Super creative, videos were forced to find interesting ways to make out of box videos. The budget limitations made them come up with really cool ideas.music videos were a unique medium and people really pushed the limits of it.
This song was playing while i was on mushrooms, i wrote the lyrics on my jeans in whiteout then coloured them in rainbow. It seemed right at the time. I still have those jeans, even though they don't fit anymore. I fucking love this song.
I put together 3 discs worth of best of the 90s, and it destroys this. and that's without any soundgarden, STP or that one band that's highly overrated. 45 songs or so songs, by 45 different artists.
Daiblo Richards just have fond memory's of the past and live for the moment now. 20 years from now you will be saying the same thing about today. Take advantage of every second and have fun.
BlitzedPig I dunno if this current moment is cool enough to say great things about it in 20 years. Everyone's so bored. I think internet may have killed culture.
I cannot believe I let this song get away from me! The 90's feels like a lost decade to me. It was a decade filled with deep personal loss for me. I was music like this that kept me from loosing my mind. It help me move through the sadness . It has a dark quality I find healing
EVERYTHING you said and how you said it is in perfect order and the exact way I feel!!!! I totally FORGOT about this song entirely... I definitely went through HUGE losses as well and these songs were the soundtrack to my life and the only cradle of salvation entirely.
Every time I watch or hear this it reminds me of the death of MTV, this was right around the time when they started to show more and more reality shows and less and less music. Still pisses me off they went away from what made them great.
Had this tune stuck in the back of my head for 27 years, 1995 , holy shit, and I ve been looking, or listening for it, finally found it, couldn't remember what it was called or where to find it, back when whenever I be out Ill'n, and I was feeling good I'd hear this, technically I found it 4 days ago and the first 20 second makes my brain tingle.
joh3628 I bought the cd on release in London. Lost it. & was never able to easily replace it. Must be some kind of publishing bind I’d bet you anything.
Greatest feeling ! I’m looking for a diff song i can barely remember but came across this in the process. Love folk implosion but never heard this jam before !
Weird and good indeed. Lou Barlow deserves so much more cred for having been in this band on top of Dino and Sebadoh! It just speaks to how dynamic and talented he was without selling out his own sound or style. I was a huge Sebadoh fan in the 90s and Folk Implosion definitely expanded my musical horizons beyond typical indie rock.
I spent the past few hours trying to find the name and artist of this masterpiece. It was driving me crazy! Thank god for the internet. This jam still slaps. I miss the 90’s dammit.
Boy! I miss the retroplex on 99x I loved how the dj would say " and on today's date back in history this song was released " yeah I miss old Atlanta the show would come on at noon
lorenna tuter lol tell me about it, I'm desensitized to everything. Nothing moves me the way it did when I was young. The only thing that comes close is 80's retro wave.
Personally I kind of like the gritty sound of it. This is how it sounded coming out of my radio back in high school, when music was evolving into something raw and amazing. Thanks for uploading it!
I heard it in a show called Brand New Cherry Flavor on Netflix. My son asked who it was. I said, I'm not sure it was in a movie called Kids in the '90s. I remembered hearing it on the radio and it was just weird enough for me to dig it. It reminded me of 120 minutes or Alternative Nation. Yeah, great song!
Saw these guys at Smith's Olde Bar in ATL. Fantastic live set. After the show, got a kiss on the cheek from Lou Barlow that made my 23 year old self weak in the knees. Such a lovely memory. 💖
Same... My buddy and I were talking about various Lou Barlow work and he did not know of Folk Implosion. Went to Spotify to get this one for him, and nowhere. Even on the Kids soundtrack it's Natural One "in the style of Folk Implosion". Strange
I remember this video from when we'd recently gotten cable and M.T.V. was an exciting novelty. I remember getting up on a day without school and watching hours of music videos while keeping a mental tally of how many were good or bad. I forgot this song but the video stayed in my head all these years and tonight I managed to track it down.
Me too. I graduated high school in 91 so from 91 until 95 / 96 I really enjoyed coming home from work and watching some MTV until all the bullshit started to take over. Once 97 to 99 hit the world doesn't feel the same at all to me. I don't think anything will ever touch the 80's and 90's with how cool things were back then.
Back when everyone was wearing Doc Martens, Jnco's and had a short sleeved shirt pulled over a long sleeve shirt, wallet with a chain, and you were the $ #!+ if you had a pager AKA beeper.
I remember listening to this song with my mom back in '95. I was only 6 years old then. Wow! Feels like forever ago. I would kill for a time machine to go back to the 90's at the age I am now.
I remember hearing this a kid in the 90's and then it randomly came on the radio back in 2013. I went to listen to earlier stuff after that. Great shit.
Dude you honestly read my mind. I typed in google "one hit wonders from 90s" and here i am. Ive had so many deep memories run through my head tonight, shit that ive forgotten for years... Tomorrow im going on a road trip. peace

