  • Located in Angelópolis (the southern area that is fashionable in Puebla), the International Baroque Museum combines the importance of one of the most important artistic movements during the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries and the splendor of modern architecture.
The seven rooms of this museum are dedicated to the Baroque, a period in which the most imposing buildings of colonial Mexico were built. But, it also served to promote the goals of the Catholic Church and monarchies in Europe.
There is a pavilion exclusively dedicated to the city of Puebla and its extensive Baroque heritage, as well as the Science and Literature room, where the creativity of the first Baroque poet, Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz, is praised. Upon prior reservation, you can visit the area where the works are restored.
In addition to the rich heritage, the architecture of the International Baroque Museum is a visual delight. The design was in charge of the Japanese Toyo Ito, winner of the Pritzker Prize, known as the Nobel Prize for architecture. The complex is laid out with curved and white walls, water mirrors and minimalist gardens where you can rest, after the tour inside the museum.
The space allows you to admire the Eco Metropolitan Park.
