I listened to the first two, but I forget them now, so I'm happily listening to them again so I can get caught up to the third book. There's an awful lot of internal dialogue that reminds me of Dune. Gotta say, I not partial to it, but that's a small, petty, personal quirk that doesn't spoil the story at all. I love it. I'm enjoying it all over again. Thank you so much for posting these, they're a great treat.

Hey Lars, thank you very much for this upload. That was a really good story. They way you talked about it, describing it as something different and so on, made me wonder whether or not that screwed up a Sci-fi novel but in the end, it didn't. Actually, I am not even sure what you were worried about :) However, the audio version was a tiny bit flawed. Some lines were repeated (as if adding two overlapping sound tracks without overlapping) and sometimes there were some more, some less, significant changes in volume. It made me think of listening to some edited parts that weren't supposed to be recognisable as such. Also the male narrator's "he said/she said" interjections were sometimes way too loud compared to the lines delivered by the characters that it appeared to be inserted into the speeches. In other words, the sound editing can be improved. The story probably not, it's excellent and the reason why I didn't mind those sound editing hiccups too much :) I am really looking forward to the next part. Thank you so much for sharing!

Hey Art Blade, thank you for listening and thank you for the comment. I don't have the ear or expertise to pick up on those sound glitches. My expertise lay elsewhere, but I'll pass your comments on to the audio producers and make sure it doesn't happens. Book 2 is waiting for you and I hope you enjoy it and perhaps those glitches died down already.

@@larssgt thank you for the reply :) I'm about 50+% through with the Book 2 and the audio has been good so far. I like the story very much :) Something that you said in the vid description has kept me thinking: you said that 3rd person required more than one narrator. While I know many examples with just one narrator that worked absolutely fine, I also came across a few that were set up using even more than two narrators. What I didn't expect was that you sort of contradicted yourself by allowing the narrators to read all the characters. Like, the male narrator (exceptional voice by the way, congratz on getting him on board) reads both male and female characters and the female narrator (I like her voice, too) reads the very same characters as well. So that was a surprise. So far, you're the first to do it this way and that is something unique and for some reason, it works :)) Also, it makes your audiobook special. After getting used to it, I actually have been enjoying the back and forth between your narrators reading whole chapters. Maybe that adds some extra flavour to make it more special but anyway, I think you should stick with that concept and the same narrators if possible-I think that's some sort of your personal touch and trademark :) Anyway, good job so far and again, thank you so much for sharing. Have a great day, Lars :)

Lifelong sci-fi reader and more recently listener, wanted to share my only real critique as constructive criticism. While there are a few situations and character types that make it appropriate to avoid contractions, it makes this narration/read tedious at times. Conversational usage of contractions is one of those things that makes a story easy to relate to and brings the characters to life. Very, very few people speak with clear and precise language in everyday conversation, and even fewer in a crisis situation. Truly enjoyed the book and looking forward to the next, with hopes that this one issue doesn't persist. Thanks (not thank you) for sharing.

This one took me a while to realize especially early on in my writing where I want my work to be and look perfect. I did try my best to let go of it an books two and three, but you'll find that for some characters it's still there. My most recent work, EZO and Death Bringers don't suffer this problem. As well as my WIP Fortress which is continuation of Sodenia's War trilogy also takes full advantage of contractions.
Anyhow, happy to have you here. Thank you for listening and I hope you enjoy the stories.

    This is really good stuff.
First of all, the use of language itself is top tier. Perhaps not the very pinnacle of what is possible, but very close, and having zero errors.
Second, the story is very good. Some of it is derivative. I recognize some "Ender's Game" here, as well as elements of the Aldenata series. And others, of course. But the elements are combined in different ways, so the story overall becomes new. And using elements that are known to be good is hardly a criticism.
That's all for now (after 90 min, and 5 hours to go)
