Thank you! you are so right about the lead time on the rear bars from HD. Early April of 24 I ordered a set, said May 1st, That came around said June, possibly July, spoke with the PM and stated it could be August or later, so I canceled. I went with an aftermarket company, paid too much but I got the rear set in like two weeks. They look good, however when I change out the compact front engine guard I'm going your route. Thank you!

I also thought I had to get a fairing support but Steve from the Sik Baggers channel informed me that you in fact do not need a fairing support on the 14+ road glide. He mentions this in his road glide fairing 2” lowering kit video and again when he installs the burly brand crash bars like this. I just got the same bars you did off of eBay with red accents and black rollers for $445 for both front and rear and have been running them without a fairing support bracket with no issues. That thing is going nowhere with how it is mounted to the frame. Thanks for the video!

Thanks for watching and commenting. No place for highway pegs on the bars. If going with this style of bar, frame mounted highway pegs is the way to go. Ride safe and enjoy. ✌️👊👍

I understand and appreciate the different options for my 2021 CVO Road Glide but I like the mustache bars with my highway pegs. The back end bag protectors look ok but I don’t like that front end look. To each their own! Good info Rick👍🏼 Thank you.
Thanks for watching and commenting. As far as preventing damage, I don't believe there is a difference between the flat bar or the stock chopped engine guard. As long as you have the bar style saddlebag guards. If you are already a subscriber to the channel...thank you. If you haven't yet subscribed to the channel I'd be honored if you'd consider doing so. I wouldn’t waste my money on these cheap knock offs. My personal experience. I bought two sets of regular bag guards for me and my wife from two different manufacturers and within a few months the black shiney bars discolored and turned to real bad looking flat black color. Tried different cleaners to get the shine back without success. Just pure garbage. So I am assuming they paint them and not powder coat them.

@@HDVIBEI can’t believe I missed that. Thanks.
They definitely look better than the smaller engine guards HD installing on newer bikes, great comparison 👍👍

Only thing with these flat out bars is where do you mount highway pegs?

Yup, agree. The older fairing is more rounded, where the 24 fairing has flatter lines, hence why the newer bar is flat.

Is there any pros and cons to either crash bar as far as doing it's job and preventing damage to bike when it's over?

If the finish is truly the only problem why not just get them powder coated? Would still be cheaper than $400 guards.
@@Chris-cm9vc Harley Guards are $290 not $400.
@Chris-cm9vc So far the finish is just fine. 👍👊✌️
@asoshkin For the old style they are $290. Look on the website...the bar style tip over bars are 399.98 from HD.
that should save you in a crash, i bet the steel is better and stronger from China
Thanks for watching and sharing your perspective. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 👊
