A two stroke is meant to go fast not to lug around. A four stroke can go slow and not bog a lot. Also a 125 two stroke is very very hard to ride fast.
I’m almost 30 and still ride a 125. In fact I’m faster by over 20 seconds on my 125 compared to my 450 last year at one of my local tracks. You can absolutely learn on a 125 and pick on 4 strokes. If your jetting is correct you can lug a 2 stroke all day. They don’t flame out as easy as 4 strokes. A 250 4 stroke initially will be faster, but you’ll find yourself going really slow in corners and flying down straight aways because it’s just so easy to do. On a 125 you are forced to corner well because if you don’t your lap time will suffer.
Dang... second
I live an hour from 191
So, Aspirin or pain meds.
Not really a sand track...
Those questions suck, so I’m going to ask a question.
How do you practice motocross at home when you can’t ride your dirt bike?
what kind of question is that 😂
You watch my dang videos, that’s how
Aj Catanzaro Thanks for reading my comment, but I mean my yard isn’t big enough to ride in and I can’t go to the track every weekend like my competition. so what can I do to help me improve on the bike?
Edit: I already know fitness is a big thing but I got that down pretty good so I need some different advice to improve on the bike.
Thank you again man.🙏🏻
You’re only going to be able to improve you body and you mind about riding you can’t get more comfortable with the skills he teaches if you don’t ride a lot.
i got to be trained by ben lamay.
Not really a sandtrack
Why do we ride in the sand there called dirt bikes aren’t they?
That is not sand
Come to Florida, let me show you sand
Should have showed that big bruise So everyone knows you aren't just trying to sell shit. 🍻
I wish I could attach an image in the comments. I have a good one, wear my right leg looks literally double the size of my left 😖
@@AjCatanzaro i was just teasing. Gotta do what you gotta do these days. Go for it. Great technical videos. Keep it up👍
Are you sponsored by Kawasaki? Or a different factor?
Do you have fake teeth or have had a broken jaw? Not trying to be rude, just wondering..
This guys really a pro? Saw Eli on a 250 2 stroke on a similar layout sand Track dude lever lifted the gas this guy can’t even do it on a lil 125 that has no power it’s just a 2 stroke no where near a 250 4 stroke