Blast from the past. This song still rocks in 2020. Anybody else still loving this song today⁉️
Yes
Haven’t stopped since high school and yes 2021
Hell yeah man, iconic tune
2021... still love it.
Grooving today
Gotta love the off kilter weirdness that was mainstream in the early-mid 90's before MTV sold its soul.
Love that weird alternative was mainstream in the 90s. Best decade ever.
Super creative, videos were forced to find interesting ways to make out of box videos. The budget limitations made them come up with really cool ideas.music videos were a unique medium and people really pushed the limits of it.
Best music genre ever! So creative, so intelligent, so good!

Shrooms in 1995 just hit differently and so did the music
I want to see the jeans
a biblia diz tudo
the kids soundtrack is possibly the most underrated gem of the 90s and quite a few folk implosion songs
I put together 3 discs worth of best of the 90s, and it destroys this. and that's without any soundgarden, STP or that one band that's highly overrated.

Brings me back to VHS, Beavis and butthead, smoking weed, and life not SUCKING!!! I miss those days.
Agree. why does life suck the older we get. I miss the carefree days of youth.... sigh
Tallywhacker Richards ugh I miss it too.

I am the horse.
I'm glad I was a teenager in the 90s. MTV was all you cared about after school.
90's music was the pinnacle. Been a slow ride downhill ever since. A lost gem like this one hitter is proof. Love this song.
Nahomie Prophete doesn’t know anything about 90’s music
This exactly. Well said. I think shit culture comes with shit music.
Hey old man... my dad said the same thing about the 60s
One of the lost 90's classics!
I cannot believe I let this song get away from me! The 90's feels like a lost decade to me. It was a decade filled with deep personal loss for me. I was music like this that kept me from loosing my mind. It help me move through the sadness . It has a dark quality I find healing

Oh shit....I forgot about this song.

No music video puts me back into 1995 like this one. I was also a proud owner of this cassette single.
Me too. This and Mazzy Star got me through a lot that year
No kidding. Awesome tune. It’s like Someone’s surfin and at the same time trying to comb someone’s hair
I miss those days. Things were so much simpler back then

I've been searching for this song for over 13 years. NOT LIEING. I could never find it and finally heard it on the radio today and now I've found you.
It’s a trip finding it, huh? I’m glad it’s here since music based subscriptions don’t play it. Mesmerizing tune, I love it.
Yup that bass line is awesome one of my fast hi way songs, makes those miles pass in a blur.some of us truckers don't listen to country music.

Great comment i was floored when I realized this was lou Barlow such an eclectic catalogue
This is a time capsule back to 1995
Can't believe it's been 20 years, feeling old at 33. Fond memories of being faded at 14.

Lead singer your energy level is off the chart, you need to dial it back a notch or two!
once that caffeine kicks in his energy will be off the charts
That’s was just about every 90s alt rock lead singer-looking like the gave zero fucks
I spent the past few hours trying to find the name and artist of this masterpiece. It was driving me crazy! Thank god for the internet. This jam still slaps. I miss the 90’s dammit.
While thanking God, use a capital G.
I haven't heard this song in so many years. I almost forgot it existed. It's a shame. It's a really good song.
90s alternative, my long lost love.
This song and Possum Kingdom by the Toadies, lightning Crashes by Live and so many other songs remind me of the 1990's alternative rock on MTV.
Sex&Candy by Marcy Playground
I remember when I saw this on tv. I thought the music and astronauts were so cool. Still do :)
"There's no telling what we'll do when we're free!" I fell in love with this song while on lockdown in Soledad State prison.

Love the groovin' bass line....
First heard in fall 1997, timeless, still great in 2021. When will we be free?

I love it, too. Takes me right back there when I'm super stoned and reflective.
I saw the music video play on cable tv one time, I don't remember the channel but I was excited because I knew exactly what song it was.
The snare drum. The bass line. Seriously. What else can be said?
